Full house continues at APL Seoul as Main Event Day 1J draws 465 entries, Kim Kwang Yeol bags big
Poker fever continues at Ace Poker League Seoul! Day 2 of the ongoing festival witnessed another jam-packed house as the games raged on at the Swiss Grand Hotel. The top attraction was none other than the Main Event featuring the ₩1,100,000,000 (~US$ 807.460) guarantee, and according to the organizers, that figure has already been breached.
Players have two more chances to enter, October 5 and 6, 2023 starting at 12pm. For those that have already qualified for the next round, take advantage of the daily side events where you can win one of those cool APL trophies. Main Event Day 1J added another 464 runners to bring the total count to 1,320 entries. With buy in at ₩1,385,000 (~US$ 1,015), the prize pool has already surged way past the guarantee. The top prize is currently ₩220,000,000 (~US$ 161,900) with only 150 reaching the money round.
Rising to the top of Main Event Day 1J was South Korea’s Kim Kwang Yeol who bagged up a towering 646,500 that’s equivalent to 129 bb entering Day 2. Kim has overtaken Day 1I chip leader Joo Chul Woong for the overall top spot.
International players have also been spotted at the scene since the start. Among those were Taiwanese players David Tai, I-Wen Chiu, En-Ching Wu aka Jack Wu, and Singapore Poker League’s Jack Liew. Elite pro Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier qualified via a much earlier flight and will be seen at Day 2.
