After two days of intense battle against some of the top players in the world, the tournament recorded 45 entries and a total prize pool of VND 2,000,000,000 (approximately US$75,900). Thanh Tung Nguyen emerged as the champion of the High Roller Championship.

Thanh Tung Nguyen entered the final table as the chip leader and from start to finish, he never took his foot off the gas.

The first casualty came early as Peter Kiem was eliminated in 7th place, falling to none other than the chip leader himself, Thanh Tung Nguyen.

At 6th place, Duy Thuc Nguyen was sent to the rail after losing two crucial hands against Yun Sung Jin. In their first clash, Duy’s ace-king fell to Jin’s ace-queen when a queen appeared on the flop, giving Jin a big double up. Shortly after, Duy shoved his remaining 6 big blinds and was again defeated by Jin.

Not long after, Juns Leong exited in 5th place. Leong’s pocket threes could not hold in a flip against Oliver Joe Hagan-Burt’s ace-jack, as Hagan-Burt hit a jack on the river.

Still holding the lead with four players left, Thanh Tung Nguyen added even more to his stack when he eliminated Yun Sung Jin in 4th place. Despite climbing from just 10 big blinds, Jin’s run ended against the unstoppable chip leader.

With three players remaining, Oliver Joe Hagan-Burt gained momentum, finding several key spots against Nguyen to briefly claim the chip lead. However, the tide quickly turned when the two clashed preflop. Hagan-Burt’s kings were cracked by Nguyen’s ace-queen suited after an ace landed on the flop, putting Nguyen back in command.

Nguyen continued applying pressure, constantly shoving into Robert Kiss’s big blind. Tired of the aggression, Kiss finally called and scored a double up. But his comeback was short lived. In their next confrontation, Kiss’s ace-eight was ahead of Nguyen’s eight-six until a miracle six appeared on the river, eliminating Kiss in 3rd place.

Heads up play began with Nguyen holding a 5 to 1 chip advantage over Hagan-Burt, and it did not last long. On the very first hand, Nguyen’s ace-nine dominated Hagan Burt’s queen-nine, and the board ran clean.

Just like that, Thanh Tung Nguyen was crowned the High Roller Champion, taking home VND 800,100,000 (approximately US$30,370) and the prestigious trophy!

In the very first hand of heads-up play, Thanh Tung Nguyen moved all in and was called by Oliver Hagan-Burt, taking them straight to showdown:

Nguyen was ahead preflop, and both players paired their nine on the 5♠ T♠ 9♥ flop. Hagan-Burt’s queen kicker wasn’t enough to catch up, and the J♦ 3♣ runout confirmed Nguyen’s victory, crowning him the champion and leaving Hagan-Burt as the runner-up.

After an intense battle at the final table, only two players remain in the fight for the High Roller Championship!

Kiss checked again on the K♥, and Hagan-Burt followed suit.

On the 7♣ river, Kiss checked for a third time before folding to Hagan-Burt’s 675,000 bet.

Thanh Tung Nguyen opened to 250,000, and Robert Kiss 3-bet to 700,000. Nguyen didn’t back down and announced all in, with Kiss snap-calling for 2,000,000.

UTG Oliver Joe opened to 200,000, and Yun Sung Jin defended his big blind. Joe continued with a 125,000 bet on the flop K♦ J♠ T♦ and 230,000 on the turn 2♠ ,both called by Jin, who held a gutshot and a flush draw.

Jin missed his draws on the river 3♥ , both players checked, and Joe took down the pot.

Button Robert Kiss raised to 200,000 and small blind Sung Jin Yun made the call.

The dealer spread Q♥ 6♠ 7♠ on the flop and Yun checked, with Kiss checking behind.

On the J♥ turn, Yun led out for 180,000 and Kiss called.

The K♥ completed the board, and Yun fired 400,000 into the middle. Kiss quickly folded - Yun’s hole cards were T♥ 9♥ for a straight flush on the river!

Both players checked the J♠ river, and Nguyen revealed A♥ 5♣ for a winning pair of fives, as Hagan-Burt mucked.

Cutoff Juns Leong opened to 275,000, leaving just 15,000 behind. Button Oliver Joe Hagan-Burt flat-called. On the flop K♦ T♦ 6♠ , Leong pushed his remaining chips and was instantly called.

Nguyen hit middle pair and fired 210,000 on the flop J♣ 9♣ 2♠ . Kiss, holding an open-ended straight draw, made the call. He completed his straight on the turn Q♥ and bet 385,000 after Nguyen checked. Nguyen used a time bank before laying it down.

Hagan-Burt and Kiss checked the 7♦ 2♠ 6♣ flop, prompting Yun to fire 175,000 into the middle. Both opponents quickly folded, sending the pot Yun’s way.

The VND 60M High Roller Championship has reached its final day at the GLPC, with just seven players remaining from a 45-entry field. Each of the finalists has already secured a share of the VND 2,000,000,000 guaranteed prize pool, but all eyes are now on the top prize and coveted title.

Leading the way is local player Nguyen Thanh Tung with a commanding 4,970,000, followed by Robert Kiss of the United States on 3,720,000, while another hometown contender and Main Event final tablist, Nguyen Duy Thuc, rounds out the top three with 715,000.
