Wei Chen Lin Leads KPC Main Event Day 3
Excitement filled the air across the KPC Main Event Day 2 games, with 135 players making their return, all in search of a piece of the KRW 1,000,000,000 (~USD 718,110) prize pool. It wasn’t until the third level of play did the money bubble burst, with China’s Haoyu Huang suffering the brunt right on the feature table. Huang went with pocket queens and unfortunately, ran smack into Xiaohui Wang’s pocket aces. No help came on board, sending Huang out right as the remaining 87 runners locked in a profit.
The battleground saw six more hours of play before action wrapped up with Wei Chen Lin leading the charge, having bagged a final chip count of 1,840,000 (92 BB) over the field. Lin trailed behind day chip leader Cheng Yen Lo, and began his ascent by the last three levels. Lin only managed to inch over the top spot in the last couple of hands after calling out his compatriot’s bluff with a pair. Top three across the order sees all Taiwanese runners holding down the healthiest stacks, with Lo and Chen An Lin, just about nine big blinds behind.
Among those fallen yet still cut a payday include Valeriy Pak (21st), Thijs Hilberts (25th), Chenxu Zhang (30th), Wenwen Chen (33rd), Yita Choong (41st), Shiina Okamoto (43rd), Ying Song (45th), Linghui Dai (47th), Bayar Saran (56th), Xixiang Luo (59th), and Boxin Jin (78th).
Action resumes on Monday, November 25th, 12 noon, with play set to close once the field is down to eight players
