The last two days of the GLPC Powered By USOP Series were packed with energy and intense competition. The VND 10 Billion Guaranteed Championship Event drew 843 entries across five Day 1 flights. Of the 108 players who made the money, only 107 returned for Day 2 after Junqiang Lyu bagged twice. The prize pool soared to VND 10,621,800,000 (~US$403,225), and in the end, Duy Tuan Nguyen emerged as the champion, taking home VND 1,711,600,000 (~US$64,975), his biggest live cash, and a prestigious trophy, marking a career-defining moment.

Duy Tuan Nguyen entered the final table as the chip leader, boosting his stack after eliminating Ngo Xuan Thuy (13th Place) and Anh Dung Trin (10th Place) on the bubble. The final table began with eight players, as Trin and Chen Hao (9th Place) had been sent home just before the official start. Final table just started, Duy Tuan’s dominance was clear. He cracked Tien Dung Pham’s (8th Place) kings after hitting an open-ended straight on the river, sending a shock through the table and extending his massive chip lead.

Despite the daunting stack in front of them, the other players kept fighting. Peng Yang, full of energy and determination, tried his best in a three-way all-in against Alex Tiew and Ledong Zhou, but luck was not on his side. Alex Tiew hit a set on the flop, tripling up and sending Peng Yang (7th Place) home.

The swings continued as Ledong Zhou (6th Place) pushed with ace-king against Trung Ha Nguyen’s ace-jack, only to see the board favor Trung Ha, who hit a straight on the turn.

While the field narrowed, Kun Han Lee (5th Place) was next to exit, failing to hit an ace against Trung Ha’s queens. By then, Duy Tuan Nguyen controlled seventy percent of the chips, while Trung Ha had just a third of his stack. The tension was palpable. In a single hand, Alex Tiew (3rd Place) and Akshay Nasa (4th Place) were both eliminated by Duy Tuan, who flopped a set, sending them home in double elimination. The crowd felt every beat of the action, watching the clash of the remaining Vietnamese stars.

Heads-up play began with Duy Tuan Nguyen holding a commanding lead against Trung Ha Nguyen. After just 14 hands, the battle reached its climax. Both players went all in preflop one final time. Trung Ha held ace-king while Duy Tuan had queen-seven suited. They both paired on the flop, but the turn brought trips for Duy Tuan, and Trung Ha could not find his two outer on the river. The crowd erupted as Duy Tuan Nguyen lifted the Championship Event Trophy, a fitting end to a thrilling and hard-fought journey.

Both players paired up on the K♠ Q♠ 8♦ flop, but Tuan pulled ahead when the Q♥ landed on the turn to make trips. The 9♥ river sealed the deal, sending Ha Nguyen out in second place and crowning Duy Tuan Nguyen as the champion.

Following the double elimination in the previous hand, play is now heads-up! Just two players remain from the original field of 843 entrants, both with their eyes firmly on the first-place prize of VND 1,711,600,000 (~USD 65,000.)

Button Alex Tiew moved all in for 600,000, small blind Duy Tuan Nguyen called, and Akshay Nasa was already all in from the big blind.

A three-way all in ensued, and Duy Tuan Nguyen spiked a set on the flop J♠ 4♣ 3♦ , leaving both opponents almost drawing dead. Nasa found some hope on the turn 5♦ with a flush draw, but the river K♠ bricked. Both Nasa and Tiew were eliminated, and we are now down to heads-up play.

UTG Kun Han Lee open-shoved for 2,700,000, and cutoff Trung Ha Nguyen called for 2,800,000. Two players were all in.

Lee picked up bottom pair on the flop K♠ T♠ 6♠ , but it wasn’t enough to crack Nguyen’s queens after the runout K♥ 2♦ . Lee was eliminated in 5th place.

Button Akshay Nasa moved all in, leaving himself just one big blind behind. Ha Trung Nguyen shoved over the top to put him all in, and the cards were revealed:

Nasa caught a lucky break when the 3♦ 5♠ 2♣ flop gave him a pair of threes, and the Q♠ 5♥ runout kept him ahead to score a much-needed double through Nguyen.

Trung Ha Nguyen opened to 1,500,000 from the hijack, and big blind Ledong Zhou woke up with a monster hand, snap-calling all in for 1,500,000.

Zhou dominated Nguyen preflop, but the flop Q♣ 9♣ 8♥ gave Nguyen a gutshot draw. The turn T♥ brought bad news for Zhou as Nguyen hit his straight, leaving Zhou with only three outs on the river. The river 4♦ bricked, and Zhou was eliminated from the Championship Event in 6th place.

Peng Yang moved all in from under the gun for his remaining 870,000 chips. Cutoff Ledong Zhou called, only for Alex Huat to re-shove behind. Zhou called, and all three hands were revealed:

Huat, holding the covering stack, strengthened his position on the 7♠ 8♠ 9♦ flop but still had plenty of outs to fade. The 4♦ 2♦ turn and river came safely, giving Huat the pot and a double knockout, eliminating Yang in 7th and severely denting Zhou's stack.

Alex Tiew open-shoved for 955,000, and big blind Kun Han Lee made the call.

Tiew found top pair and a flush draw on the flop K♦ 4♣ 2♣ , leaving Lee with just a few outs. The runout J♥ J♦ stayed clean for Tiew, securing him a much-needed double up to stay in contention.

Akshay Nasa moved all in from middle position and was called by cutoff Kun Han Lee, who put himself at risk:

The 4♦ J♣ Q♣ 6♥ T♣ runout kept Lee safely ahead, with the river ten sealing the double and rubbing salt in the wound for Nasa.

Folded to the small blind, Akshay Nasa 5♣ 4♣ limped in and Ledong Zhou Q♣ T♦ checked. Both players checked through the flop Q♠ 5♥ 4♥ to the turn.

Nasa, who had flopped two pair, fired 400,000, and Zhou called with top pair. But when the river 8♦ came, it turned the tables, Zhou improved to a higher two pair.

Sensing danger, Nasa slowed down and checked for value. Zhou bet 300,000, Nasa made the call, and Zhou revealed the winner, his higher two pair takes the pot.

Nguyen Duy Tuan raised to 300,000 from under the gun, then called Tien Dung Pham's 750,000 three-bet from middle position.

Tuan checked the 8♥ 8♣ 7♣ flop, then called as Pham moved all-in, and cards went on their backs:

The T♦ landed on the turn, but it wasn't enough for Tuan to overcome Pham's kings yet. The 6♣ sealed the dealer, giving him a straight and sending Pham out in 8th.

UTG Peng Yang opened to 240,000 and faced a three-bet from Akshay Nasa in middle position. Cutoff Ledong Zhou burned through a timebank before ultimately deciding to fold.

Action folded back to Peng, who took a quick look at Nasa’s stack before releasing his hand to the dealer.

Following two near-simultaneous eliminations, the final eight players have now taken their seats at the Championship Event final table, ready to battle it out for the title.

The blind levels are being rolled back to level 29: 60,000/120,000/120,000.

The final 10 players are on edge, and the table exploded with action as bustouts came fast.

First to go in 10th place was Anh Dung Trin, shoving his last 925,000 with K♠ J♥ . Chip leader Duy Tuan Nguyen calmly called with A♠ 7♥ . The board 9♠ 4♣ 3♦ T♣ T♠ ran dry for Trin, and just like that, he was eliminated.

The next hand saw Chen Hao shove 825,000 with A♦ 6♠ , only for Alex Tiew to jam 925,000 with 8♦ 8♥ . The ace never came on the board Q♠ 9♣ 3♦ T♦ 3♣ , and Hao’s run ended in 9th place, heartbreakingly close to the final table. The tension is now at its peak as the remaining eight players fight for the title.

UTG Akshay Nasa opened to 330,000. Big blind Quoc Phu Ngo defended and then snap-shoved for 495,000 after seeing the flop 8♠ 6♣ 4♥ , getting called by Nasa.

Both players had gutshot draws, but Ngo missed the runout 4♠ 7♠ and was eliminated in 11th place.

Hand 1

UTG Tien Dung Pham opened to 300,000 and was called by big blind Kun Han Lee.

On the 5♦ 7♣ Q♠ flop, Lee check-called Pham’s 175,000 continuation bet.

The 7♥ landed on the turn, and after another check from Lee, Pham fired 350,000 to take it down as Lee folded.

Hand 2

Cutoff Anh Dung Trinh raised to 325,000 and was called by button Duy Tuan Nguyen.

On the 5♣ T♣ 3♣ flop, Trinh led out for 250,000 but quickly gave up his hand after Nguyen raised to 800,000. Nguyen turned over A♠ A♣ as he collected the pot.

Hand 3

Pham completed from the small blind, only for big blind Ha Nguyen Trung to shove for 1,600,000. Pham didn’t think long before letting it go.

The last 11 players are taking their time with every decision, knowing that each bustout now means a pay jump. The ICM pressure is on.

After doubling up and then losing a pot to Jie Zheng, Ngo Xuan Thuy was back down to 1,075,000 and shoved all in. To his left, Duy Tuan Nguyen made the call.

Thuy was dominated preflop but found a flush draw on the flop A♥ 8♥ 8♠ . Unfortunately for him, the turn 5♣ and river 7♠ missed, and Nguyen took the pot, ending Thuy’s run.

UTG Tien Dung Pham raised to 240,000 and was called by Jie Zheng in early position, leaving himself just a few chips behind. Button Xuan Thuy Ngo and big blind Kun Han Lee also came along, sending four players to the flop.

On the A♠ K♠ 7♥ flop, Lee checked and Pham continued for 275,000. After burning through most of his timebanks, Zheng pushed the rest of his chips in. Ngo called to create a side pot, while Lee quickly got out of the way.

The 5♦ landed on the turn, and Pham fired again, this time for 1,000,000. Ngo counted out the call, and both players checked the 9♦ river.

Zheng’s king-five made two pair to secure a crucial quadruple-up, while Pham claimed the side pot with ace-ten for top pair, top kicker, besting Ngo’s ace-eight.

Cutoff Jie Zheng opened, then Ngo Xuan Thuy 3-bet shoved from the small blind for 1,175,000. Zheng tanked before eventually making the call.

Thuy was ahead preflop and secured the lead after the flop Q♦ 6♣ 2♥ . The runout 5♠ 8♥ didn’t help Zheng, who was left with just 350,000 (3 BB).

Duy Ta Khanh moved all-in for his remaining ~640,000 chips and was re-shoved by Kun Han Lee. Ha Nguyen Trung also moved all-in, covering both opponents, and the three went to showdown:

Khanh needed a straight or trips to survive, but the 6♠ K♦ A♠ T♦ 6♦ board instead gave Lee two pair, sending Khanh to the rail and denting Trung's stack in the process. Lee erupted in a fit of joy, giving a cathartic scream as he celebrated with Peng Yang.

The last woman standing, Hong Anh Nguyen, is out of the Championship event after losing a flip against Nasa Akshay.

Nguyen open-jammed for 700,000, and it folded to the big blind, where Akshay snap-called.

Akshay hit a pair on the flop A♣ 8♠ 4♠ and took the lead on the turn 6♠ . Nguyen, down to two outs, couldn’t find help on the river 2♥ and was eliminated from the tournament.

Small blind Pham Truong Thu moved all-in and was called by big blind Ledong Zhou, to Thu’s surprise, with both players holding similar stacks:

Thu celebrated the A♠ J♦ 3♠ flop after pairing his ace to take the lead. The 9♠ on the turn brought a flush sweat for Zhou, and while the river didn’t complete it, the T♦ instead gave him a set, eliminating Thu and finalising the last two tables.

The cards were already face up when I arrived, both players holding monster hands. Viet An Nguyen was all in for 1,235,000 and was called by Trung Ha Nguyen.

No sweat for Trung Ha as the dealer revealed a clean board J♠ 4♣ 6♠ 5♦ 5♣ . He scooped another massive pot and is now the chip leader.

Quoc Phu Ngo opened to 120,000 from middle position and found a caller in big blind Anh Dung Trinh. On the 5♦ 8♦ 3♥ flop, Trinh check-folded to Ngo’s 175,000 continuation-bet.

In the following hand, Peng Yang raised to 120,000, and his neighbour Jinhwan Kim three-bet to 300,000, leaving just 10,000 behind. Yang tried to strike up a deal, asking if Kim would show if he folded, but got no reply. After a brief pause, Yang folded, flashing his king-ten, slightly disappointed when Kim kept his cards to himself.

Truong Thu Pham opened, Junqiang Lyu 3-bet shoved, and Hong Anh Nguyen from the small blind also jammed for 310,000. Pham folded, and the two players went all in.

Nguyen flopped K♠ J♥ 3♥ a set, leaving Lyu drawing dead, but the turn T♠ gave Lyu a chance after hitting his set. Still needing one out on the river 7♠ , Lyu missed. Nguyen’s jacks held, and later on, Lyu was eliminated in 24th place.

After losing most of his stack in a previous hand, Manh Tuong Ha moved all-in for his last ~155,000 chips. Khanh Duy Ta three-bet to 230,000, only for Dung Trinh Anh to four-bet shove with the second shortest stack. Ta made the call, and the cards were revealed:

Nikolaos Kiourntzidis open-jammed from the hijack for 410,000, and big blind Trung Ha Nguyen made the call.

It was a classic flip. Kiourntzidis stayed safe on the flop 8♠ 8♦ 2♣ and turn J♣ , but the river A♥ came in Nguyen’s favor, earning him the pot and pushing his stack past the 2 million mark.

Nguyen picked up a straight draw on the flop but couldn’t connect as the board ran out 5♦ Q♠ 8♠ 8♦ 2♥, keeping Pham ahead and securing him the double.

Middle position Jeremy Chan raised to 560,000, leaving only 30,000 behind. Small blind Peng Yang shoved all in, and Chan, already committed, quickly called.

The flop K♣ 6♦ 8♥ gave Yang top pair, and Chan was drawing dead after the turn 8♦. The river J♦ was just a formality. Yang, ecstatic after winning the big all-in, shouted, “I’m a superstar!” leaving the field laughing at his celebration.

After a series of preflop shoves from short stacks at Table 3, cutoff Le Giang Nam moved his 340,000 stack into the middle and was called by button Xuan Thuy Ngo:

Nam was dominated and needed help, but the 4♣ 6♥ 3♥ flop only offered a straight draw. The board ran out 2♦ J♦, bringing no improvement and sending him to the payout desk.

Kun Han Lee opened and then jammed for 705,000 after Nhon Quang Tan 3-bet jammed on the button.

This time, no aces were cracked. The board ran in favor of Lee, securing a massive double-up.

The field has narrowed down to 44 players, and the race for the title is heating up. Here’s a look at the current chip leaders as the tournament moves closer to the final table.

Vu Tuan Khanh Truong raised to 65,000 from middle position and was three-bet shoved by Xiaotong Yu in the cutoff, prompting a swift fold from Truong.

In the next hand, Yu raised to 60,000 and big blind Kun Han Lee moved 180,000 into the middle. Yu burned through a couple of timebanks before ultimately deciding on a fold, showing his pocket nines in the process.

Lee also revealed his hand, but it was swiftly hidden and shuffled by the dealer, from the reaction and subsequent conversation from the table likely ace-queen or ace-king.

Fresh from his win last night in the High Roller Championship, Thanh Tung Nguyen opened on the cutoff for 70,000. Big blind Truong Thu Pham 3-bet shoved, and Nguyen snap-called all in for 420,000.

Nguyen was ahead preflop, but the flop 9♠ K♠ 4♦ brought danger, giving Pham one of his two outs. The turn 9♥ delivered the miracle, Pham improved to quads, sending Nguyen out and soaring up the chip counts.

Small blind Zhou Yu moved all-in for his last ~300,000 chips and big blind Anh Nguyen Hong called with a marginally covering stack:

Yu was in deep trouble against Hong’s bullets, and although both players made full houses on the K♠ Q♦ 7♥ Q♥ Q♣ board, Hong’s aces comfortably held to end Yu’s run.

With 350,000 already in the middle T♣ 8♥ 3♦ 7♥ , Alex Tiew fired a 200,000 bet and was called by Day 2 chip leader Tongfei Xu. After the dealer dealt the river 8♦ , Tiew quickly shoved for 200,000. Xu thought for 10 seconds and folded his hand.

Cutoff Seongmin Lee opened to 50,000 and was called by Anh Dung Tran in the big blind.

Both players checked the J♣ 2♥ 5♠ flop, and Tran took the lead on the 6♠ turn with a 60,000 bet, which quickly got through as Lee folded.

In the following hand, UTG Junqiang Lyu moved all-in for 340,000, and action folded to big blind Viet Anh Nguyen, who announced all-in as well, seemingly unaware Lyu had already shoved. The cards were tabled:

UTG Peng Yang opened 50,000, folded to small blind Andreas Christodoulou made it 125,000. Peng Yang called. Christodoulou c-bet 65,000 on the flop J♠ 4♣ 3♣ . After hearing Christodoulou's bet, Yang snap-raised all in, and Christodoulou wasted no time before pushing all of his chips for 285,000.

Christodoulou is ahead with overpair and held on the turn A♣ , until the river T♠ came and gave Yang a two pair. Yang shouted while standing on his chair and bursting with joy, while Christodoulou silently walked to the cashier.

UTG Hoang Duy Nguyen opened to two big blinds, and Hai Long Hoang defended his big blind. On the flop T♠ T♣ 3♥ , Hoang check-raised all in for 130,000 after Nguyen c-bet 50,000. Nguyen called.
