Kyung Min Lee and Kenji Hata Bag Big in GOP Main Event
The Gods of Poker Main Event continued to gather pace on Day 5 of GOP Incheon at Paradise City Casino , with another wave of survivors punching their tickets into Day 2 of the KRW 700,000,000 (~USD 480,000) guaranteed headline tournament.
After Day 1A completed its second and final stage, Germany’s Richard Flach emerged as chip leader from the opening flight, while Kenji Hata continued his incredible series run by bagging one of the biggest stacks from Day 1B.
Elsewhere across the festival, players battled through a packed side event schedule that included Open Face Chinese Progressive with 2X Jokers, a deep-run-filled KRW 550,000 No-Limit Hold’em event, and a late-night High Roller Hyper Turbo won by Yi Cheng Lo .
Richard Flach Leads Main Event Day 1A Survivors
The opening flight of the GOP Main Event concluded with just five players surviving from a field of 34 entries. All five players locked up a cash and advanced into Day 2, with Germany’s Richard Flach finishing on top of the counts after bagging 1,018,000 chips.
Japan’s Ryoma Yamamoto continued his red-hot form from earlier in the festival by securing another deep run, while Korea’s Woo Hyon Shin and Japan’s Hayato Kasuya also advanced comfortably.

Kenji Hata Bags Big as Day 1B Wraps Up

The one-day Day 1B flight added another five survivors into the Day 2 field, led by Korea’s Kyung Min Lee with an absolutely huge stack of 1,729,000 chips.
However, one of the biggest stories once again belonged to Kenji Hata . Already one of the standout performers of the festival, Hata is in good shape for another deep run after finishing Day 1B with over a million chips.
With multiple trophies, deep runs, and a serious Player of the Series charge already underway, Hata is quickly becoming one of the defining names of GOP Incheon.

Open Face Chinese Event Crowns Chun Yu Ma

One of the more unique tournaments on the Day 5 schedule was the Open Face Chinese Progressive with 2X Jokers (Round Robin), which attracted 12 entries.
After battling through the specialist mixed-game format, Chun Yu Ma came away with the title and KRW 5,920,000 from the KRW 11,520,000 prize pool.

Atsuki Hayamoto Wins KRW 550K NLH Event

A total of 55 entries turned out for one of the marquee side events of the day, the KRW 550,000 No-Limit Hold’em tournament, generating a prize pool of KRW 26,400,000.
Japan’s Atsuki Hayamoto eventually came away with the title and KRW 8,990,000 after defeating fellow countryman Kenji Hamamoto heads-up.
The final table featured a strong international mix, including Thailand’s Sananthachat Thanapatpisal, who finished fourth.

Yi Cheng Lo Closes Out the Night in High Roller Hyper Turbo

The final event of the night was the KRW 1,210,000 High Roller Hyper Turbo, which drew 25 entries and generated another KRW 26,400,000 prize pool.
After narrowly missing out on the Gold Gauntlet one day earlier, Yi Cheng Lo bounced back immediately by taking down the late-night high roller for KRW 11,550,000.
Lo defeated Japan’s Yoshiyasu Nagayasu heads-up, while Hirohito Marunaka and Kazutoshi Takemoto rounded out the payouts.
