The U Series of Poker (USOP) Vietnam 2026 Championship Event has officially concluded at the luxurious InterContinental Ha Long Bay Resort , with Vietnam’s Quoc Bao Huy Nguyen emerging victorious after an incredible comeback performance to capture the title and a career-best VND 3.6 billion (~USD 136,510) top prize.
Quoc Bao Huy Nguyen Wins Championship Event

The USOP Vietnam 2026 Championship Event featured a VND 25 million (~USD 950) buy-in and a VND 20 billion (~USD 760,000) guarantee. Across five starting flights, the tournament drew 1,058 total entries, building a total prize pool of VND 22,565,440,000 (~USD 855,680).
In the end, Quoc Bao Huy Nguyen won the tournament, earning a career-best VND 3.6 billion (~USD 136,510). Nguyen won the title after overcoming a 5-to-1 chip deficit during a heads-up match against runner-up Thanh Luong Dang.
Day 2 Action
Only 134 players from the original 1,058 entries advanced to Day 2. Tobias Bui started the day as the chip leader but finished in 37th place after an unsuccessful five-bet shove against Dang.
Van Son Nguyen entered Day 2 second in chips and grew his stack early on by cracking the pocket aces of Ganlin Lei. Nguyen eventually finished in 17th place, securing his biggest live career cash.
The final table bubble was Xinyin Xu, the last remaining female player in the field. She lost three consecutive hands to exit in 10th place.

Final Table Action

Yizhan Jiang entered the final table with a commanding chip lead after winning a big pot where his set beat Hoang Anh Tran’s lower set.
USOP Ambassador Kyle Bao Diep was the first player eliminated at the final table. Diep got his chips in with pocket eights but could not beat the pocket queens of Nguyen, exiting in ninth place. Van Tan Dong followed in eighth place, also knocked out by Nguyen when Dong’s ace-high failed to improve against Nguyen’s pocket jacks. At this point, Jiang still held a dominant lead with one-third of the total chips in play.

Tran Anh Tuan Le was eliminated in seventh place in a preflop cooler, running pocket queens into Dang’s pocket kings. Le failed to find his two outs, giving Dang the overall chip lead while Nguyen still at the bottom of the chip counts.
Dang continued his elimination run by knocking out Japanese player Masahito Ozaki in sixth place. Ozaki turned trips, but Dang rivered a flush to win the hand.
Zheng’s Short-Stack Comeback

Nguyen was nearly eliminated when he moved all-in with ace-ten against the ace-jack of Xiaobin Zheng . Nguyen hit a three-outer on the flop to secure a double-up, leaving Zheng crippled.
Zheng managed to save his last 50,000 chips (just 1/8 of a big blind) by making a disciplined fold on the river in a subsequent hand. He then started a comeback, which included winning a four-way pot with seven-deuce, spinning his stack up to 3,800,000. However, his run ended in fifth place when he lost his remaining chips to Dang.
Four-Handed Play to Heads-Up

With four players left, Dang held roughly 70 percent of the chips in play and began pushing his advantage by moving all-in frequently. Both Jiang and Nguyen managed to double up through him during this phase. Tuan Anh Nguyen was not as fortunate; his top pair fell to Dang’s two pair, eliminating him in fourth place.
Shortly after, Dang eliminated Jiang in third place when his king-high held against Jiang’s queen-high. On the sidelines, Nguyen celebrated the elimination, having secured a significant pay jump into the final two spots.
Heads-Up Battle

Heads-up play began with Dang holding a massive 5-to-1 chip lead over Nguyen. Early in the match, Nguyen found a double-up to close the gap. A major cooler then occurred when both players flopped a full house. Nguyen held the higher full house, winning a huge pot and taking the chip lead for the first time.
Nguyen used the lead to grind down Dang’s remaining chips. On the final hand, Dang moved all-in with queen-nine, and Nguyen called with ace-seven. Nguyen’s ace-high held to eliminate Dang in second place.

With this victory, Quoc Bao Huy Nguyen completed his comeback to claim the VND 3.6 Billion (~USD 136,510) top prize, marking his best live tournament cash and crowning him the USOP Vietnam 2026 Championship Event winner.
