Jeju Open Mystery Bounty (900,000 KRW)

After three opening flights that attracted a total of 475 entries, shattering the GTD of KRW 180 million to become the biggest KPC Mystery Bounty on record with a combined prize pool of KRW 363,290,000 (~USD 264,406) Weiwi Tang is crowned the new champion.

"I'm so excited! After all, it is my first trophy in live poker. I may seem very calm now but inside I’m feeling nothing but psyched!"

The runner-up at April's KPC Main Event for his first tournament cash ever of a whopping KRW 160,000,000 (~$112,590) battled through a field of 61 that started Day 2 earlier today, lifting his first ever trophy and takes home his second biggest cash of KRW 45,000,000 (~$32,895) plus KRW 8,000,000 (~$5,824) in total bounties for a combined payout of KRW 53,000,000 (~$38,586). Asked about Jeju and the KPC being his new favorite destination he said:

"Yes! I come from Guangzhou, a city not far from Jeju Island, so the transportation is convenient for me, for starters. And it’s my second time playing in KPC, which I think is a very professional poker brand. I feel assured and comfortable participating in the Series.

Finishing in second place in my first live event ever surely has been a driving force to me."

He will be playing in the Main Event again in the coming days to turn last KPC's runner-up finish into another victory.

"To be honest, I basically knew nothing about tournaments when I first started. So, I have spent lots of time studying, through poker videos and taking training lessons from famous pros. And I still keep doing it, because I believe you can never learn too much."

Dead on arrival, Zhang gets up before the dealer flips over the insignificant 3♠ , more than doubling his career live earnings and making Weiwi Tang the new KPC Mystery Bounty Champion.

No help arrives for He on Q♠ 4♥ T♦ 3♥ 3♦ letting him make history at the KPC Mystery Bounty by breaking his $1,000,000 mark in live earnings. What an achievement!

Hand #57: Button Weiwi Tang lays out 325,000, but folds when Zong Chi He puts out a massive three-bet.

Hand #58: Small blind He limps and Tang takes the offer for a free 3♥ 5♣ 8♥ flop that gets checked to the Q♣ turn. Tang's 160,000 bet gets called before he takes it down on the river 4♦ with another 425,000 that goes unanswered.

Hand #59: Button He opens 325,000 once more and big blind Baofeng Zhang defends to see the flop 2♠ 5♠ 7♠ where Zhang folds to a 300,000 c-bet.

Hand #60: Small blind Zhang limps, He opts for a free flop that gets checked to the river 7♦ 9♥ 4♠ 2♦ J♥ where Zhang forks out a 250,000 bet that gets the job done.

Everybody likes a chop, except the dealer who tables 2♦ Q♥ Q♣ Q♦ 4♦ , giving Zhang a flush to break the tie.

The board runs 8♠ 2♦ 2♥ T♥ , putting Tang on the brink of elimination, but the river 9♥ draws him back to solid ground, taking a huge double up with a last minute straight.

No help for Shih - 3rd place finisher of last KPCs Jeju Cup for $18K - on Q♦ Q♣ 8♥ 6♣ 5♣ and one of the most aggressive players on the final table leaves the field.

Hand #44: Button Baofeng Zhang raises to 245,000 and big blind Weiwi Tang defends to see the flop 2♣ 9♦ J♥ where Zhang's 180,000 continuation does the trick.

Hand #45: Under the gun Zhang makes it 245,000 again and big blind King Lun Shih fills up for the flop K♠ T♠ 6♣ to hit the felt. Zhang's 200,000 c-bet gets called, the turn T♥ is checked to the 2♠ river and another 225,000 from Zhang goes unanswered.

Hand #46: Small blind Shih takes back some with a 1,600,000 jam and Zhang lets it go.

Hand #40: Zong Chi He makes it 400,000 from the small blind to collect the dead money.

Hand #41: Weiwi Tang does the same with a 2,700,000 jam.

Hand #42: First to act He opens 240,000 and big blind Baofeng Zhang defends before folding to a 200,000 c-bet from He on the A♥ 2♦ 2♠ flop.

Hand #43: Zhang limps his small blind and He opts to check for the J♣ 8♣ 9♦ to hit the felt which gets rejected for a free 2♥ turn. Zhang leads 250,000 and gets called, the board completes J♥ and Zhang is back to a check. He just hit trips with Q♠ J♠ and determines 850,000 is the best size for a value bet and gets paid by Zhang with T♣ 8♦ .

Hand #38: Small blind King Lun Shih pushes Baofeng Zhang off of his big blind with a 260,000 raise.

Hand #39: Button Shih opens 240,000 and big blind Zong Chi He defends to see the flop 6♥ 7♣ A♥ that has He call a 225,000 c-bet before the 3♥ turn and J♥ river get checked down with He's 9♦ 7♥ winning over Shih's K♦ 9♠ .

Hand #31: King Lun Shih opens 200,000 from the button, but lets it go after small blind Baofeng Zhang upped it to 550,000.

Hand #32: Under the gun Shih puts out another 200,000 and takes both blinds to the 9♠ Q♥ Q♠ flop where his 225,000 continuation gets called by small blind Zong Chi He for a heads up turn 4♠ . A 350,000 second barrel is called again and the A♠ river gets checked with Shih's T♦ T♣ taking it down against He's K♦ 9♣ .

Another board of blanks on 2♦ 3♦ T♥ 2♠ 5♥ keeps Zhang ahead and sends Chen home who adds at least another KRW 10 million (~$7,273) for drawing the 3rd biggest bounty just before the final table started.

All blanks on 8♣ 2♦ 3♣ 8♠ 4♦ keeps He ahead and Su finishes banking the biggest cash of her young live poker career including the KRW 28 million (~$20,369) top bounty.

No miracle for Yao on 5♥ K♥ 7♦ 6♣ 7♥ and we are down to the last six players.

Hand #18: Another min-raise from Baofeng Zhang gets called by big blind Weiwi Tang and gets checked down once more on 5♥ K♥ 2♠ K♠ 8♣ with Zhang's A♥ 3♦ beating Tang's Q♦ 4♦ .

Hand #19: Button King Lun Shih wants 160,000, but lets it go after Zhang increased to 390,000 from the small blind.

Hand #20: First to act Yu Han Su lays out 160,000 and takes two customers to the T♦ J♦ J♠ flop that gets rejected for a free turn K♠ where button Zhang puts out a feeler for 160,000 and only big blind Tang sticks around. The board completes J♣ and Zhang's 500,000 is enough to get the job done.

Hand #17: Under the gun Baofeng Zhang min-raises, small blind Qingshan Yao jams 170,000, big blind King Lun Shih calls and Zhang does the same. The board A♥ 7♦ 3♥ J♦ 5♥ receives a friendly check down from the two big stacks and Yao's Q♥ 5♣ is good enough against Zhang's Q♠ 8♠ and Shih's 6♠ 3♦ .

Hand #13: Yu Han Su opens 150,000 from under the gun and finds no callers.

Another beat graces the table on 8♠ J♣ 4♠ 3♠ K♦ , keeping He alive and stopping Shih's rise.

Lights out for Yang on Q♥ A♣ Q♠ 4♥ 3♠ and Shih continues his ascent.

Hand #7: Baofeng Zhang opens 125,000 from the hijack with 8♠ 3♠ and finds no callers.

Hand #8: Zhang lays out 125,000 again from +2 and big blind Qingshan Yao defends to lay eyes on the flop 3♥ 8♦ 2♣ where he calls Zhangs 100,000 c-bet before folding to a 250,000 second barrel on the 7♥ turn.

Another beat gets dealt on the board Q♦ 5♥ 8♦ Q♣ 7♦ and Shih chips up once more.

Hand #5: Button Baofeng Zhang opens 125,000 with 3♣ 2♣ and big blind Weiwi Tang defends holding A♦ 9♥ to see the flop 2♥ 6♦ T♠ where Zhang continues for 90,000 and Tang calls. The turn 4♦ and river 9♠ get checked down and Tang picks up a small pot.

Hand #3: Cutoff Qingshan Yao makes it 120,000 holding A♠ 5♥ , but lets it go when faced with an 1,100,000 jam from King Lun Shih with 5♠ 5♣ out of the small blind.

Hand #4: Cheng Chen leads 120,000 from the lojack and hijack Yao flats to see the flop 3♣ 3♦ 7♣ where Chen's 75,000 c-bet gets called for the 5♥ turn to hit the felt. Chen slows down to a check and Yao's 200,000 is big enough to get the job done.

Hand #1: First to act King Lun Shih opens 100,000 and big blind Haoran Yang defends to see the flop Q♥ K♠ 6♦ where Shih's 80,000 c-bet gets the job done.

Congrats to him and good luck to the rest for picking the 2nd biggest bounty of KRW 18 Million (~$13,101) that is still left in the pile.

Baofeng Zhang is absolutely in control, but Zong Chi He has position on him and is arguably the strongest player left in the field. This makes for a great Final 9 with lots of interesting hands to come!

Peng Deng is in great shape, dominating the chip leader, but that hasn't meant much today as it doesn't this time when the dealer immediately delivers the three outer for Zhang on 2♥ K♠ 4♣ Q♠ 3♠ , making Peng Deng - who started the day in 4th and was among the top stacks most of the day - the bubble boy and giving Zhang an even more commanding lead.

Making it interesting until the end, the dealer flips over 9♥ T♦ K♥ K♦ 4♣ , eliminating the underdog and letting Yu Han Su's wild roller coaster ride today reach new heights.

Gao's heart skips a beat when the dealer tables Q♣ J♠ Q♠ A♠ , giving Zhang a flush that puts him on the edge of elimination, but a lovely look in the dealer's eyes is enough to make her conjure up an ace from space on the river A♦ to keep him alive.

Under the gun King Lun Shih opens 80,000 and calls after Baofeng Zhang increased the fee to 200,000 from the button to see the 8♥ K♣ 6♣ flop. Shih check calls a 150,000 c-bet, the turn 7♣ hits the felt and a 350,000 second barrel from Zhang is enough to make Shih fold, who loses two time banks in the process.

Everything is looking peachy for Huang on 5♥ 2♠ 8♥ 8♠ , getting ready to collect two bounties and a massive jump on the leaderboard before the dealer turns it pear shaped on the river K♠ , handing Chen a quadruple up with a flush and granting Zhang a huge side pot with top pair.

Chien Yu Lin finishes 15th KRW 2,450,000 (~$1,790) and Zhenfang Huang collects a pay jump in 14th for KRW 2,970,000 (~$2,170).

Baofeng Zhang is still ahead on table 32 and Peng Deng Dominates table 33.

Away from our eyes on the feature table Erdun Xu leaves the field.

With the board 4♦ 6♣ Q♥ 8♥ 4♣ running all blanks, Shih stays ahead, collects a bounty ticket and more than doubles up just before getting to the last two tables.

With KRW 2,070,000 (~$1,515) secured already, Zong Chi He breaks into the $1M live earners club during the KPC Mystery Bounty, no matter what happens from here on out.

He gets the ball rolling with a raise to 65,000 from the button and big blind Zhenfang Huang defends to see the T♦ Q♦ 8♦ flop that gets rejected for a free 4♥ turn. He's 110,000 delayed c-bet finds a call, the board completes 3♠ and two checks reveal Huang as the winner with 8♣ 5♣ mid pair.

Things are looking grim for short stack Gao when the dealer flips over J♣ A♥ T♥ 2♠ but a miracle T♦ on the river grants him a triple up and leaves Huan Wen on life support.

Shih's kicker stays in play on 7♠ A♠ K♣ T♣ 3♥ for a clean double up.

Baofeng Zhang wants 30,000 from +1, but decides to let it go when hijack Zhenfang Huang upped it to 90,000, granting him his 3rd consecutive pot without a showdown.

Getting to the action on the river 8♠ A♠ 7♦ 8♦ K♠ with 355,000 up for grabs Weiwi Tang uses a time bank before over betting 500,000 from the hijack and Yu Han Su - fresh from drawing the top bounty - lets it go, handing three time banks to the dealer.

Yu Han Su - November's AJPC Mystery Bounty Champ for $16,080 and one of the last women standing - just drew the biggest bounty of KRW 28 Million (~USD 20,379) making it the biggest live cash of her still short career.

The remaining 24 players left in the running still have the 2nd and 3rd biggest bounties of KRW 18M and KRW 10M left in the pool.

With 144,000 in the middle and the board showing 2♣ 9♥ J♦ we see cutoff Yubin Xie lead 60,000 and button Peng Deng fills up to then check down the turn T♠ to the river 7♣ . Xie forks out a 50,000 blocker with A♠ A♥ and Deng takes the offer before throwing his cards in the muck.

From being chip leader for most of the day, Qingshan Yao just doubled up Erdun Xu and is involved in a big pot again. The action is already on the flop showing A♠ K♣ T♥ and 238,000 up for grabs with him and Xiaqing Ji both checking to reveal the 3♦ turn where Ji jams and Yao check folds without much hesitation, leaving him a tiny stack to work with.

Digging for five outs to stay alive, He finds running hearts on 3♥ and A♥ to turn the hand around and stay in the race for the title.
