It was a stormy day in Manila, Philippines with a typhoon cancelling classes and some work. However, this did not prevent poker players from making their way to the PokerStars LIVE poker room at Okada Manila to sign up for Day 1B of the inaugural APPT Championship. 194 entries made the buy-in of PHP 165,000 (~US$ 2,850), surpassing yesterday’s (Day 1A) registrants, to compete for their share of the PHP 55,000,000 (~US$ 960,850) guaranteed prize pool.

The combined Day 1 flights will bring a field of 139 players to play another 11 levels. Registration will still be open for one at the start of Day 2, so we can expect the number of total entries to increase. There are currently 359 entries. Those still with chips at the end of Day 2 will come back for another round of poker on Day 3, October 26. Those hopefuls will play until a final table is formed. The final table players will then return on October 27 to determine a champion.

Apart from the guaranteed prize pool of at least PHP 55,000,000 (~US$ 960,850), PokerStars will also be awarding the top three finishers a PHP 175,000 (~US$ 3,000) APPT Cambodia Package which includes a seat and accommodation to the main event.
