Finale Highlights Of Poker Dream 19 Malaysia: Carter Chan Wins Main Event; Eugene Zhou Clinches POY

Poker Dream wrapped up its 2025 season at its home base in Malaysia, hosting twelve days of nonstop action from October 23 to November 3 at Resorts World Genting. The festival paid out MYR 20.9 Million (~$4.98M) and crowned 71 new champions, including the Dream Player of the Year title. Here’s a look back at key highlights from the season finale.
As always, host country Malaysia asserted its home-ground dominance, fielding the largest contingent and clinching a commanding 31 event titles. While other nations paled in comparison, Singapore did produce two major victories in Chik Fatt Carter Chan at the Main Event and Yujian Eugene Zhou for the Dream Player of the Year title. Also running well were players from China with 42 cashes across the board and India with 32 cashes.

Carter Chan Wins PD 19 Main Event

Singapore’s winning streak continues! On November 3, 2025, Chik Fatt Carter Chan emerged victorious at the Main Event to bring Singapore its third consecutive PD Main Event title. Following in the footsteps of Dingxiang Ong (PD 17) and Kok Kong Liew (PD 18), Chan outlasted of a field of 1,547 runners, defeating Vince Cheong Kim Fye at heads up for a payout deal of MYR 589,000 (~$140K).
In a post-win interview with Poker Dream, Chan revealed,
After I bubbled the Super High Roller, I was very frustrated with myself, I made those silly mistakes and I cannot control my mood. After that, my friends told me that I should transform my mindset, be calm, and then I aimed for the Main Event trophy. I began talking to myself saying ‘I must make it, I must make it.’ …. I feel so proud that I made it in less than two years. I have two small Poker Dream trophy and now I have this one. In my dream, I always wanted this one.
I use poker as a skill to transform my mindset. It helps me transform my character. It has helped be become more patient, more calm, to control my emotions. It helps me everyday.

Yujian Eugene Zhou Crowned Dream Player Of The Year

After five thrilling Poker Dream editions staged this year (PD 15-19), it came down to a razor-thin finish for the Dream Player of the Year title with Singapore’s Yujian Eugene Zhou edging over Malaysia’s Cheng Ming Kong to hoist the coveted black dragon trophy and win US$ 15,000 in Poker Dream tournament credits.
Throughout the year, Zhou cashed in 63 events for 493,000 points, 18 of those cashes were in this series alone! Kong was close behind at 478,000 points.
Other Events
Malaysian Open Attracts 2016; Redemption For Yew Faii Chen
The largest turnout of the festival was the Malaysian Open which opened the series on October 23 and ran until October 26. A massive field of 2016 signed on across ten flights for a prize pool of MYR 2,066,288 (~$489,265). A long list of 259 players claimed a piece of the pot with South Korea’s Jongbea Jang locking up the largest cut of MYR 301,095 (~$71,295) on an ICM deal while Malaysia’s Yew Faii Chen seized the title for his career first win and high score of MYR 220,854 (~$52,295). Impressively, this was a redemption run for Chen who finished 3rd in this exact same event at PD 17.

First Title For Chi Ngong Tang At Super High Roller
The Super High Roller event showcased the festival’s international appeal, drawing some of Asia’s elite to the felt. Among them were Triton champions: Thailand’s top-ranked Punnat Punsri who finished in 8th place and Singapore’s second-ranked Jun Hao Wu who finished just one spot shy in 2nd place. Stealing the spotlight and all the glory was the lone Hong Kong player at the table, Chi Ngong Tang, for a career high payout of MYR 771,000 (~$182,560).

Maiden Title For Si Han Tan At The Monster Stack Event

Third Time’s The Charm For Lay Sheen Lau At Mini Main Event
After two final tables, Malaysian recreational player Lay Sheen Lau finally captured his first-ever live career title at the Mini Main Event. In a field of 323 runners., Lau secured the win after an even-split deal with runner-up Kwang Hui Seow .

Mystery Bounty events are the most popular tournaments at Poker Dream festivals that 20 were scheduled throughout the series. Listed below are the key event results. High Roller Highlights
Poker Dream’s High Roller events continue to draw some of the most decorated pros in the region. Thanks to the brand’s close relationship with the prestigious Triton Super High Roller Series, Poker Dream became the first tour to put the world’s elite and everyday grinders in the same arena – a rare crossover that captures the spirit of its motto: “Dream the Impossible.”
Capturing the finales High Roller title was China’s Xiangyu Yu, who finally clinched his first Poker Dream title which came just two months after his final table finish at the Triton One Jeju.

At the Single Day High Roller, India’s Aditya Agarwal was hoping to turn his missed gold in Manila to capturing it at PD 19, however, his run was halted in 2nd place. Malaysian player Kian Howe Yeo emerged victorious for his first tracked win and career high score of MYR 193,000 (~$45,700).



That officially closes another exciting season of Poker Dream. Dates and destinations for the next series have yet to be announced, but with the brand having launched in Malaysia in 2023 and consistently anchoring its biggest festivals there, a return to its home base seems highly likely.
