WSOP 2026 – Moment of the Day – 24 June – Dramatic Exit

One thing is certain: it doesn’t matter how long you have been in Las Vegas, and you think you have seen it all. No, you haven’t. You can always be amused, surprised, shocked, amazed, or disturbed, depending on your personality.
We have seen some dramatic exits from tournaments due to verbal abuse, foul language, throwing items, or all of the above, which reflect a lack of self-discipline and dignity. I don’t want to point fingers at Phil Hellmuth or Martin Kabrhel tho, but you still know what I mean.
The Most Dramatic Poker Exit Ever
The $1,000 Tag Team No-Limit Hold’em freezeout event of the WSOP 2026 ended for the “Squid Game” team with a classic 8♠8♦ vs A♦K♦ all-in battle, and the pocket pair came out winning as the board unfolded 7♦9♥9♠4♣5♣.

This dramatic poker exit surely didn’t go unnoticed at the tournament area. Whether you think it was an honest Moment of the Day, or just an absolute cinema for the show and drawing attention, we can’t deny it was an action that broke the monotony of the all-day long grind for thousands of players.
My journey in the world of poker (and later casino, sportsbetting) started more than 20 years ago, when I first attended a low-stakes live tournament. I’ve never looked back since, and have been active in several fields, including being a poker player, a live tournament director, writing online and offline articles about poker, and managing the localization of one of the world's largest online poker rooms. Poker is my home ground, I could never imagine doing a job that is not a part of it. I hope someday I’ll have more time to play live; that's something I've missed in the past few years. A game where luck meets skill - what would be more interesting?
