Day 6 of Gods of Poker (GOP) Phnom Penh: The Coiled Path at the world-class NagaWorld saw China’s Zeyu Sun dominate the Main Event flights to bag the overall chip lead heading into Day 2. The action-packed session also featured Martijn Gerrits extending his Player of the Series lead with ten total cashes, while Wouter Beltz and Rindra Norodom continued their dominant heaters by each securing their second titles of the festival.

Sun led the way as the GOP Main Event wrapped up two more starting flights, pushing the cumulative field to 117 entries with 17 players now guaranteed a share of the $500,000 prize pool. Flight B saw Sun pile up a towering 1,809,000 (90 big blinds), setting a high benchmark for the remaining flights.

Flight D Kicks Off With Deep-Stack Structure

GOP Phnom PenhAll eyes now turn to Flight D, which promises one of the most player-friendly structures in the region. Beginning on Wednesday, April 1, late registration remains open for nine hours. The first four hours (Level 1) are played at an average of 120 big blinds, followed by another five hours (Level 2) at roughly 60 big blinds.

This deep structure accommodates both tournament specialists and cash game enthusiasts. Registration closes just before the start of Level 3 on Day 2 (Thursday, April 2), with late entrants still starting with around 30 big blinds.

The NL Hold’em event turned into one of the day’s grittiest battles, drawing a competitive field of 58 entries. Laurinaitis Vytautas ended up as the last man standing, navigating a tricky mix of seasoned pros and aggressive newcomers to lock up his first-ever GOP title.

The tournament came down to a tense heads-up match against Rika Hachiya. With the trophy on the line, the two eventually struck a deal to flatten the remaining prize pool. Vytautas officially took the win and the Shield trophy along with a $4,742 payday, while Hachiya walked away with a respectable $4,376 for second place.

GOP Series Halfway Update: POS Race Heats Up

Halfway through the GOP series, Martijn Gerrits has solidified his lead in the Player of the Series standings with ten cashes to date. Jun Yan Kok has moved into second with six cashes, while Alfie Adam sits in third, keeping the competition close.

Kyle Bao Diep currently has more points than Adam, but he will need at least one more cash to meet the three-event minimum to qualify for the POS race, having recorded two so far.
