Day 1A of the Red Dragon Plus Championship, featuring a KRW 1.8 billion guarantee and the unique champion’s jacket with golden stitching around the crimson dragon, came to a close at one of the most representative venues in Jeju, Les A Casino. The marquee event drew a 243-entry field by the end of the day, with just 78 players advancing through the competitive field to Day 2.

Leading the charge from the first opening flight is China's Jieming Xu with 959,000 chips. He is the only player to surpass the 900,000 chip mark at the end of the day. Chasing behind him is his country fellow Qiang Wang with a stack of 716,000, while anchoring the top three on the leaderboard is Jingjing Li, who also grinded deep and bagged 638,000 chips to cap off the night.

Day 1A Action

All hopefuls jumping into the prime event showed aggression early, with multiple thrilling hands playing out as the Red Dragon Championship kicked off its first opening flight. One of the highlighted hands saw one-time RDPT titlist Lili Tang fall in a six-bet pot against Isaac Hechanova. Facing Hechanova’s six-bet shove with his covering stack, Tang snap-called. Unfortunately, Tang’s Big Slick collided with Hechanova’s Ladies and found no help on a clean board, sending her to the rail.

Another victim of the back-to-back ruthless hands was poker elite Patrik Antonius. In the first hand, Antonius’ five-bet with pocket tens ran headfirst into Elizabeth Chen’s call with bullets. With the board offering no help, Antonius lost a chunk of chips to Chen. However, misfortune never comes singly. In the following hand, Antonius shoved the flop with pocket threes, facing off against Guoan Yuan’s pocket fours. The gods of poker didn’t switch sides as the runout showed no miracle, capping off the Finnish professional’s run.

However, unlike Tang and Antonius, the Danish pro, Martin Nielsen, survived successfully in a three-way pot against Junqiang Lyu and Ze Ping Li. Nielsen’s pocket tens flopped a full house on the board to crush Lyu’s trip fours and Li’s pocket sevens. With no help arriving on the turn or river, Lyu was eliminated while Nielsen dragged the massive pot.

At the last level of the day, a massive preflop clash saw Qiwei Han get involved with pocket aces against Rong Gu’s queens in a cooler hand. Han quickly sealed the hand by flopping the top set, leaving Gu drawing dead by the turn before the river confirmed his elimination.

A high-volume specialist known for his endurance and technical adaptability, Cao enters the field as one of the most consistent performers in the region. With over $725,000 in live earnings, he has quickly climbed the ranks to become a top-30 GPI player in China.

Red Dragon Plus Championship Takes Center Stage at RDPT PLUS 2026

Moving to the middle calendar at the RDPT PLUS 2026, the most-anticipated event, Red Dragon Plus Championship, takes the center and front of the stage by kicking off the first opening flight, Day 1A at 12:00 local time at the LES A Casino.

Boasting KRW 1.8 billion guaranteed, the flagship event is about to dominate the field with its marathon schedule. With a KRW 4,000,000 buy-in, contenders will play through ten 60-minute levels with a starting stack of 80,000.

A 15-minute break is scheduled after every two levels, with a 60-minute dinner break after Level 6 (around 18:30). Blinds start at 300/500, with a 500 big blind ante.
