The opening day of The Trial of Wisdom – GOP Taipei 2026 is in the books, with Gods of Poker back in Taiwan for the second time this year.

Seven tournaments got the 77-event festival underway at CTP Asia Poker Arena , headlined by the first Titan Stack Daily and the opening flight of the Titan Stack High Roller.

Wang Wins the First Titan Stack Daily

GOP Taipei
Shi Rong Wang won the opening Titan Stack Daily

The first TWD 5,500 Titan Stack Daily drew 88 entries and offered a healthy overlay against its TWD 777,000 guarantee.

Shi Rong Wang came out on top, winning the final two all-ins heads-up against Chang Yu Lai to take the trophy and TWD 222,800, closing it out with king-queen against queen-ten on a jack-high board with barely a big blind to spare.

The final table featured a memorable triple knockout, chip leader Yu Heng Zhen holding pocket queens against Po Yi Liu’s pocket nines and Jaewon Kim’s pocket aces, spiking a queen to send three players out at once.

Titan Stack High Roller: Edenata and Man Advance

Rudy Edenata

The TWD 110,000 Titan Stack High Roller played two flights, with Rudy Edenata an early front-runner after knocking out Fendy Kosasih and getting the better of Rene von Reden , the APT Main Event winner at this venue two years ago.

Kosasih fired again in the evening flight but ultimately busted, leaving Edenata to face Hong Kong’s Chi Shing Man on the final day for a share of the TWD 576,000 prize pool and the rose GOP gauntlet trophy.

Trophies Elsewhere on Day 1

Rob Hollink won the Midday Mid Stakes event

Local CTP Club favourite Chia Yun Wu made plenty of noise in the TWD 7,700 5-Card PL Omaha Double Board Bomb Pot, but it was Yen Hu Chiu who took the trophy and TWD 39,860 after a heads-up deal.

Dutch veteran Rob Hollink won the TWD 16,500 Midday Mid-Stakes for TWD 108,000, beating Taiwan’s Sheng Ju Shih heads-up.
