Chengcai Pan Leads Final Six in the 2026 WPT Cambodia Championship Event

Only 14 players out of an 425-entry strong field returned to their seats in the lavish Grand Ballroom at the five-star NagaWorld Integrated Resort in Phnom Penh, all with their eyes set on making the next step to the grand final in the 2026 WPT Cambodia $3,500 Championship Event.

Once the last final nine players were reached, it took 86 hands to reduce the field to the final six hopefuls and there were consecutive eliminations to conclude the action for the night. The lion's share of the $1,500,000 guaranteed prize pool is still up for grabs and all six finalists have already locked up at least $63,000 for their efforts.

Leading the way by a mere two big blinds is Chengcai Pan from China with 5,075,000 and right behind him is Malaysia's Pang Kok "Barry" Yong with 4,925,000. Throughout the day, the jovial Yong talked up a storm just like he had been doing the previous days at the poker tables in the Kingdom of Cambodia. He finished third in the 2026 WPT Prime $1,100 Championship Event and has unfinished business from then.

In the middle of the pack are Micheal O'Neill (3,900,000) and Xiaosheng Zheng (3,675,000), while Kunal Patni (2,375,000) and Winamax ambassador Julien Sitbon (1,250,000) complete the line-up for tomorrow's grand finale.

First casualty of the day was Aussie Neng Zhao, who ran ace-four suited into the ace-king of Patni and couldn't better his 8th place finish from the previous year. Fabian Rolli followed suit thereafter and Khoi Le Nguyen bowed out from a very topsy-turvy secondary table. Vidar Oie and Jiaxian Pan then missed the nine-handed final table, which was led by Patni and Zheng.

David Wang was among the healthy stacks when play recommenced but he dropped to the middle of the pack before flopping top pair and top kicker. O'Neill moved all-in with a flush draw and gutshot straight draw and instantly completed the flush on the turn to leave Wang drawing dead.

Yong dropped to the bottom of the leaderboard but talked his way through multiple pots to climb back out of the danger zone, also getting through and showing two bluffs. Alen Bakovic then ran with ace-queen suited into the ace-king suited of Pan and that reduced the field to the final seven. One one more elimination was needed to end the night and it came in the very next hand.

In four-way action, Yong slow-played pocket kings preflop and flopped top set. Only Pedro Coloma stuck around and called all-in with second pair on the river to become the final casualty of the night.

There will be one hand remaining at blinds of 50,000-75,000 with a big blind ante of 75,000 and the action for the final day of the tournament is set to recommence at 11.30 a.m. local time on Monday, February 9, 2026.

HAND #86: Chengcai Pan raises to 150,000 and Pedro Coloma calls in the cutoff, as does Pang Kok Yong on the button and Micheal O'Neill in the big blind. They check the K♠ J♣ 4♠ flop to Coloma, who bets 200,000 and gets called only by Yong in the next seat.

Coloma slows down on the 7♥ turn and Yong bets 600,000, which the Spaniard calls.

Coloma then also checks the 5♠ on the river which completes a possible flush. Without any table chat, Yong moves all-in and Coloma snap-calls.

Yong tables his K♦ K♥ for the slow-played kings preflop for top set on the flop. Coloma is visibly upset and briefly exposes his A♥ J♥ for a pair of jacks before storming off the feature table.

Chengcai Pan raises to 150,000 and on the very next seat, Alen Bakovic tanks then three-bets 1,300,000. Action folds around back to Pan who shoves and Bakovic snap-calls for his tournament life.

HAND #77: Alen Bakovic opens 150,000 from hijack and wins the blinds and ante with no callers.

HAND #78: Out of the hijack seat, Xiaosheng Zheng opens 150,000, down the orbit big blind Micheal O'Neill three-bets 475,000, Zheng tanks for one time bank then flats.

At the flop of 6♠ 7♦ A♣, O'Neill continues for 200,000, and again Zheng flats.

O'Neill slows down on the turn 6♦ Zheng puts him to the test with a bet of 350,000, O'Neill tanks-then calls to complete the runout with the river. O'Neill checks again, Zheng checks back then mucks to O'Neill's K♠ K♥

HAND #79: Small rush for O'Neill who just won the hand then open-jams on the small blind. He wins the blinds and ante with Julien Sitbon not defending.

HAND #80: Action folds to the small blind Sitbon who open-jams and gets through with no call from the big blind Chengcai Pan.

HAND #81: After winning the previous hand, Sitbon raises 150,000 on the button, small blind Chengcai Pan three-bets all in which is good enough to push out the remaining players.

HAND#82: Sitbon open jams at cutoff and gets this one through with no one willing to challenge.

HAND #83: No action until the small blind Zheng opens 250,000 to win the big blind and ante with Pedro Coloma folding on the big blind.

HAND #84: Coloma limps on the small blind and big blind Pang Kok Yong raises to 200,000. Coloma defends and they see a flop run 6♣ 6♦ 9♦. Yong continues to fire a 75,000 bet and Coloma check-calls. Yong barrels again after the turn comes 6♥ but this time Coloma folds to the 175,000 bet.

HAND #72: Zheng raises to 150,000 and Kunal Patni calls in the cutoff. The Q♠ T♦ 7♠ flop brings a bet of 200,000 by Zheng and Patni folds.

HAND #73: Zheng raises to 150,000, Pan and Alen Bakovic call. They check to Zheng on the Tc6s3h[/p] flop and Zheng wins it with a bet of 175,000.

HAND #74: Patni raises to 150,000. Micheal O'Neill calls, Pan comes along and Bakovic does so also in the small blind. Zheng in the big blind squeezes to 975,000 and forces everyone out.

HAND #67: Pang Kok Yong limps in and jokingly says "I just want to see a flop". Julien Sitbon raises to 200,000 and it folds back to Yong.

"I am not sure if I am trapping you, or if reraise," Yong ponders and then just calls.

On the T♠ 7♠ 3♣ flop, Yong checks and Sitbon bets 200,000. Yong check-raises to 450,000 and Sitbon uses one time bank before he folds.

Yong smashes the Q♣ 9♣ on the felt.

"Sorry bro, this is poker," the Malaysian adds.

Hand #60-66: Pang Kok Yong Forced To Min-Raise

HAND #60: Xiaosheng Zheng opens 150,000 and Pang Kok Yong defends on the big blind. Zheng lays out a continuation bet on a flop J♥ 4♥ 2♣ Yong fires a check-raise to 300,000 and takes down the pot after a fold from Zheng.

HAND #61: After losing a pot to Yong, Zheng raises again for 150,000 and finds no callers to win the blinds and ante.

HAND #62: Out of the cutoff seat, Pedro Coloma raises to 175,000, small blind Kunal Patni challenges with a 500,000 three-bet and it's enough to win the pot with Coloma not willing to top up.

HAND #63: Action is checked to Patni on the button, he raises to 150,000. Big blind Julien Sitbon calls then surrenders his hand after Patni's follow-up bet of 100,000 on a flop of A♦ A♣ 7♣

HAND #64: Battle of raises begins with Yong at hijack for 150,000, cutoff Patni makes it 400,000, then button Micheal O'Neill drives it further north to 875,000. Yong folds then Patni follows behind, giving up his stake in the pot.

HAND #65: Xiaosheng Zheng min-raises from under the gun and two spots over, Yong announces a raise and lays out 175,000. The dealer corrects him and says the minimum is 225,000. Yong is surprised to discover there is a raise before him and is forced to only put in the minimum of 225,000.

With everyone else folding around, Zheng calls then they both check the flop A♠ 7♥ A♣ Zheng takes a chance at the turn 4♣ for 325,000 and Yong calls. The river T♠ brings them back to checking.

Zheng is first to show J♦ 9♦ Yong claims the pot with Q♦ Q♣

Hand #46-50: Chengcai Pan Catches Julien Sitbon's Bluff

HAND #46: Pang Kok Yong limps in on the button, Kunal Patni follows suit on the small blind and Micheal O'Neill checks the big blind for three-way to the flop of 9♠ 3♣ T♦ The blinds check to Yong who tosses in 75,000 and the blinds call for the three-way to stay intact to the turn 3♦

Upon seeing the board pair, Yong checks out of turn. After Patni checks, Micheal O'Neill leads out 250,000, Yong folds and Patni calls. The river 3♥ is checked again by Patni then runs out of gas on O'Neill's 500,000 bet.

Yong is given a two hand penalty for acting out of the for the second time.

HAND #47: No callers to Xiaosheng Zheng's min-raise to win the blinds and ante.

HAND #48: Action folds to the small blind Julien Sitbon, he limps in and gets to see a cheap flop with Chengcai Pan checking. Both players check a spread of A♣ 2♦ T♦ then Sitbon bets 60,000 on the turn 8♠ Pan calls to complete the runout with the river 8♦ that pairs the board.

Sitbon fires again, a larger 155,000 bet. Pan tanks for one time extension then calls. Sitbon shows 6♥ 7♦ bluff, Pan turns over K♠ Q♣ king-high and wins the pot.

HAND #49: Pang Kok Yon raises 130,000 at lojack and Alen Bakovic defends on the big blind. Following a check from Bakovic at a flop of 4♥ 8♠ 5♦ Yong continues for 80,000 and Bakovic calls.

Both players check the turn 6♠ and Bakovic checks again on the river 9♠ Yong test-bets 175,000 and after burning a time extension, Bakovic lets go of his hand.

HAND #50: Julien Sitbon limps in at cutoff then folds to Chengcai Pan's 400,000 three-bet.

HAND #28: Alen Bakovic raises to 120,000 in the cutoff and Pang Kok Yong calls in the big blind. They check the 9♣ 6♦ 5♣ flop and 8♥ turn.

"I bet, he folds ... two fifty," Yong announces on the Q♣ river but only puts in 175,000. His verbal bet is standing but even before that gets corrected, Bakovic already folds.

HAND #29: A walk for Kunal Patni, who shows "the best ace" with the A♠

HAND #30: "Raise on the button, min is enough," Yong declares and makes it 120,000 to go. Micheal O'Neill calls in the big blind and they check to the A♥ A♣ Q♣ K♦ 2♥ river. O'Neill checks again and Yong wants to bet when O'Neill already folds.

Since the action is not completed yet, O'Neill receives a one hand penalty while Yong wins the pot.

HAND #31: Patni opens to 125,000 on the button and wins the blinds. O'Neill returns from his penalty after around 45 seconds with a bottle of water.

"Back from your penalty?" Bakovic jokes and the Irish player replies "yeah, I am feeling refreshed".

HAND #32: Xiaosheng Zheng steals the blinds with a raise to 120,000.

HAND #33: Yong raises to 120,000 and Julien Sitbon flat-calls on the button. They check to the J♥ 9♥ 9♠ 2♦ 5♠ river on which Yong says "I value bet" and makes it 60,000 to go. Sitbon calls and tosses the chips to Yong already, who has the best hand with the A♥ Q♣

In a long hand that lasts a few minutes into the new level, Pedro Coloma raises to 55,000 and Kunal Patni comes along on the button as does Xiaosheng Zheng in the big blind. The 9♦ 7♥ 3♦ flop is checked to Coloma and he continues for 110,000, picking up two calls once more.

After the 4♥ turn, the trio checks and the Q♦ follows on the river. Zheng uses one time bank and then bets 225,000. Coloma folds and Patni confirms the sizing with the dealer before he slides out a raise to 570,000.

Out of the cutoff seat, Micheal O'Neill min-raises, small blind Pang Kok Yong three-bets 80,000, O'Neill takes a look at Yong's stack behind and announces all in. Yong snap-calls and thinks he is flipping. Upon showing, he is in trouble with bottom pair behind and is covered.

Yong is in the brink of elimination when the flop comes J♠ 9♣ 5♣ for a set to O'Neill. The turn 7♣ brings Yong hope with a flush draw then bang! The river comes Q♣ for the flush to defy elimination and stun O'Neill in disbelief.

David Wang on the big blind further stressed how lucky Yong was saying, "I folded deuces. I knew he was dead when he turned over deuces. That's the sickest hand I've seen."

Yong proceeds to apologize to O'Neill who takes a breather after paying out the double up.

Final 14 Players Kick Off Day 4 of the WPT Cambodia Championship Event Season 24

From a starting field of 425 entries, the WPT Cambodia Championship Event Season 24 is down to just 14 players, each one now one step closer to clinching the title and having their name forever commemorated on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup.

When play resumes at the Grand Ballroom of NagaWorld Integrated Resorts in capital city Phnom Penh, the remaining contenders have already locked in a minimum payout of USD 18,300, however, all eyes are on the top prize where the champion stands to claim the lion’s share of the USD 1,500,000 prize pool worth USD 304,600*. That mighty haul includes a coveted USD 10,400 seat to the season-ending WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas.

The goal for the penultimate tournament day is to reach the final six players. Leading the race is

Jiaxian Pan with 2,335,000 (93 bb) in chips trailed closely by Chengcai Pan with 2,240,000 (90 big blinds). Both players are seated at the same table.

Over at the other table, Julien Sitbon sits in command with 2,080,000 (83 big blinds) and Day 3 starting chip leader Pedro Coloma close behind with 1,990,000 (80 big blinds).

Also firmly in contention and looking to improve on their previous WPT deep run are Indian live poker veteran Kunal Patni who sits in the middle of the pack with 1,600,000 (64 big blinds), third-place finisher of the recently concluded 2026 WPT Prime Cambodia Championship Event Pang Kok Yong with 1,105,000 (44 big blinds), and Neng Zhao who finished in 8th place one year in this exact same event with a stack of 755,000 (30 big blinds).

Day 4 kicks off at 11:30 AM local time on Sunday, February 8, with 44:54 minutes remaining in Level 21 with blinds of 15,000-25,000 and a big blind ante of 25,000. The average stack is a deep 60 big blinds. Levels continue to increase every 90 minutes.
