Taiwan Millions Tournament To Stage Historic US$1 Million Main Event Prize Pool this July

The Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association aka CTP Club has upped the bar on its popular homegrown Taiwan Millions Tournament (TMT) with the upcoming Season 16 Main Event boasting a jaw-dropping USD $1 Milllon guaranteed prize pool.

While this figure may seem ambitious, the beloved tournament’s ever-growing turnout along with CTP’s relentless drive suggest otherwise. The upcoming season aims to attract a much larger crowd as it extends its reach beyond Taiwan. Currently in the works are Main Event Day 1 flights held in Hong Kong, Japan, Philippines, and several other locations. CTP Chief Executive Officer, David Tai said,

“We are thrilled to see the TMT grow each season and are committed to enhancing the experience for our players. Season 16 promises to be our most exciting yet, with a record-breaking prize pool and the inclusion of overseas Day 1 events. We look forward to welcoming players from around the globe to Taiwan.”

The historic event takes place from July 21 to July 29, 2024 at the Asia Poker Arena in Taipei City, Taiwan. Buy in is an affordabe NTD 9,000 (~USD $280).

Taiwan Millions Tournament Through the Years

Since its inception in 2017 that witnessed the Main Event attract a decent 311 entries, the TMT Main Event has now become the largest running low-tiered tournament in the region. In January, TMT 15 drew a roaring 3,891 Main Event entries for a record prize pool of NTD $25.3 Million (~USD $805,900).

Taiwan Millions Tournament – Info

The Taiwan Millions Tournament kicks off on July 11 and will run until July 29, 2024. While the complete event lineup has yet to be revealed, players can be assured plenty of trophies up for grabs. The headliner USD $1 Million guaranteed Main Event opens on July 21 and will run until the last day of the festival.
