Over 40 Turbo Tournaments Every Tuesday

Beginning October 27, ACR Poker will host more than 40 Turbo tournaments every Tuesday, with starting times spread between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET.

The key feature is a shorter late registration period. Every event in the new Turbo Tuesday lineup has a registration window of two hours or less, allowing tournaments to move through their early stages more quickly.

Players can choose from different buy-ins and formats, including regular Turbo tournaments, Progressive Knockouts (PKOs), and Mystery Bounty events.

The shorter registration periods don't necessarily mean every tournament finishes within few hours. However, they reduce the time players spend competing against newly registered entrants, making the schedule particularly appealing to those who prefer a faster-paced MTT experience.

$500K Mystery PKO Headlines the Weekly Action

Beyond the 40+ single-day events, Turbo Tuesday also features a major weekly tournament: the $500,000 GTD Mystery PKO, with a $630 buy-in and a top mystery bounty of $50,000.

Unlike the regular Turbo Tuesday tournaments, this event runs across multiple days, with 16 Day 1 flights scheduled from Wednesday through the following Tuesday.

The first qualifying flight took place on October 21, while the inaugural Day 2 is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27.

One particularly interesting feature is the ability to combine qualifying stacks.

Players who successfully advance through multiple Day 1 flights can bring their accumulated chips into Day 2. This means securing a Day 2 stack doesn't prevent players from entering additional flights to improve their starting position.

The bounty phase begins on Day 2, when the remaining players compete for both the regular tournament payouts and knockout rewards.

How Does ACR Poker's Mystery PKO Format Work?

The new Mystery PKO format combines two popular knockout mechanics: Mystery Bounties and Progressive Knockouts.

Whenever a player eliminates an opponent during Day 2, a randomly determined mystery bounty is revealed. However, unlike a traditional Mystery Bounty tournament, the entire prize isn't paid out immediately.

Instead, the reward is split into two equal parts:

• 50% is paid immediately to the player who scores the knockout.

• 50% is added to that player's visible progressive bounty, making them a more valuable target for their opponents.

For example, a player who uncovers the tournament's $50,000 top mystery bounty receives $25,000 immediately. The remaining $25,000 is added to their own bounty.

If that player is subsequently eliminated, their accumulated progressive bounty is also split equally between the opponent's immediate payout and their growing bounty.

This creates an interesting dynamic where collecting a major bounty can also make a player one of the most valuable targets remaining in the tournament.
