60 minutesChasing History: Flight A Opens the APT Taipei 2025 Main Event

The poker stadium is set pristinely for the TWD 55,000 APT Main Event inside the Red Point Center’s Red Space, a mighty venue that has already witnessed many record-shattering moments and is certain to showcase its strength again for this prestigious event.
Last year, it was Rene von Reden of Germany who took home the lion in the record-breaking 2024 APT Main Event — the biggest and the richest international poker event ever held in Taiwan. Von Reden captured the title in spectacular fashion, not only did he outmaneuver the astonishing field of 1,991 entries but also started the final table with the second-shortest stack. At last, he pocketed the mouth-watering TWD 14,413,200 (~$449,070) for his first-place finish.
This year, the field of poker enthusiasts is looking to pull off another bar-setting record and etch their names onto the legendary list, beginning with Flight A — the first of four opening flights. Action kicks off at 11:00 a.m. local time, where players must navigate through ten 60-minute levels to secure a spot in Day 2 and keep their poker dreams alive.
Blinds begin at 100 / 100 with a 100 big blind ante, and hopefuls will start with a 40,000-chip stack. A 15-minute break is scheduled every two levels, with a 75-minute dinner break following Level 6 (around 5:30 p.m.).
Dreams are still alive as registration stays open until the start of Day 2. With the prime event’s strong draw combined with the venue’s capability, the TWD 70,000,000 guarantee is expected to be blown away.
Live updates begin at 11am on Sunday April 27, 2025.
