Winamax hosts qualifiers for WSOP Las Vegas
With the prestigious WSOP festival back on schedule, poker players all over the world are making plans of heading to Sin City this summer for a chance to win one of the 88 gold bracelets up for grabs. PokerStars Italy’s Sunday Million surpasses global prize pool
Online poker giant PokerStars has well dominated the virtual scene for years with its legendary seven-figured tournaments, a vision of success for many of its competitors. This year’s games are of the same caliber with its Sunday Million franchise surpassing the initial million dollar guarantee. While the global site recorded an impressive $1.22 million prize pool, PokerStars Italy’s version, much to everyone’s surprise, exceeded €1.2 million (~US$ 1.35 million), reported firstly at PRO.
The freezeout PKO tournament catering to the Italian market posed a more expensive buy-in of €250 in comparison to the dot-com site’s. The one-off edition however, welcomed 5,397 players and generated a celebratory prize pool which amounted to a whopping €1,214,325.
