The RPT Championship III has reached its halfway point, and the opening week has been a big success. The first part of the schedule brought in huge numbers, starting with a record-breaking opening tournament alongside strong turnouts in the first few trophy events.

The festival started with huge numbers in Event #1: RPT Opener , which set a new record by pulling in 1,720 entries across four starting flights. With a buy-in of just VND 6,600,000 (~USD 250) and an initial guarantee of VND 5 billion (~USD 190,000), the total prize pool almost doubled to reach VND 9,523,400,000 (~USD 361,415).

In the end, local player Anh Tai Do took home the biggest share, winning VND 1,600,000,000 (~USD 60,720). This marks his biggest lifetime live career cash and takes him close to USD 500,000 in total live earnings. Do defeated South Korea’s Jintae Yang in their heads-up match.

Another multi-day event gathered four-digit entries, the RPT Mini Main Event with 1,145 entries. Jingxuan Zhu won the event for VND 2,420,000,000 (~USD 91,850) and a package for the upcoming RPT Championship Grand Final on December 2 to 15, 2026. With this win, Zhu now passes the USD 1.4 million mark in live earnings.

The high roller fields also brought in top international talent, leading to big wins for well-known players. The two-time WPT Championship Main Event champion Marvin Rettenmaier took down the RPT Megastack High Roller for VND 764,200,000 (~USD 29,000). The event featured a VND 2 billion (~USD 76,000) guarantee, drawing 59 entries to build a final prize pool of VND 2,289,200,000 (~USD 86,875).

Rettenmaier said before that he was not really playing that much poker anymore, just choosing what event to play and just living his life, but he still managed to win.

Meanwhile, Junseok Oh won the RPT Super High Roller . This stood as one of the biggest buy-ins in the series at VND 77 million (~USD 2,920) to enter and featured a guarantee of VND 2.5 billion (~USD 95,000). The event gathered 53 entries that built a prize pool of VND 3,598,700,000 (~USD 136,570).

Oh took down the trophy and glory and the top prize of VND 1,210,000,000 (~USD 45,920).

Flagship VND 20 Billion Main Event Begins Tomorrow

RPT Championship III Main Event

While the RPT Tiger Cup with a VND 5 billion (~USD 190,000) guarantee is still ongoing today, and the RPT Super Star Challenge with a VND 3 billion (~USD 114,000) guarantee is set to finish today, the RPT Championship III Main Event is set to start tomorrow.

There will be five flights, and the first flight will start tomorrow at 11:00 AM local time. It features a VND 27,500,000 (~USD 1,040) buy-in and a guarantee of VND 20 billion (~USD 760,000), coming with a bigger buy-in and a bigger guarantee than the last edition.

There will be only one flight tomorrow, with 40 minutes per level, and registration will close at Level 11 at approximately 6:15 PM. There will also be a bonus of VND 80 million (~USD 3,030) for the chip leader.
