Determining the WSOP’s 81st bracelet event was a spin of the wheel that landed on the $ 1,050 Bounty NLHE Six Handed. Recapping the action from the final table where everyone was seeking their first WSOP title, on the virtual round were two seasoned pros – Moldova’s Pavel Plesuv “EzzzGame” and Finland’s Sami Kelopuro -, six players with no prior live WSOP cashes, and USA’s Michelle Shah “hu4trollzz” who was on her 18th bracelet event cash at the WSOP Online [ international ] series. Molinelli entered as chip leader, Plesuv in 2nd rank.
The first casualty was delivered in 25 minutes with Shah’s hope for a gold vanishing at the hands of Molinelli. It took another forty minutes of chips moving in every direction before Plesuv’s fall to Lukas Hafner “LolGGPok” when two Kings turned up. Israel’s Itai Drory “PokerSmart” was bumped out next. On a turn board , Molinelli shoved, Drory tank-called for everything, Molinelli had top pair, Drory , the river came . Drory exited with a career high $ 31,303.12 payout.
Not long after, Kelopuro’s paired the Ace to dust Aleksandr Grishchuk “Srinavasan” in 6th place. This was also Grishchuk’s largest career cash, just edging his previous high score by $ 6k.
The five handed round was a lengthy battle running for one hour. During that time, China’s Longyun Li “Mr Li” andHafnerfound their way to the top. Kyle Menard “Eskimo Bro” stole command after booting Kelopuro in 5th place with improving to a nut flush to dust pocket Kings. Menard continued to dominate, sending Li out in 4th place.
Heavy action followed. Menard and Molinelli drained out Hafner who eventually risked it with only bang into Molinelli’s . This gave Molinelli a slight advantage entering heads up against Menard.
The final battle for the gold ran for nearly an hour. With only five seconds in their time bank, both players felt the pressure. Molinelli led the reace throughout while Menard played catch up. Several minutes after the 14th break of the day, Menard shoved on a board , Molinelli check-called with top pair and shipped it, becoming the 48th bracelet winner this series. For Menard, it was his fourth WSOP Online [ international ] cash and largest known tournament score.
