TMT 17 NLH Master Day1A concluded with Zheng Xuan Cai taking the chip lead heading into Day2. With a total of 231 entries, the flight ran through 14 levels before the bubble burst. Out of the total number of entries, 35 players made it into Day 2 taking place 2 Wednesday, 15 January at 11:00.

Day 1A chip leader Zheng Xuan Cai had an intense journey filled with ups and downs. His journey to accumulate a massive stack of 884,000 [147 BB] began when he knocked out Gary Ma with top pair over a missed draw. To end the day, Zheng delivered the bubble, eliminating Jui Tai with a higher kicker.

Coming in second in chips was Taiwan’s Jun Zhong Wang with 526,000 [87BB]. In third was Jee Weon Kim of Korea with 477,000 [79BB] . Other notable players moving on to Day 2 were Philippines David Erquiaga, Germany’s Carsten Klug, and Wu Chiayun.

Both players check and the river brings 6♠ . O'Brien checks again but Matsumoto piles up another bet of 25,000 causing O'Brien to fold.

UTG+1 raises 3,500 pre-flop making Jonty O'Brien (HJ) and Hsien Yen Ting (BB) call to see the flop Q♠ K♣ 4♣ . Ting checks while UTG+1 bets 8,000 and O'Brien raises all-in with 58,000. Ting calls the all in with only 17,000. UTG+1 folds shying away from the high stakes game and the players reveal their hands. 3♣ J♣ with O'Brien while K♥ J♦ was with Yen Ting. The turn and river brought 4♠ and 3♥ and Hsieh doubles up his chips with two pairs of Kings and Jacks. A great comeback from his previous setbacks.
