China's Ning Chu Leads the Pack Going into Day 3 of the Red Dragon Plus Championship

After 11 hours of play in the 2026 Red Dragon Plus Championship Day 2, 85 players have successfully punched their tickets to Day 3. While all have locked up a minimum cash of KRW 8,400,000 (~USD 5,655), their focus will be on claiming the lion’s share of the KRW 3,217,536,000 (~USD 2,193,112) prize pool.

A total of 931 entries were recorded in the prestigious event across the four opening flights, with just 140 players paid. The 85 survivors will return to the venue tomorrow, and all eyes are on the top prize of KRW 546,386,000 (~USD 372,423).

Leading the field is China's Ning Chu, who finished Day 2 with a dominant stack of 2,590,000 in chips. Hot on Chu's heels is his compatriot Guoliang Wei with 2,440,000 chips, followed closely by a notable hunter, Lei Yu with 2,420,000, who rounds out the top three.

Day 2 Action

At the beginning of the day, the heat rose quickly as players collided with aggression, showing no mercy to one another. One of the early clashes featured a classic cooler: pocket aces against pocket kings. After Ying Zheng opened and Yuezeng Li jammed, Zheng called with rockets against Li’s cowboys, leaving Xueying Zhao out of the way. The aces stayed firmly ahead on the flop and turn, but a dramatic king on the river completed Li’s two-outer to crack the aces and send a big pot his way.

Day 2 also saw multiple pros’ Championship dreams come to an end. Among them was Nguyen Le, who sits atop the Vietnam All-Time Money List with over $5.4 million in lifetime earnings. Facing heavy turn pressure from Zehao Li, Le called off his remaining stack with a flopped pair of sixes but was behind Li’s flopped pair of sevens. With the river running dry, Le’s fate was sealed while Li raked in the pot.

Another pro to fall is Konstantin Held from Germany. In a massive pot, Lei Yu fired flop and turn barrels before shoving the river with pocket nines, putting Konstantin Held to the test for his tournament life. Held eventually called with pocket fives but was beaten, sending the huge pot Yu’s way and eliminating Held from the field.

Evgenii Chzhen got his short stack in with pocket nines on the flop but ran into Patrik Demus’ pocket kings. Despite picking up straight outs, the turn and the river bricked, ending Chzhen’s run as the tournament bubble boy.
