The Festival Gains Momentum

As the days go by, the atmosphere at NagaWorld intensifies. More and more players arrive, and the poker room becomes even livelier. With over 60 tournaments on the schedule, players have plenty of chances to make their mark, but two events stand out above all—the WPT Prime Cambodia and the WPT Cambodia Championship. These events attract an incredible field and shatter expectations with massive prize pools and unforgettable hands.

The WPT Prime Cambodia event has already set a new record for Asia’s biggest poker tournament, attracting 1,484 entries and generating a prize pool of $1,439,480, nearly doubling its initial $750,000 guarantee. This impressive turnout underscores the growing popularity of poker in the region and solidifies NagaWorld’s reputation as a premier poker destination in Southeast Asia. Players from all over the world came to take part in the event, making it one of the most competitive fields in the WPT Prime circuit.

WPT Prime Winner-Alexander Puchalski; A Second Major Title at the Same Final Table Seat

Alexander Puchalski made history again at NagaWorld, clinching his second major title at this location, remarkably from the same final table seat where he previously won the APPT Cambodia. His incredible performance saw him top a field of 1,484 entries, defeating Khorshad Sagor in a grueling two-and-a-half-hour heads-up battle. He was awarded $233,680 for his victory and an additional  $10,400 seat to the prestigious WPT World Championship in December.

Alexander Puchalski said: “I had the same seat when I won the APPT Cambodia. It’s incredible. It feels like a dream. It’s amazing. I don’t come here that much, but every time I do, I get lucky and win. It is also very nice here in Cambodia.”

The Somuchpoker Team’s Journey at WPT Cambodia

Beyond covering the action, the Somuchpoker team had its own exciting experiences during the festival. Immersed in the poker scene, we made meaningful connections with players, organizers, and fellow media members, strengthening our presence within the industry.

I took my shot at the WPT Prime Cambodia but fell slightly short of making day 2. Despite the setback, the tournament was an incredible experience; I really enjoyed the game, and I gained valuable insights competing against top-level players.
Outside of the tournaments, I jumped into the cash games and found success, securing a solid win at the tables. The deep-stacked game provided thrilling action and a lot of fun.

Beyond poker, we also had the opportunity to indulge in some of the finest dining experiences at NagaWorld. The resort boasts various high-end restaurants, offering a perfect way to unwind after lengthy table sessions.

Additionally, we took time to relax by the pool, We enjoyed the luxurious amenities and soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of Phnom Penh. These moments off the felt added another layer to our unforgettable journey at WPT Cambodia.
