Day 1D of the TMT 18 Main Event brought another wave of players to Red Space, Taipei, with 817 entries taking their shot at the NTD 31 million (~USD 1M) guaranteed prize pool. After eighteen levels of play, 123 players made the money, with just 65 bagging chips for Day 2.

Local runner Su Wei Ku quietly climbed the ranks throughout the day before exploding late to bag 794,000 (79 BB) and take the lead across the field. Close behind are compatriot Pin Chun Chen with 724,000 (72 BB) and South Korea’s Chanwook Park and Sung Hak Lee, who both finished strong with identical stacks of 669,000 (67 BB).

On another table right on bubble time saw Chanwook Park open to 200,000. Yung Han Tsao in the small blind, called off his last 129,000, and found himself running a flip for his tournament life.

The board K♣ 2♣ 5♦ 8♠ K♠ this time, landed in favor of the overcards, closing the heat with Tsao out of a Day 2 ticket.

Byungho Lim risked his last 168,000 right on bubble time, and ran smack into Cai Xin Wong's premium ace six seats down the line.

Lim dominated, failed to escape his fate as the board A♣ Q♣ 8♣ 7♣ 5♠ kept him behind all the way through.

Fung Tsun Ming opened utg+1, only to face a hefty 50,000 three bet from Chiawei Hsu on the button. Eunsu Park cold called from the big blind, prompting Ming to shove his remaining 163,000. Hsu called, but Park wasn’t done yet as he reshoved to isolate Ming. Seeing the heat, Hsu wisely folded, preserving his stack as the day’s end drew near.

Gunning for overcards, Ming found one on river 6♦ 7♣ 5♥ 6♠ Q♦ , earning him more room to maneuver with the bubble looming.

Mitchell Mackey opened in early position and was priced in to call Hoi Kiu Chan's shove for just 70,000 more.

While significantly behind, Mackey's run remained unstoppable as the board 7♥ 8♠ 4♠ T♠ T♦ left Chan's pocket pair entirely in pieces.

Hyunsick Jang opened to 20,000 and found three callers behind, revealing flop 6♠ 9♠ 8♦ . Jang continued for 30,000, but was unable to get past Kristine Flores' jam for 125,000 total. All else folded, shipping Flores the pot unchallenged.

Chanwook Park limped in, pushing Martin Gonzales to take the plunge and shove his last 118,000. Park gladly took the spot, and picked up the boost as his ace-high remained ahead all the way through board 7♠ 9♥ 4♣ 7♦ 2♠ .

Kuan Yu Chen pushed his last 73,000 and was looked up by Fangchi Hsueh right on the big blind.

Chen dominated, stepped out the arena after failing to catch up on board 2♣ 2♠ J♣ 8♦ T♥ .

Wei Peng Chen open ripped his short stack utg and was followed with another push from Chun Kit Lai a seat after. All else folded, leaving the two to showdown.

Chen at risk, dodged elimination, having found a pair of aces on board 7♠ T♥ 8♠ A♣ 3♣ .

Action on Table 22 was picked up on the turn with over 60,000 already in the pot and the board showing 6♥ 8♠ 5♦ 5♥ . Mitchell Mackey kept up the pressure with a 40,000 bet, which Jui En Hu check called from the big blind.

On river K♣ , Mackey demanded for the rest, leaving Hu unconvinced as he risked his last 90,000 with two pair K♥ 6♦ , only to be shown the door as Mackey tabled trip fives 7♣ 5♣ .

Running thin, Ko Fei Fang flicked in his last 23,000 folded to him on the button, leaving Ho Chih Hung in the big blind priced in to call.

Fang significantly ahead, finished his Day 1D run with a painful beat as the board J♣ 7♥ 8♦ T♠ 5♣ landed Hung a straight to bust him out.

All remaining 123 players are now guaranteed a share of the prize pool, with play continuing down until 66 survivors are left on the floor.

Action began with an open from Kah Jun Chin, followed by a 27,000 three bet from Pin Chun Chen on the button. Chin responded with another raise to 71,000, and Chen completed.

On flop 3♦ 3♣ 5♠ , Chin wasted no time getting it in, putting the pressure on his opponent right on the money bubble. Chen tanked and eventually called off his 130,000 behind with Q♥ Q♠ , only to find the bad news as Chin turned over K♥ K♠ .

Lucky for Chen, the turn Q♣ shipped him the odds entirely, locking in the win on river 8♣ for the full double up.

A back and forth exchange between Hirotoshi Nakabo and the player to his left landed both stacks in the middle, Nakabo in rough shape for his last 98,000.

Board 8♣ 7♠ J♠ 5♦ 2♣ kept Ang's ladies ahead from start to finish, earning him the quadruple up. Victor Chen on the other hand, took the side pot to cut his losses while both short stacks made their exit.

Sangbum Kim open jammed 41,000 on the hijack and ran smack into Sheng Chieh Hsu's premium pair a seat after.

No help for Kim arrived on board 5♥ K♥ 7♣ 6♣ T♠ , sending him bound for the exit.

Up against an early open and a call, Kah Jun Chin in the big blind made it 12,000 to go. Initial raiser Jing Chiu made the call, only to find Pin Chun Chen behind bump it further to 30,000. Both opponents slipped the fold, earning Chen the pot uncontested.

A blind vs blind confrontation between Chih Yao Chang and Chien Wei Lin was picked up on the turn Q♦ A♠ 6♥ 3♦ with only a 9,000 pot in the middle. After a series of betting, both stacks rushed in, leaving Chang at risk for his remaining 37,000.

Chang crushed against Lin's two pair, was in luck to see the river roll a J♠ , sparing him from elimination.

Another three-way all-in landed on the felt, with Kah Jun Chin comfortably covering both opponents and dominating their hands - 9♦ 9♠ and A♥ K♣ with his K♦ K♠.

The board 3♥ 4♦ 7♥ 6♣ 4♠ ran clean for Chin, who scooped the pot and sent both players packing in quick fashion.

Action folded down to the button, who open ripped 34,000. Ho Chih Hung made the call in the small blind, and was followed by another push from the big blind. Hung shelled out more chips, keeping it a three way affair.

A back and forth between Chenyu Sung and Yun Tse Chin saw the latter make the final call, putting Sung at risk for his entire 47,500.

In for a flip, Sung's overcards took it this time on board A♥ 6♠ K♦ 4♠ 7♣ , earning him a clean double up.

Wei Leh Hua opened to 4,000 from mid-position and got action from both blinds on a flop of 9♥ J♠ 7♠ . Hua continued for 7,000, only to face a check-raise from Asano Shoko in the small blind. Not backing down, Hua moved all-in, and Shoko called off her remaining 57,500.

Vying for 28,000 in the middle across board T♠ 4♦ 7♣ 7♠ , Muteng Liu pushed his last 20,500 with a combo draw and was challenged by Ho Chih Hung with top pair A♠ T♣ .

Unfortunately for Liu, the river 2♦ peeled none of his outs, sending him to the rail in today's Day 1D games.

After scoring a 20 BB boost by holding 8♠ 8♣ against a short stack’s shove with A♠ Q♥, Chang Wei Yu found himself back in the mix after flatting an early position open from the button.

Action on flop K♦ 8♦ A♦ was checked to turn 7♠ , where his opponent fired a 5,500 delayed cbet. Yu made the call, then matched another 12,000 on the river T♦ , heading to showdown with A♥ 7♥ for two pair, more than enough to beat his opponent’s J♠ J♣ .

Registration has officially closed for Day 1D of the TMT 18 Main Event, bringing in another massive 817 entries to the growing field at Red Space, Taipei.

Out of today’s entries, 123 players will lock up a cash, but only 66 will make it through to Day 2. With this flight, the Main Event has now surpassed 2,600 total entries across four starting days, as we head into the back half of the schedule.

Bidding for a 20,000 pot on a 2♦ 5♥ 6♥ flop, three way action saw the big blind lead out for 9,000, with both Gyeong Beom Kim and Po Chun making the call behind.

The 4♦ landed on the turn, completing a straight for Kim, who promptly jammed his remaining 30,800. Chun made the call, while the big blind stepped aside to send the hand to showdown.

Action was picked up on the turn 8♠ 7♣ J♠ 2♦ , with over 25,000 already in the middle. Yu Hsiang Huang led out with a pot-sized bet but was put to the test after Shaotang Lu moved all-in for 58,400. After a long tank, Huang decided to lay it down, shipping the pot to Lu without a showdown.

A fourway raised pot read a flop of 2♦ J♠ 4♥ . Action was checked to Dahun Kim on the cutoff, pushing him to bet 5,000. Only Yeh Hung Wei in the small blind found a reason to continue, but gave it up instantly as Kim demanded for the rest of his chips on turn K♠ .

With the pot swelled to 25,000 on a Q♠ 3♦ 3♣ flop, Beommo Koo took a stab with a 5,500 bet, only to face an all-in check-raise from Jang Ho Moon for 17,000 more. Koo gave it some thought, but ultimately tossed his cards into the muck, conceding the pot to Moon without further contest.

Fresh off a boost, Shen Hao got entangled in a decisive pot, where he risked his tournament life with T♦ 7♦ on a board showing K♣ Q♦ J♠ 8♥ 4♠ . Byungho Lim was happy to look him up, tabling a set of jacks J♦ J♣ for the win.

In battle for a 10,000 pot across flop 3♦ A♥ Q♠ , Wei Chun Lin shot out a 6,000 bet against Changu Han. Han made the call and got a free pass on turn 8♠ , but faced an 8,000 final barrel on river K♦ . Han paid the price, only to muck as Lin revealed a set of queens Q♦ Q♣ to earn the pot.

Shen Hao fired a three bet against a late position open and called off his opponent's 21,500 all-in for a showdown.

Running a coinflip, Hao's pocket pair held firm through board 3♥ J♣ 3♠ 8♥ K♠ , sending his opponent out of the Day 1D charge.

A three way raised pot went to a flop of 2♥ 6♦ A♦ , where action checked to Jaryd Jardien in the cutoff. Jardien fired 1,500, only to be check-raised by Karessa Cherie Lin to 3,000. Myeongsoo So called behind, and Jardien came along as well.

The 6♥ turn saw Lin take the lead with a 4,800 bet, and close out the action with a final 9,700 barrel on river 2♦ . Jardien paid both streets but mucked as Lin tabled A♥ 6♣ for a full house.

Preflop action between Jung Hwan Kim and Beommo Koo brewed a pot of 14,000 in the middle. On board 8♦ J♠ K♥ 3♥ , Kim led both streets for 6,500 and 15,000. Koo responded with an all-in for 30,800 on the second barrel, only to be snapped by Kim for a showdown.

Up against an early open and a call, Li Yang Hsu shot out a raise to 4,400 and saw both opponents complete. Three way action on flop T♣ K♣ T♦ was checked to turn 2♦ , where Hsu bet 5,200. One stepped up to the plate, but let it go not long after Hsu went for a final barrel on river 7♠ .

Back on the floor following an early elimination, Naiyasit Boonsiri lit up with a 1,000 open utg and was joined by four other players behind.

On board 2♦ Q♠ J♦ 3♣ , Boonsiri double barreled 2,000 and 8,000, enough to pick up the pot uncontested.

Action was picked up on the flop 8♦ 6♠ A♥ with Jui Hsu Tse already all-in for a main pot of 2,000, and a 9,000 side pot between Kuang Shu Hung and Tungkai Young in the middle.

Hung check called 5,000 from Young, and faced another 8,000 barrel on turn Q♥ . This time around, Hung pushed his remaining 13,600 in and was snapped by Young with top pair.

Opponent behind risked his last 15,800 with a flush draw K♥ Q♥ , but just couldn't find a third heart to beat Tsao's flopped trips K♦ 4♦ on runout A♣ 9♦ .

A three bet pot led by Naiyasit Boonsiri in the big blind saw the pot swell to over 30,000 on flop 2♦ 6♠ K♦ . On turn 8♥ , Boonsiri committed his remaining 24,500 and was snapped by Hyunwoo Chae behind.
