WPT Cambodia Championship Day 1B: Bellais Bags Big

Day 1B of the $3,500 WPT Cambodia Championship at NagaWorld drew 215 entries, sending 75 players through to Day 2 and bringing the total field across both starting flights to 425. France’s Louis Bellais stole the spotlight, bagging 472,000 chips after a remarkable run that saw him hit pocket aces multiple times, including a memorable knockout of last year’s finalist Ankit Ahuja.
Close behind, Australian standout Amin Riyazati continued his strong series with 457,500 chips, while Singapore’s Abraham Ceesvin secured 381,000 to round out the top Day 1B stacks. The returning field also included WPT Global Ambassadors Romulo Dorea and Pete Chen , and recent WPT Prime Cambodia winner Andrei Kalgin , ensuring a deep and competitive Day 2.
With 145 players set to return, Christian Mitchell leads the overall chip counts with 477,500, and the blinds will start at 1,500-3,000 with a big blind ante of 3,000 for a short five-level day before bagging tonight, all competing for a $1.5 million prize pool and a WPT World Championship seat.
Big Bounty: Artur Akhmetzianov Claims Title

Artur Akhmetzianov dominated the WPT Cambodia Big Bounty , closing out nearly 12 hours of grueling play to claim the title. From the start of the final table, he carried momentum, quickly eliminating Ko Zaw Ko in 10th and continuing with a string of knockouts including Steven Dimattei, Ali Bagci, Hao Yang Chen, Ashish Ahuja, and Peteris Enders, often aided by timely river cards that swung the action in his favor.
Entering heads-up against Anzhela Vasylenko , Akhmetzianov remained composed as momentum shifted, responding to Vasylenko’s early lead with precise aggression and calculated pressure. In the final hand, his patience and timing paid off, securing the win and the trophy. Akhmetzianov collected $5,247 in first-place prize money along with 10 bounties worth $2,500, for a total haul of $7,747, cementing his dominance in the event.
Superstack Turbo: Ranno Sootla’s Third Trophy

The Superstack Turbo added another highlight to the day, drawing 12 entries and creating a $11,640 prize pool. Estonia’s Ranno Sootla continued his incredible festival run by claiming the title and $5,820 for first place.
The victory marked Sootla’s third trophy of the series, having already won the $10K Single Day Challenge and the Mini High Roller Turbo. With this latest win, Sootla has now amassed $61,402 in cashes so far at WPT Cambodia, making him one of the standout performers of the entire festival.
What’s Next: WPT Cambodia Championship Day 2

With both starting flights complete, Day 2 of the WPT Cambodia Championship gets underway as 145 players return to the Grand Ballroom at NagaWorld. All remaining contenders will be chasing one of the 54 paid spots and a shot at the $294,200 top prize, plus a $10,400 seat to the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas.

Overall chip leader Christian Mitchell leads the field with 477,500 (159 big blinds), narrowly ahead of Louis Bellais with 472,000 (157 big blinds) and Amin Riyazati on 457,500. Championship experience is well represented with former winners Marvin Rettenmaier, Dmitry Gromov, and Pete Chen all still in the hunt.
Action resumes at 11:30 a.m. local time, with blinds at 1,500 / 3,000 and a 3,000 big blind ante. The average stack sits at a comfortable 45 big blinds, and five 90-minute levels are scheduled before bagging up later in the evening.
