The Championship Champion To Be Crowned Today
A record 1,050 entries began this event through four (4) day one flights, but only 133 qualifiers will have seats entering today's Day 2 Final to compete until a champion is crowned.
China's Chen Xiong sits at the chip leader throne among all contenders with 1,643,000 chips. Chen Peng, also of China, ranks second with 1,643,000. Great Britain's Jun Li is at a distant third with 980,000.
Chen Xiong recently made a runner-up finish at Poker Dream 13 Malaysia in the Super High Roller event, marking his biggest career cash for over USD 150,000. If Xiong can keep his stack on track, then he could be on the way to another huge payday.
Chen Peng made a cash already in this series, but his most significant achievement was a recent championship in September's USOP Hai Phong, where he won the High Roller: Megastack.
Jun Li's last championship win was back in August this year at the Red Dragon Poker Tour Super Stack Classic in Jeju, Korea. While Li has made significant cashes since then, a hunt for another champion is in focus.
Other notable players to watch for in the field include recent USOP Hai Phong Grand Finale winners like John Perry (High Roller Warm Up Single Day), Hon Cheong Lee (High Roller 6-Max), Edgaras Kausinis (Super High Roller), Jessica Cassell (Tag Team) and Kim Doyeon (NLH Event).
All eyes will be focused on the top prize of VND 3.7 BILLION (~USD 145,700) while everyone who enters today is already guaranteed at least VND 42,000,000 (~USD 1,650).
Congratulations to all players and good luck!
