Triton Invitational Comes to Asia for the First Time — Apply Now for Jeju 2026

The Triton Poker Super High Roller Series has confirmed the Triton Invitational will take place in Jeju, South Korea this September, marking the first time the prestigious event has ever been held in Asia. With a $200,000 buy-in and applications now open, it could be the biggest Invitational in the tournament’s history.

First Time in Asia

The Triton Invitational is scheduled for September 12–14, 2026, as part of the wider Triton Super High Roller Series Jeju stop at Les A Casino, Shinhwa World , which runs September 4–17.

Jeju has long been one of Triton’s most popular destinations - the tour’s 12 biggest tournaments by field size have all taken place in South Korea, including a record 391 entries to the $25,000 NLH event in 2025. Bringing the Invitational to Asia for the first time has the potential to surpass even the 137-entry field seen in Montenegro in May.

“Bringing the Triton Invitational to Asia for the first time marks a significant milestone for our series,” said Triton Poker Series CEO Andy Wong. “Given the strong community of high-stakes poker enthusiasts across the region, we look forward to introducing new players to the Invitational field.”

The September dates were also chosen deliberately: falling over a weekend to give traveling businesspeople the best possible chance to play.

What Is the Triton Invitational?

The Triton Invitational is unlike anything else on the poker calendar. Each invited amateur - typically a wealthy businessman or high-stakes recreational player - personally selects a professional player to accompany them in the event. The invitee holds the power: they choose their pro.

On Day 1, the two sides of the field play separately. After a set number of levels, the field merges and everyone competes for the same prize pool. The format is designed to create a perfectly balanced, competitive experience for both sides.

It has produced some of the biggest paydays in poker history. Most recently, Adrian Mateos triumphed in Montenegro for a career-best $6,370,000. Previous winners from the Invitee side include Aaron Zang, Ramin Hajiyev, Aleksa Pavicevic, and Alejandro Lococo - the last of whom banked $12,070,000 at WSOP Paradise Triton Millions 2024, the largest single payout in Invitational history.

How to Apply

The Triton Invitational is not a closed shop. Any poker enthusiast with an appropriate bankroll is encouraged to apply, it doesn’t matter whether a player has ever sat down at a Triton event before.

Triton’s dedicated selection committee reviews each application individually, looking at playing experience, involvement in the wider poker scene, and overall fit with the spirit of the tournament. A declined application doesn’t mean the door is closed; Triton regularly revisits applications for future events.
