Duy Tuan Nguyen Wins GLPC Powered By USOP Championship Event!

Level 34: 200,000 / 400,000 ante: 400,000
Duy Tuan Nguyen

The last two days of the GLPC Powered By USOP Series were packed with energy and intense competition. The VND 10 Billion Guaranteed Championship Event drew 843 entries across five Day 1 flights. Of the 108 players who made the money, only 107 returned for Day 2 after Junqiang Lyu bagged twice. The prize pool soared to VND 10,621,800,000 (~US$403,225), and in the end, Duy Tuan Nguyen emerged as the champion, taking home VND 1,711,600,000 (~US$64,975), his biggest live cash, and a prestigious trophy, marking a career-defining moment.

Duy Tuan Nguyen entered the final table as the chip leader, boosting his stack after eliminating Ngo Xuan Thuy (13th Place) and Anh Dung Trin (10th Place) on the bubble. The final table began with eight players, as Trin and Chen Hao (9th Place) had been sent home just before the official start. Final table just started, Duy Tuan’s dominance was clear. He cracked Tien Dung Pham’s (8th Place) kings after hitting an open-ended straight on the river, sending a shock through the table and extending his massive chip lead.

Final Table

Despite the daunting stack in front of them, the other players kept fighting. Peng Yang, full of energy and determination, tried his best in a three-way all-in against Alex Tiew and Ledong Zhou, but luck was not on his side. Alex Tiew hit a set on the flop, tripling up and sending Peng Yang (7th Place) home.

The swings continued as Ledong Zhou (6th Place) pushed with ace-king against Trung Ha Nguyen’s ace-jack, only to see the board favor Trung Ha, who hit a straight on the turn.

Peng Yang - 7th Place

While the field narrowed, Kun Han Lee (5th Place) was next to exit, failing to hit an ace against Trung Ha’s queens. By then, Duy Tuan Nguyen controlled seventy percent of the chips, while Trung Ha had just a third of his stack. The tension was palpable. In a single hand, Alex Tiew (3rd Place) and Akshay Nasa (4th Place) were both eliminated by Duy Tuan, who flopped a set, sending them home in double elimination. The crowd felt every beat of the action, watching the clash of the remaining Vietnamese stars.

Final Showdown

Heads-up play began with Duy Tuan Nguyen holding a commanding lead against Trung Ha Nguyen. After just 14 hands, the battle reached its climax. Both players went all in preflop one final time. Trung Ha held ace-king while Duy Tuan had queen-seven suited. They both paired on the flop, but the turn brought trips for Duy Tuan, and Trung Ha could not find his two outer on the river. The crowd erupted as Duy Tuan Nguyen lifted the Championship Event Trophy, a fitting end to a thrilling and hard-fought journey.

Congratulations to all the players who battled through a grueling tournament. Every hand, every decision, and every moment of courage made this event unforgettable.

"Every hand is a story, and every decision writes your legacy."

Bust Out Frenzy

Level 30: 100,000 / 150,000 ante: 150,000

The final 10 players are on edge, and the table exploded with action as bustouts came fast.

First to go in 10th place was Anh Dung Trin, shoving his last 925,000 with K J . Chip leader Duy Tuan Nguyen calmly called with A 7 . The board 9 4 3 T T ran dry for Trin, and just like that, he was eliminated.

The next hand saw Chen Hao shove 825,000 with A 6 , only for Alex Tiew to jam 925,000 with 8 8 . The ace never came on the board Q 9 3 T 3 , and Hao’s run ended in 9th place, heartbreakingly close to the final table. The tension is now at its peak as the remaining eight players fight for the title.

UTG Tien Dung Pham raised to 240,000 and was called by Jie Zheng in early position, leaving himself just a few chips behind. Button Xuan Thuy Ngo and big blind Kun Han Lee also came along, sending four players to the flop.

On the A K 7 flop, Lee checked and Pham continued for 275,000. After burning through most of his timebanks, Zheng pushed the rest of his chips in. Ngo called to create a side pot, while Lee quickly got out of the way.

The 5 landed on the turn, and Pham fired again, this time for 1,000,000. Ngo counted out the call, and both players checked the 9 river.

Zheng’s king-five made two pair to secure a crucial quadruple-up, while Pham claimed the side pot with ace-ten for top pair, top kicker, besting Ngo’s ace-eight.

Brutal River Knocks Out Phu; Final Two Tables Set

Level 27: 40,000 / 80,000 ante: 80,000

Small blind Pham Truong Thu moved all-in and was called by big blind Ledong Zhou, to Thu’s surprise, with both players holding similar stacks:

Pham Truong Thu: A 5

Ledong Zhou: T T

Thu celebrated the A J 3 flop after pairing his ace to take the lead. The 9 on the turn brought a flush sweat for Zhou, and while the river didn’t complete it, the T instead gave him a set, eliminating Thu and finalising the last two tables.

Ngo Pressures Trinh; Kim Keeps Quiet

Level 26: 30,000 / 60,000 ante: 60,000

Quoc Phu Ngo opened to 120,000 from middle position and found a caller in big blind Anh Dung Trinh. On the 5 8 3 flop, Trinh check-folded to Ngo’s 175,000 continuation-bet.

In the following hand, Peng Yang raised to 120,000, and his neighbour Jinhwan Kim three-bet to 300,000, leaving just 10,000 behind. Yang tried to strike up a deal, asking if Kim would show if he folded, but got no reply. After a brief pause, Yang folded, flashing his king-ten, slightly disappointed when Kim kept his cards to himself.

Nguyen flopped K J 3 a set, leaving Lyu drawing dead, but the turn T gave Lyu a chance after hitting his set. Still needing one out on the river 7 , Lyu missed. Nguyen’s jacks held, and later on, Lyu was eliminated in 24th place.

Anh Takes Down Three-Way Pot; Eliminates Ha

Level 26: 30,000 / 60,000 ante: 60,000

After losing most of his stack in a previous hand, Manh Tuong Ha moved all-in for his last ~155,000 chips. Khanh Duy Ta three-bet to 230,000, only for Dung Trinh Anh to four-bet shove with the second shortest stack. Ta made the call, and the cards were revealed:

Manh Tuong Ha: A 8

Dung Trinh Anh: A K

Khanh Duy Ta: T T

Anh hit top pair on the 6 K 3 flop to move firmly ahead. Ha paired both his ace and eight on the 8 A runout, but it wasn’t enough to catch Anh, who scooped the pot and sent Ha to the rail just before the three-table redraw.

UTG Minh Quang Sai opened to 40,000 and picked up calls from cutoff Vu Tuan Khanh Truong and big blind Nhon Quang Tang, taking the action three ways to the flop.

Tang check-folded on the 4 9 5 board after Truong fired 55,000 and Sai made the call.

Both players checked the K turn, leading to the 6 river, where Sai led out for 80,000. Truong took a brief moment before announcing all-in, and Sai quickly folded.

Nguyen Cracks Adam’s Aces

Level 21: 10,000 / 20,000 ante: 20,000

Viet An Nguyen opened to 40,000 and called when Alfie Adam raised to 110,000. On the flop K T 7 , Nguyen checked and Adam fired 85,000. Nguyen raised to 205,000, and Adam, after using a time bank, shoved for 455,000. Nguyen snap-called.

Alfie Adam: A A

Viet An Nguyen: T 8

Nguyen, with only middle pair, snap-called, making the players at the table gasp. It felt like Nguyen knew the next card would be in his favor, and the turn came 8 , giving him a two pair. Adam still had outs, but the river J missed. Adam’s aces were cracked by Viet An Nguyen.

Level 20: 10,000 / 15,000 ante: 15,000

When we arrived at the table, the cards of Truong Vu Tuan Khanh and Jiwon Mun were already face up. Khanh was all in for 225,000, covered by Mun.

Jiwon Mun: A K

Mun was dominated preflop, but the flop J 8 3 delivered one of Khanh's three outs, and he sealed the double-up on the turn J by improving to trip jacks. The river 5 was just a formality as Khanh stayed alive in the tournament.

Table 11 Action

Level 20: 10,000 / 15,000 ante: 15,000

On a flop of 9 2 6, Ngoc Gia Huy Co moved all in for his remaining 120,000 chips against cutoff Jinhwan Kim. Kim, with only 25,000 left behind from preflop action, went deep into the tank; his timebanks steadily being picked off one by one.

A the final few seconds ticked away, the floor informed the table that the money jump had already occurred. Without hesitation, Kim committed the rest of his stack, and the cards went on their backs:

Jinhwan Kim: A Q

Ngoc Gia Huy Co: K J

The 4 3 runout kept Kim’s ace high ahead, earning him a much-needed double.

In the following hand, cutoff Christos Chronis opened to 40,000 and big blind Tien Dung Pham made the call.

The dealer spread 5 K 3, and Pham check-called a 40,000 continuation bet. Action repeated on the 9 turn, this time for 75,000.

The 4 completed the board, and though Pham’s final words weren’t entirely clear - likely a check - Chronis sent his hand into the muck as Pham tabled K J for top pair.

Sungrock Jung

Hand 1:

Lloyd Fontillas opened to 25,000 from middle position and received a call from Sungrock Jung in the big blind.

On the J 6 2 flop, Jung check-folded to Fontillas’ 25,000 continuation bet.

Hand 2:

Fontillas opened to 24,000 and picked up three callers: Duy Ta Khanh in the hijack, Truong Thu Pham on the cutoff, and Teoh Kok Wei in the big blind.

The dealer spread the 9 7 3 flop, where Wei check-folded to Fontillas’ 27,000 continuation bet, while Khanh and Pham stuck around.

The 8 landed on the turn, and Fontillas fired again for 40,000. Khanh folded, and Pham responded with a raise to 130,000, enough to push Fontillas off the hand as he mucked his cards.

Hand 3:

Sun Yuan opened to 25,000 from under the gun and was called by Khanh in middle position. Tuan Anh Nguyen then three-bet shoved for 121,000, leaving a single chip behind. Khanh four-bet to put him all in, and the cards were revealed:

Tuan Anh Nguyen: A K

Duy Ta Khanh: K Q

Both paired their king on the T T 6 K 8 runout, but Nguyen’s ace kicker sealed the double-up.
