Fedor Holz vs Sergi Reixach

German superstar Fedor Holz secured his seat to the semis after defeating the favored American pro Justin Bonomo at the quarters. It was a match for the storybooks with both highly revered as masters of the game. In WSOP achievements, Bonomo was up on Holz sporting three titles to the German’s one. Bonomo’s included a win at the 2018 WSOP $ 10K Heads Up No Limit Hold’em Championship.

The battle lasted nearly an hour with the German pro dominating the action. Holz drained Bonomo to force a push with Qc5h that didn’t improve against Holz’s AsJh. Before facing Bonomo, Holz defeated Lucas Greeenwood(round 1), Anton Morgenstern (round 2), Robert Flink (round 3), and George Wolff (round 4).

Holz will face Spanish pro Sergi Reixach who was first to enter the semis. Reixach defeated Aaron Van Blarcum in just under 30 minutes with 8s5s two pair at the flop cracking KsKh. Excluding this event, Reixach has been running hot this series with nine deep runs that included two final tables and 9th at the $10K Heads Up Championship won by David Peters. He also has 31 prior WSOP cashes amounting to $719K. To reach the quarters, Reixach defeated Bernd Glessner (round 1), Lucas Reeves (round 2), Aleksandar Trajovski (round 3), and the most difficult was bracelet winner Dmitry Yurasov (round 4).

Oktay Kahyaoglu vs Brunno Botteon

Turkey’s Oktay Kahyaoglu outshined in the ring denying Australian high roller / bracelet winner Michael Addamo at round 4. Addamo was hoping to take it all the way this time after falling in 2nd place toPeters at the earlier heads up shootout. Down to a short stack, Addamo risked it with KhJd however it stayed behindKahyaoglu’s KsQh. At the quarters, Kahyaoglu defeated Stuart Wallensteen who river shoved to doom with mid pair against Kahyaoglu’s top pair. Other than one other deep run this series, the Turk had no prior WSOP cashes. Wherever he places, he will have earned his largest career score. Other players that fell to Kahyaoglu were Pedro Velasco (round 1), ring winner Martin Zamani (round 2), and Thorel Jean-Noel (round 3).

On the opposite side of the stats is Brazilian pro Brunno Botteon who Kahyaoglu will face at the semis. At round 2, Botteon delivered a harsh blow to Canadian pro Daniel Negreanu with quads over full house.

At round 3, he was first to ship it railing Daniel Smith (round 3), then hot running player Luke Sneath (round 4). To secure his seat to the semis, Botteon eliminated Jason McConnon at the quarters with AdJc turning the Ace to crack KdKh. The Brazilian pro has been firing up the virtual felt this series with ten prior deep runs that included two final tables. He is looking to improve to a first gold having just missed it at the WSOP #67: $ 500 Limit Hold’em finishing runner up to Austria’s Gregor Muller and bowing out 6th at WSOP #70: $25K NLH POKER PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP won by Germany’s Christian Rudolph.
