Record Turnouts At Poker Dream 11 Malaysia: Main Event Underway Feat. MYR 5M ($1.1M) gtd
Poker Dream is back in Malaysia for another blockbuster festival taking place at Resorts World Genting Highlands, just outside of Kuala Lumpur. As the only brand staging poker events in the country, Poker Dream has consistently raised the bar and the ongoing festival is no exception.

Kicking off on August 1, 2024, Poker Dream Malaysia 11 opened with a hungry crowd of 2,196 entries for Event 1: Malaysia Open. The overwhelming interest generated an event record prize pool of RM 2,408,804 (~$545,000). Malaysia’s Xin Chin walked away as champion, claiming his first ever poker title and a personal best RM 410,000 (~$92,750).
Another record-smasher was Event 19: Mystery Bounty attracting 767 entries, which was 35% more than its previous record (569 entries). This ballooned the prize pool to RM 1,900,000 (~$429,800) and set the top bounty prize at a record RM 140,000 (~$31,700).
Pulling the lucky ticket was Chinese player namedKai while Malaysia’s Ang Yang Siang locked up the win and the RM 238,000 top prize. In addition, Ang collected RM 26,500 in bounties for total winnings of RM 264,500 (~$59,800). This was Siang’s third career win, all from Poker Dream, with this as his career best result.
Several high roller events have also been tabled. An impressive turnout was seen at Event 15: High Roller with 113 entries building a prize pool of RM 1,512,618 (~$342,180). Germany’s Martin Finger, with well over $8 Million in live earnings and numerous wins that include a WSOP bracelet, clinched it to add a Poker Dream title to his portfolio and claim the RM 380,700 (~$86,100) top prize.
With the festival down to its final days, concluding on August 12, 2024, the highlight tournament has been front and center. At the time of writing, only four out of the 13 entry flights remain, all taking place today, August 10. The prize pool guarantee is RM 5,000,000 (~$1.1 Million), which is expected to be easily dusted with pre-game results turning up record numbers. The ultimate goal is to surpass its current record of RM 10,767,152 (~USD 2,268,000) set at Poker Dream 9 Malaysia.
