APT Championship 2026 Unveils 23 Championship Events in Taipei

Last November, the Asian Poker Tour delivered something the region hadn’t seen before.
The APT Championship (APTC) 2026, sponsored by Natural8 , will return to the same stage from November 13–29, 2026, in Taipei, Taiwan.
A record 28,265 entries and TWD 1,000,000,000 (~USD 34,000,000) in prize money made the 2025 edition the largest poker festival ever held in Asia.
At the center of it was a ~$10,000 Main Event freezeout that drew 671 entries and produced a prize pool that, not long ago, would have represented an entire stop on the tour.
Held in partnership with the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Club (CTP), the 17-day festival will once again take place across the Asia Poker Arena and Red Space 多元商務空間 .
Main Event Returns With USD 5M Guarantee
The centerpiece remains the APT Championship Main Event, running from November 23–27. The freezeout format returns with a USD 10,000 buy-in and a USD 5,000,000 guarantee.
Last year’s edition drew 671 entries and generated a TWD 194,000,000 (~USD 6,200,000) prize pool, making it the richest USD 10K tournament held outside Las Vegas in the last decade , the largest ever held in Asia, and the richest event in APT history.
India’s Nishant Sharma won the title, earning TWD 37,000,000 (~USD 1,200,000) and the Gold Lion APT Championship Main Event Trophy .

23 Championship Events on Expanded Schedule
APT Championship 2026 will feature more than TWD 260,000,000 (~USD 8,000,000) in total guarantees, with 23 Championship Events confirmed across the schedule, up from 20 in 2025.
The high-stakes side is led by the Super High Roller Championship, Superstar Championship, and High Roller Championship, with buy-ins of USD 25,000, USD 50,000, and USD 15,000, respectively.
New additions include the PLO High Roller Championship and the Single Day High Roller Championship, while the Ultra Stack Championship returns with a Mega Lion to offer after being upgraded from last year’s schedule.
Elsewhere, the Natural8 Cup Championship comes with a USD 1,000,000 guarantee, alongside the National Cup Championship and Mystery Bounty Championship, which continue to anchor the mid-stakes side of the series.

Players will have multiple routes into the APT Championship Main Event through live events held across the APT tour in the lead-up to the festival, as well as online qualifiers via Natural8, with further details expected closer to the series.
After what unfolded in Taipei last year, this is no longer a question of whether the Asian Poker Tour can reach that level. The focus now shifts to whether it can do it again, and how far it can push beyond it.
