RPT Championship II Hanoi: VND 15B GTD Main Event Kicks Off After Massive Opener
While the RPT Championship II Hanoi is underway in its final week inside the Royal Poker Club , the impressive festival has demonstrated its appeal, as all tournaments have exceeded their guaranteed prize pools, making it another huge success in the RPT history books for the prestigious series.
Ryan Mandara Wins RPT Opener Title After Massive Field
Kicking off the action strongly, the RPT Opener Event attracted a massive field of 1,489 entries across four starting flights, generating a staggering prize pool of VND 8,252,980,000 (~$313,313). At the end of the day, it was the United Kingdom’s Ryan Mandara who navigated through the competitive battlefield and captured the opening title after overcoming China’s Tongfei Xu in the final duel. Mandara’s victory earned him the coveted silver tiger trophy along with the first-place payout of VND 1,330,000,000 (~$50,500), as well as 2,295.26 points in his 2026 SPI Scores.

With over $2.1 million in total live earnings, the British poker pro has built his reputation mainly on the European circuit. In early 2026, he showed his ambition to conquer the Asian circuit by winning his very first Asian title at RPT Championship II Hanoi. With this win, he has demonstrated his ability to handle and even overcome a highly competitive field, making his arrival as a serious contender on the Asian poker scene.
Current High Roller Champions
On the first day of the festival, two high roller champions emerged and claimed their first trophies of the series. Vietnam’s Hoai Thanh Phung outlasted a 172-entry field in the RPT High Roller Opener, which created more than double of its guarantee to reach a total prize pool of VND 3,336,800,000 (~$126,677). Another high roller champion came from the United Kingdom, as Kevin Hunter successfully navigated a 27-entry field to claim the title in the RPT Mini High Roller. His win earned him VND 112,000,000 (~$4,255) top prize. Both players not only added a title to their resumes, but also captured their maiden RPT trophies, marking an important milestone in their careers.

The winner of the RPT High Roller Deepstack was American poker pro Robert Kiss . He outmaneuvered a 106-entry field to lift the trophy, taking home the VND 823,000,000 (~$31,250) top prize and earning 1,064.38 SPI points.
