Asia Poker Championship lights up Da Nang, Vietnam with ₫10 Billion in guarantees – Dragon Poker Club, February 27 to March 5

 

In just two weeks time, one of Korea’s premier poker organizers, Korea Mind Game Members (KMGM), brings its highly popular Asia Poker Championship to Da Nang, Vietnam.

Slated to run from February 27 to March 5 at the Dragon Poker Club, tournament players are in for a thrill as a whopping ₫10 Billion (~$424,180) is guaranteed. For players seeking ample competition, make sure to mark this event in your calendars. Over 200 Korean players and a large contingent of Vietnamese are expected.  

Introducing the event in 2020, KMGM has since held three massively successful APC events in the Philippines. The largest Main Event prize pool was nearly US$ 400K. WSOP bracelet winner Mike Takayama won it and walked away with six figures. 

This year, KMGM branches out to Vietnam for the first time where a slew of international live festivals have been running non stop since last year. For the upcoming games, players will once again compete for big money with the Main Event featuring an ₫8 Billion (~339,300) guarantee. Also on the roster is the High Roller which serves up a ₫2 Billion (~$84,800) prize pool.

APC Da Nang schedule breakdown

Trophy hunters will have plenty to aim for at APC Da Nang with ten events to conquer. Buy ins range from an affordable ₫3,300,000 (~$140) to a high roller price tag of ₫66,000,000 (~$2,800). 

Main Event – ₫8 Billion (~$339,300) guaranteed

The event everyone will set their sights on is the MAIN EVENT which boasts an ₫8 Billion (~339,300) guarantee. It runs for six days, from March 1 to 6. This is a deep stack tournament with a starting stack equivalent to 200 times the opening big blind. Last second registrants will find their stack still a decent 20 times the big blind.

To participate, four entry days are scheduled with buy in set at ₫22,000,000 (~$930). Carve your name in history by taking down the first ever APC Da Nang Main Event title.

Notes: 

• Day 1A, Day 1B, and Day 1C will see blinds increase every 40 minutes
• Day 1D is a turbo format with blinds increasing every 25 minutes
• Opening blinds 100-200, 200 BB Ante, starting stack 40,000
• Registration closes at the start of Level 10
• Final table is 8 players, blinds increase every 60 minutes
• Tournament pays out 12.5% of the field

For greater value, players can enter the Main Event at a fraction of the price via the satellites. There are six scheduled with buy in of ₫2,200,000 (~$93) and ₫4,400,000 (~$186). 

High Roller – ₫2 Billion (~$84,800) guaranteed

Pros and players with deep pockets will be seeking out the featured High Roller event which struts in with a ₫2,000,000,000 (~$84,800) prize pool. This is the most expensive event in the roster costing ₫66,000,000 (~$2,800) to enter. With high roller events in demand in Vietnam, players can expect a sizable field composed of top players in the region.

In addition to events with guarantees are eight tournaments chosen for their popularity. In the list are the Deepstack Freezeout, Megastack, Turbos, and Single Day High Roller.
