Panka outlasted China’s Dian Feng “Shandongmenghu” Wang and Israel’s Nir “NIRUSHHH” Amar in a near two hour three-handed battle. Polish pro Dominik Panka closed it out in just over 4.5 hours of final day play for his first WSOP title and dream gold bracelet. Final Day recap

22 players returned with six Asia Pacific players in the running. Only Vincent “Moist” Huang and Dian Feng “Shandongmenghu” Wang reached the final table. Jinho Hong was first to fall (22nd – US$ 13,561), Fan “steve zf” Zhang next in 12th place for US$ 17,756, followed by Sheng “asdf3578” Liu in 11th for US$ 37,789. WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav “OBellaCiao” Iyer was stopped by Natalya “Nikitina N1” Nikitina with Jh9h outdrawing Kd3d, nine on the river. Iyer finished 10th for US$ 17,382. (Hand pictured below)

On the flip side, Dominik Panka and USA pro Chris Moorman were the biggest movers. Moorman charged from 18th rank to the final table, eventually bowing out 7th, and Panka raced from 16th rank to champion. Out of the final 9 players, Moorman was the only WSOP decorated player with two bracelets and one ring. He also carried in the most experience with US$ 6.7 Million in THM tracked earnings. Moorman was on his second final table in this series having finished 4th at the WSOP #6: $200 FLIP & GO No Limit Hold’em. Fellow countryman David “Mclovin86” Mzareulov was also back for a second appearance with a 5th finish at the WSOP #24: $1,050 Bounty Pot Limit Omaha. Up top was Nikitina who placed 12th at the MILLIONAIRE MAKER.

The final table clocked in at just under three hours. Six players fell in the first hour with Panka railing the first three – Vincent “Moist” Huang (9th) with JsJd over Ac10c, Noam “silverplat” Makavy (8th) who check-called all in with KhQh two pair on a board 2s6dKd9s2d to Panka’s Ac2c trips, and Moorman (7th) with Ad9d dusted by 10h10c. This gave Panka a commanding lead which he held until the final three. Due to the number of bounties earned by Huang and Makavy, they cashed out more than Moorman.

Next called shove saw Mzareulov eliminate both Oleg “Pbl6AFiSH” Eltsov (6th) and Nikitina (5th). Against Eltsov, it was pocket Aces over QJ suited, and against Nikitina, Mzareulov’s AsQs spiked the ace to dust pocket Fives. To form the final three, Nir “NIRUSHHH” Amar shut the door on Mzareulov with pocket Aces over pocket Threes.

With the average stack at 71 BB, the three-handed match ran a lengthy one hour and forty-five minutes. During that time, Panka, Wang, and Amar took turns up top. Panka dropped the lowest of 11 .9 BB then recovered on a double up with JsJd beating Amar’s 8d7d on a board 10d4h10s7sQh. (Hand pictured below)

Nearly one hour after that hand, chip leader Amar plummeted to 8 BB on a failed bluff against Wang. On a board 5d7dAsQs5h, Wang checked, Amar fired a big bet, Wang called with 7s6d two pair, Amar had Jd9d missed draw. Several minutes later, Wang finished off Amar with AsQd dominating Ah6d.

Unlike the final three, heads up ran less than ten minutes. At the kickoff, Wang was ahead by just 2 BB. Panka quickly jumped out front and the final hand came down. Panka’s AhJs improved to a straight on a board 10c6sQh10d{ kd} to dust Wang’s 9h9c. Panka locked up the coveted gold and a third win for Poland in this series. For runner up Wang, it was his largest tracked score of US$ 107,117.
