APPT Manila Championship 2024: APPT Open wraps up final flights; Jeong Seonghun, Pranav Agarwal, and David Green collect top payouts
Day 3 of PokerStars LIVE’s APPT Manila Championship 2024 welcomed another day of thrilling action with several international notables seen across the felt. On the day’s focus were the two final flights for the APPT Open which saw 49 more survivors advance through to Day 2. Four more silver PokerStars spadies were awarded in today’s games with Czardy Rivera taking the biggest payday amongst the list. Side event champions Jeong Seonghun, Pranav Agarwal, and David Green, likewise joined the spotlight, having scored wins across the lineup.

Following fifteen levels of play, APPT Open Flight B closed with another 30 survivors advancing through to Day 2. The second heat welcomed the largest turnout of the three with a total of 172 entries recorded across registration. Indonesia’s Jimmy Tunggadjaja found the largest bag by the end of the night with 372,000, having hero called with bottom pair against Karper Hansen in the last level of play. Two more runners – Stevan Chew and Remigiusz Hajduk, join the top three spots, each stacking just above the 300K mark.
The final flight of the APPT Open officially closed its action with an additional 19 survivors out of the 78-entry field set to return later for Day 2’s games. Australia’s Mathew Wakeman stacked the highest, having shipped three pots out of the last four hands to take the lead with 255,000. Accompanying him across the top counts are Takashi Yagura, Christopher Mateo, and Lester Edoc, all of which bagged over 200,000 in chips.
Seasoned players surviving through include Sean Ooi (186,000), Justin Chu (148,000), Bert Perry (114,000), Julian Warhurst (111,500), Gab Yong Kim (97,000), and Pham Bao (39,000). Local runner Flo Campomanes qualified twice and carries a bigger stack from Flight B of 237,000.
India’s Neel Joshi however, continues to stack above the rest, having ended Flight A with the lead at 452,000. 61 survivors are set to return to the felt, with only 47 players geared to take a share of the PHP 25,000,000 (~USD 433,690) prize pool. Listed up top is PHP 4,835,000 (~USD 83,875), along with the minimum payout at PHP 144,000 (~USD 2,500).

Action for today’s Knockout [₱5K Bounty] games closed with Jeong Seonghun taking the victory over the 162-entry field. The final five contenders cut an ICM deal, leaving only the trophy and the APPT Championship entry to play for. Guaranteed PHP 125,500 (~USD 2,170) in winnings, the Okada regular closed out the win in quick fashion and successfully claimed his maiden PokerStars trophy for his impressive run. Joining in celebration was local runner Paltep Venoni, who bagged the largest share of the PHP 1,264,248 (~USD 21,930) prize pool.

Pranav Agarwal closes out NLH – 20/15/10
An interesting format, the NLH – 20/15/10 side event wrapped up following only six hours on the floor with India’s Pranav Agarwal reigning victorious over the 32-entry field. Agarwal with the lead upon arriving at heads up play against Po Hsun Liao, agreed to an ICM deal guaranteeing him PHP 207,200 (~USD 3,595) in winnings. With only the trophy to play for, Agarwal closed out the win in under half an hour to bag the title.

The final side event to finish across Day 3 of the APPT Manila Championship, Turbo, awarded David Green the victory over the 48-entry field after defeating Jungeun Park in heads up play. The fast paced tournament ran through only six hours of play before the action closed with Green securing the PHP 266,456 (~USD 4,620) top prize and trophy.
