Jeju Open Mystery Bounty (900,000 KRW)

The 198 entry Flight B of the Jeju Open Mystery Bounty ends with 25 players advancing to Day 2 and Flight C still running with 29 out of 90 left battling for the last 12 qualification places to the final.

Baofeng Zhang's ascent to the top started in level 11 with the knockout of November's KPC Main Event 3rd place finisher Cheng Yen Lo holding A♠ T♥ against Zhang's A♥ K♣ and the board running 8♦ 5♦ 5♣ T♦ K♠ for a 44 BB boost at the time that saw him take the lead. Another huge hand followed with him flopping a set against Tongtong Zhao's rivered top two where he added another 27 BB with just the river bet alone before taking a dip with K♠ K♣ against Juns Leong with 5♣ 5♥ who hit quads. Chipping up again away from our eyes he ended the day with a last minute knockout of Haisheng Qiu on the bubble holding A♠ 5♠ versus Qiu's 4♣ 4♥ that took him to 523,000 worth 52 BB in level 17 but Day 2 will turn back the blinds to at least level 15 when Flight A ended, making it worth a more comfortable 87 BB.

Yuntian Ao came in as a close second with 499,000 after winning more than half the hands uncontested at the end of the day by making use of his table chip lead. Peng Deng bagged 465,000 in third, more than quadrupling up in the last few levels starting with the elimination of Shung Er Sua with A♥ 6♦ against Sua's K♥ J♦ on a board that ran all blanks and winning a lot of small to mid sized pots post flop after that.

Day 2 will start tomorrow at noon local with 61 players fighting for the biggest bounties and a chance to take home the trophy.

A great flop 2♣ K♣ 3♣ for Qiu turns sour when the dealer completes the board 5♠ and K♠ giving Zhang a bigger pair without materializing Qiu's flush draw.

Table chip leader Yuntian Ao jams his massive stack from the cutoff and finds no callers again, winning his sixth pot in just over an orbit.

Opening for 16,000 from under the gun, Yuntian Ao collects a third consecutive pot without any opposition.

No miracle for Qiu who gets close to making a straight, but ultimately surrenders the pot to Leong on 3♠ 8♣ 7♠ 6♦ K♦ giving the Malaysian a huge double up close to the end of Flight B.

Chip leader Peng Deng lays out 12,000 from +1 and button Haisheng Qiu pays up to see the flop 8♠ Q♦ 5♣ that gets checked to the turn 5♥ . Checked to Qiu again, 18,000 wander into the middle and Deng fills up to watch the board complete 5♠ . After giving it some thought, Deng forks out 50,000, but immediately mucks when Qiu announced a call who shows his king high K♠ J♦ just to rub it in.

Bohang Wu raises 12,000 from the hijack and needs a time bank before calling cutoff Peng Deng's 35,000 three-bet to see the flop 5♣ 9♥ J♥ that gets rejected for a free turn 9♣ where Peng's 45,000 delayed c-bet gets the job done.

Button Peng Deng makes use of his big stack and lays out 10,000 with big blind Zhenfang Huang defending to see the flop 2♣ K♠ Q♦ where he check-calls a 7,000 c-bet. The 6♥ turn makes Huang slide out a 28,000 lead that is quickly called by Deng. The river 5♦ gets checked down with Deng tabling the winner Q♣ J♠ against Huang's 9♥ 8♥ .

Everything is looking peachy for Zhang on 5♦ 9♠ J♦ 5♠ before turning pear shaped on the river 6♣ , giving Tang a boat worth almost a triple up.

With the board complete K♣ 7♣ 3♦ 4♠ Q♠ and 106,000 in the middle we see Baofeng Zhang fork out 80,000 with 7♠ 7♦ set and hijack Tongtong Zhao tanks for a time bank before calling with top two K♦ Q♣ .

Yuntian Ao gets the ball rolling for 7,000 from +1, hijack Haisheng Qiu flats and button Yu Han Su squeezes to 24,000. Only Qiu sticks around for the 5♠ Q♠ T♣ flop, but lets it go after Su fired another 13,000.

Picking up the action with 107,000 up for grabs and the board showing J♦ 8♠ 6♦ 4♥ small blind Hsuan Yu Lai and big blind Ping Li both check to see the board complete 5♣ . Using a time bank, Lai goes all-in for 109,500, leaving him polarized and Li decides his Q♣ Q♦ are good enough as a bluff catcher and calls after the aid of a time bank, but has to surrender to Lai's 6♥ 6♠ set.

The turn A♦ works as well and keeps Du ahead on the Q♥ river for a much needed double up.

The dealer keeps it interesting to the end by flipping over 9♦ K♦ 8♠ Q♠ A♥ that ultimately hands the pot the the favorite.

Under the gun Yanfeng Wang wants 5,500 and two customers oblige to see the Q♦ 9♣ J♣ flop. Checked to button Jo Seng Mok he initiates a triple barrel sequence of 7,000, 14,000 and an effective all-in of 58,000 on the 4♠ turn and 2♦ river with only Wang staying in the race until he folds on the river with the aid of a time bank.

After losing the majority of his chips during a preflop all-in with K♣ K♦ against Ng Yu Hin's J♠ J♦ and the board running Q♦ J♣ 3♠ 5♠ 5♣ , Ziyang Xiao is forced all-in in the small blind with 3♣ 8♦ against last months RDPT Prestige High Roller champ for $150K Yunchao Yu with K♦ 6♣ and the 6♠ 9♠ J♦ 7♥ 6♦ board sealed his fate.

The remaining 9 are getting ready for the final table with a minimum of KRW 5,500,000 in the bank and almost 40 million for the champion.

Bracelet winner Joseph Cheong and HSPC 2023 Main Event winner Lei Li are leading the field with 1,2M in chips followed by Yunchao Yu in a distant 3rd with 895,000.

Chip leader Ying Song - fresh from her biggest cash of $158K for 2nd at the Poker Dream 16 Main Event here in Jeju this February - closely followed by February's PSCT Super High Roller champ Jo Seng Mok.

Late registration is closed with 74 out of 198 players left and the flight will end when the last 25 players still have chips in front of them. The prize pool already ballooned to KRW 320 Million with Flight C only in level 2 and late reg open until the end of level 8.

With level 4 of Flight B in full swing and 95 out of 106 players left in the running, the prize pool already eclipsed 200 Million.
