PokerStars brings back APPT and announces PokerStars Players NL Hold’em Championship
In an announcement that has shaken up the live tournament calendar for the coming year, PokerStars has informed the poker world of changes which are on the way. The APPT, EPT and LAPT will be making their return next year.
Return of the APPT
The schedule for next year will begin with theMacau Poker Cup 28 which begins on January 26th.
The 17-day poker festival will feature the legendary Red Dragon Main Event – a HK$15,000 buy-in tournament with a HK$10,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. The Baby Dragon, Megastack, $25,000 NLH, Single Day High Roller and High Roller events arealso part of the schedule of the festival. The MPC28 willinclude a total of 31 official Asia Player of the Year (APOY) events

APPT Macau will follow from March 14th. Alongside the normal prizes on offer at these events, players will also have the chance to win packages to the new PokerStars Players NL Hold’em Championship in Bahamas.
EPT and LAPT also set to return
Along with the return of the APPT, PokerStars has decided to bring back the LAPT and EPT events. Many players were sad to see these tournaments go, with the EPT having grown to become a brand of immense popularity and prestige. Their return in 2018 is certainly an exciting piece of news for the poker world to digest.
$9 Million-AddedPokerStars Players NL Holdem Championship
The PokerStars Players NL Hold’em Championship (PSPC) will be the new jewel in PokerStars’ crown, bringing online and live players together through rewards, satellites and direct buy ins. There will be a year-long run up to this USD$25,000 buy in live tournament, which will take place in the Bahamas in January 2019.
PokerStars has already stated that they will add $1 million to the prize for the 1st place finisher. $8 million in PSPC tournament creditswill also be awarded throughout the year by PokerStars in the form of 300 free PSPC packages, known as Platinum Passes, which have a value of $30,000 (including travel and accommodation).
