“It’s Just the Best Tournament Series There Is” Says Fedor Holz After Montenegro Victory
Triton Montenegro 2026 has delivered another full-circle moment in the tour’s 10th anniversary year, with Fedor Holz winning the $40,000 NLH Mystery Bounty for the fifth Triton Poker title of his career.
A decade after winning the first-ever tournament on the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series , Holz returned to the winner’s circle at the Maestral Resort & Casino in Pržno, Montenegro , topping a 111-entry field and locking up $528,811 from the main prize pool.

A Decade Later, Holz Still Has It

Holz’s latest victory came in an event carrying a $4,440,000 prize pool, with half of that total set aside for the mystery bounty portion. The German pro secured the title, the trophy, and 11 bounty tokens, each worth a minimum of $40,000.
That means Holz has already added at least another $440,000 to his score, with the final bounty values to be revealed during the ceremony on Monday evening. With the biggest prizes still hidden, another seven-figure Triton result is firmly on the table.
“I felt good throughout the whole tournament and I got lucky in the right spots,” Holz said after the win.
The result carries extra weight given Triton’s 10th anniversary celebrations. Back in 2016, Holz won a $200,000 buy-in event in the Philippines for more than $3 million, becoming the first Triton champion. Ten years later, he is now also the tour’s most recent winner.
“It means a lot. The first Triton was definitely very different than 10 years later. They’ve come a long way. They put together the best tournament series in the world and there’s a reason why this is the one I play once or twice a year. I have an incredible time. It’s just the best tournament series there is.”
Holz Takes Control at Triton Montenegro

The $40,000 Mystery Bounty played out across May 16-17, with 111 entries including 38 re-entries. Only 24 players made it through the opening day, with Holz already in a dangerous position near the top of the counts.
From there, he quickly moved past fellow German Leonard Maue and took control of the tournament. Once Holz had the lead, there was little anyone could do to slow him down.
The field continued to shrink until only Holz and Aleks Ponakovs remained. Ponakovs made Holz work for it, twice fighting back from the edge of elimination, but the comeback could only last so long.
Holz eventually closed it out to move into the group of five-time Triton champions, joining one of the most exclusive lists in high roller poker.
Ponakovs Takes Second After Heads-Up Deal

Ponakovs finished runner-up for $407,189 after agreeing to an ICM heads-up deal with Holz. The Latvian also bagged three bounty tokens of his own, giving him a chance to boost that total further during the bounty ceremony.
Nick Petrangelo finished third for $245,000, while Maue took fourth for $203,000. Mike Watson , Jean-Noel Thorel , and Mikhail Soltanov rounded out the final seven.
