The second of eight flights of the TMT 18 Main Event came to a thrilling close as 502 entries packed today’s Day 1B Turbo heat. After nearly ten hours of intense, fast-paced action, only 41 players emerged with bags in hand, securing their spots into Day 2.

South Korea’s Jun Beum Chun topped the field, sealing the final knockout in the very last hand of the night to close out the day. Chun bagged a towering 1,013,000 (51 BB) stack, nearly on par with Day 1A chip leader Zeng Chen Win. At quite a distance were Taiwan’s Cheng You Yao with 719,000 (36 BB) and Huang Teng I with 668,000 (33 BB), both locking in commanding performances to close among the top three.

Also advancing was past champion Chiayun Wu, who navigated the turbo format with poise to end the day with a solid 421,000 (21 BB).

On the fourth hand of bubble time, Chan Lok open jammed his 206,000 stack from the cutoff and nearly got away with it until Jun Beum Chun in the big blind paused and eventually made the call with K♦ J♦ , putting Chan at risk with K♣ 8♦ .

Board J♠ 7♣ 2♥ A♦ 4♦ left Chan in pieces as the stone cold bubble while Chun shot up the ranks to top the field and ring Day 1B to a close.

Yuzhe Zheng opened 40,000 utg and shelled out just 39,000 more following an all-in from Ming Cheung behind.

Zheng gunning for an ace, found none on board K♣ J♣ 3♣ J♥ T♠ , sparing Cheung from a potential elimination to keep his tournament hopes alive.

With an all-in ahead from Ming Cheung, Yi Feng Hsiao on the big blind, took the spot for his last 35,000, putting himself at risk for a bubble elimination.

Fortunately for Hsiao, the board Q♥ Q♦ 7♥ K♦ 9♠ steered clear of any aces, keeping him right on his seat.

Kristof Segers opened 32,000 in early position and was joined by Teng I Huang on the cutoff.

Segers continued for 35,000 on flop A♥ 9♠ 7♠ and responded with an all-in following a 130,000 raise from his opponent. Huang called off his 152,000 behind with a set 7♦ 7♣ , and found himself poised to double up against Segers' top pair A♦ T♠ .

Huang further improved to quads on runout 4♦ 7♥ to seal the win, cutting Segers' stack by half.

Day 1B action is heating up at bubble time, with just one more elimination needed before the flight wraps up. 41 players will lock in a seat into Day 2, joining Day 1A's 79-qualifier list.

Pang Wei Tsao pushed his last 68,000 in the middle, followed by a hefty raise from Kristof Segers three seats down the line. Phan Huu Minh Tri on the big blind, joined in on the action, making it a three way showdown.

Board A♣ 3♦ 7♣ 9♠ 6♦ earned Tsao the main pot with top pair, scoring him a full triple up, while Phan took the side pot to offset his losses.

A preflop showdown unfolded with Byungho Lim all in for his full stack of 231,000 against cutoff raiser Jun Beum Chun. Lim stayed hopeful through the turn A♦ 4♥ 3♣ K♥ , but was left ultimately crushed as the river T♦ bricked out to end his run.

Only eight knockouts remain before Day 1B Turbo comes to a close. From the 502 entries, just 41 players are guaranteed a spot into Day 2.

A preflop back and forth between Chi Hang Chang and Kristof Segers ended with Segers making the final call, putting Chang’s entire 260,000 stack on the line.

It was a classic flip, where the board 3♠ 4♣ A♦ T♣ K♦ this time, ran in favor of Segers' overcards, eliminating Chang from the Day 1B running.

Action folded to Li Wei Kuo on the button, who open jammed against two short stacks behind. The small blind called off his last 10,000, and Anson Lau followed suit from the big blind for a larger 103,000.

In for a race, the board 7♠ 2♣ T♥ 7♥ 3♥ landed ten-high, sealing the win for Lau with two pair. Kuo survived the damage but was left crippled down to four big blinds.

Chan Lok opened midposition and was priced in to call Yuzhe Zheng's 90,000 all-in on the button.

Despite the affordable call, Lok ran into the top of Zheng’s range and could only watch as the board ran out 2♣ J♦ 6♦ 5♦ 6♣ , offering him no help.

Hsiang Wei Wang opened to 20,000 from mid position and was met with two shoves behind. Without hesitation, Wang made the final call, turning over the best hand in the deck and putting two opponents at risk simultaneously.

A dream spot for Wang, his advantage failed to falter across board 9♠ Q♥ J♠ 7♣ 4♥ , keeping him ahead from start to finish to deliver the double bust.

On the third hand of bubble time, Chang Ju Wu open ripped his last 50,000 and was looked up by Yen Hsiu Lin two seats over.

Chang dominated, missed to catch up on board 9♥ A♥ 5♥ 4♠ 3♥ , crashing just one spot shy of banking a profit.

A back and forth exchange between Ming Pui Cheung and Yi Ming Hong saw the latter make the final call for his 6 BB stack, gladly risking his tournament life right on the bubble.

Hong in great form, smooth sailed to victory, easily scooping up a clean double across board T♥ 8♥ 5♥ 6♠ 9♣ .

The tournament clock has been paused as the field enters bubble time. With just 77 players left and only 76 slated to earn a share of the prize pool, tension is running high across the arena. Today’s action will continue down to 41 players advancing to Day 2.
