APT Main Event

Flight A of VND 36,000,000 APT Main Event has concluded with 189 entries (142 unique) generated following ten 60-minute levels, with only 70 hopefuls successfully bagging up their chips and moving on to Day 2 on Thursday, Nov. 14th.

India’s Deepankur Gupta sits at the top of the leaderboard after navigating the day’s play and accumulating 307,800 chips, maintaining his momentum from an early level with strategic moves, including a key shove holding an eight.

The one close behind is Vietnam’s Dong Van Tan, an APT regular, who has also amassed a healthy stack of 290,500 for Day 2. Nguyen Trung Quan, winner of the 2023 APT Phu Quoc Super High Roller, has likewise maneuvered his way into a stellar position with 243,900 chips.

After grabbing the title of the 2024 APT Jeju Super Hyper Turbo – Win The Button, Philippines’ Charles Pansoy (226,800) is not going to let go of the chance to add another trophy to his record. He kept his ambition high and claimed yet another elimination by going all in with his pocket fours against Jennifer Cassel’s ace-deuce.

Motoyoshi Okamura (134,800), the 2022 APT Korea Incheon High Rollers champion, scored a thrilling double-up at the end of the last level, with his jack-nine blossoming into quads by the end of the hand.

Other notables to managed it to Day 2 include Taiwan’s Chi Jen “Justin” Chu (147,300), China’s Peng Chen (144,500), France’s Adrien Favre (122,500), and South Korea’s Gab Yong Kim (97,600).

Jia Han Lin opened under-the-gun to 2,500 and got three callers: Motoyoshi Okamura in middle position, Adrien Favre on the button, and Avneesh Munjal in the small blind.

The flop came down 9♠ K♦ 2♥ . After Munjal checked, Lin continued with a bet of 3,900, which was called by Okamura. The other two players folded, leaving it heads-up.

On the turn 9♣ , Okamura led out with 10,000, and Lin check-called. Finally, on the river 9♦ , Lin checked again, and Okamura shoved all-in for his tournament life with the end of the day so close. Lin called.

Okamura couldn’t contain his excitement as he doubled up with quads just before the day ended. Lin, on the other hand, was left with less than the starting stack.

It's a pre-flop showdown between Dylan Foster and Gab Yong Kim that seems to have frozen action at Table #48. With the two largest stacks on the table, their pre-flop battles left the other players chatting about anything and everything.

In one hand, Foster opened to 2,500 on the button, only for Kim to respond with a three-bet. When the action circled back, Foster four-bet to 26,000, prompting Kim to shove all-in. Foster folded.

Tuong Tran Khac in Seat #1 quietly remarked to Peng Chen and Wai Cheung Ka, “No one can make a move because it's always a three-bet, then a four-bet, then a five-bet.” Meanwhile, Milos Skrbic was engaged in friendly conversation with his tablemate Alexander Charron.

On the very next hand, Foster opened from the cutoff to 2,500, and Kim again three-bet, this time to 8,900. After the others folded, Foster countered with a four-bet to 30,000, which finally got Kim to fold. Foster showed pocket tens as he scooped the pot, earning a satisfied tap on the table from Kim.

Khac looked at them in disbelief, while Ka chuckled.

Tournament Director has announced the last 7 hands of the day before the players start bagging their chips.

Bui Anh raised to 2,500 from under the gun and received three callers, Romit Advani on the button, Phan Thang from the small blind, and Julian Warhurst from the small blind.

On the K♣ 5♥ 3♣ flop, the blinds checked it to Anh, who bet 2,200. Only Thang called to see the Q♦ land on the turn, where Thang bet 4,000 and Anh stuck around.

The 8♠ dropped on the river, and the action went check-check. Thang tabled ace-high with A♥ 4♥ , while Anh also flipped ace-high with A♠ J♣ , with Anh’s jack kicker securing the pot.

Vladimir Litasov opened the hi-jack with a 2,500 bet which was re-raised by Justin Tsui in small blind for 10,500. Litasov called to a see a flop of 6♠ T♠ 5♣ .

Tsui led out with 8,000 to be called by Litasov. Tsui checked the turn 6♦ allowing Litasov to fire 10,000 whichi Tsui called to keep the action alive.

Another check came from Tsui on the rivered 9♦ , with one of the bigger stacks in the field, Litasov shoved all-in. With only about 54,000 behind and in the last level of the day, Tsui took his time to consider his option. After much thought, Tsui put in his chips for a call slowly as if unsure of his decision.

With Tsui hitting the board and the board pairing Tsui got himself a two-pair while Litasov missed his flush draw. Litasov had to make a comment, however and said, "What were you thinking about? Snap-call!"

Maxim Sorokin limped in from the small blind and Justin Tsui checked from the big blind to take it into the streets.

On the flop of 6♣ K♣ K♦ , Sorokin bet 1,200 and Tsui called to see the 8♣ fall on the turn, where Sorokin bet 2,500 and Tsui stuck around again.

The river brought the 5♠ . Sorokin kept to his strategy and fired out a bet of 7,500 this time. This didn’t deter Tsui from making the call. Sorokin tabled 7♥ 5♣ for rivered two pair, but it was still not enough to win the hand as his opponent also flipped rivered two pair with Q♣ 5♥ , which shipped the pot Tsui's way.

Dylan Foster raised to 2,500 from middle position and Peng Chen called on the button.

Both read the flop of 3♦ J♥ A♦ and checked through to see the 5♠ fall on the turn, where Foster bet 3,500 and Chen made the call.

The 8♥ showed on the river, prompting a bet of 10,500 from Foster, which Chen snap-called. Foster flipped Q♠ 7♥ for a bluff and got cracked against Chen’s 4♣ 4♠ .

Van Dan Nguyen opend the cut-off with a bet of 2,500 to be called by Charles Pansoy on the button. Jia Han Lin, however, had other things in mind and decided to raise the heat by three-betting to 8,500. Both Nguyen and Pansoy called to see a flop.

The flop came down 3♦ T♥ 9♠ , and Lin led out with a bet of 7,500. Nguyen folded, but Pansoy applied pressure with a raise to 15,000. Lin gave him a perplexed look before making the call.

Both players checked the turn A♥ . Then, on the 2♠ river, Lin fired out 22,800. Pansoy separated 22,800 from his stack and considered his action, shuffling his chips thoughtfully. He then carefully set aside another 22,800, making it a raise to 45,600.

Lin went into the tank, visibly struggling to piece together what Pansoy might be holding. After a long pause, he reluctantly folded. Pansoy showed the T♦ and asked, "Two pair—good?" Lin stayed quiet, shaking his head.

Romit Advani raised too 2,500 from under the gun and Ilia Timofeev defended from the big blind.

Both saw a flop fill out Q♠ Q♥ 8♥ , bringing straight draw possibilities, and Timofeev check-called after Advani bet 2,000. The turn showed a 5♥ . The action went check-check.

A 2♦ dropped on the river, where Timofeev bet 3,000, forcing Advani to fold.

The action was picked up on the flop of A♣ J♠ 9♠ , bringing flush and straight possibilities, with around 9,000 chips in the middle. Khuc Hung bet 2,100 from the big blind and Vilcinskas Arvydas called from under the gun.

The 2♠ fell on the turn, and the action went check-check. The river carried out the K♦ , and Hung checked to Arvydas, who fired 7,000, forcing his opponent to fold.

Xin Tang raised to 2,500 from under thee gun and received calls from Kain An Chuang from the hijack, Nevan Chang on the button, and Shardul Parthasarathi from the big blind.

On a flop of 6♥ 4♥ 9♠ , Tang and Parthasarathi checked the action to Chang, who bet 5,000. Only Tang dropped in a call to see the Q♠ fall on the turn, where the action went check-check.

The 8♥ landed on the river, bringing up a bet of 6,000 from Tang and Chuang called to take it to a showdown. Tang tabled one pair with A♦ A♥ , and it was not enough to beat a flush from Chuang’s Q♥ J♥ .

Slaven Popov, in the hijack, opened for 2,200 and was called by Justin Tsui in the big blind, setting up a flop.

The flop came down J♥ 6♣ 9♥ . After Tsui checked, Popov continued with a 2,500 bet, which Tsui called.

The turn brought the 9♣ , and this time Tsui led out with a 4,800 bet, which Popov called.

On the river, the 3♦ fell, and Tsui made a sizable bet of 19,000 into the pot. Popov took some time to consider his options but ultimately decided to fold, allowing Tsui to scoop the pot.

Xin Tang went all in with his last 600 chips from under the gun and received five callers.

On the flop of J♦ 3♥ A♦ , the blinds check-folded after John Perry bet 2,000 from middle position, which only Ben Gur called from the hijack to see the 9♠ show on the turn, where Perry shoved all in for around 15,600 and Gur got out of the way.

Perry picked up the lead with flopped two pair, leaving Tang hopeless to win. The dealer quickly delivered the 5♣ on the river only to complete the board, showing Tang the way out of the field.

Action resumed with Ben Gur, in middle position, betting 10,000 on the turn and Jia Han Lin moving all-in for his tournament life. The board displayed 7♠ 3♠ 7♣ 9♥ .

Gur went deep into the tank, taking so long that Dhaval Mudgal eventually called time on him. Gur protested, but the tournament director reminded him he had only 30 seconds left to act. After 3 minutes and 30 seconds, Gur made the call.

Gur had trip sevens, but Lin’s full house—threes full of sevens—kept him in the lead. The river brought an inconsequential Q♠ , sealing Lin’s double-up and leaving Gur visibly frustrated.

On the very next hand, with only 6,000 remaining, Ben Gur open-jammed and was called by Hoang Tran Huy. The rest of the table folded, leaving the two to face off.

The board ran out 7♥ 2♥ T♠ Q♦ J♠ . Both players paired their queens on the turn, but Huy's ace kicker left Gur outkicked, resulting in his tournament exit in dismay.

Mikael Andersson opened the cutoff to 1,600 and Changyu Zhai called on the button.

On the flop of 8♦ 6♦ 7♦ , Andersson bet 5,000 and Zhai stuck around to see the Q♥ fall on the turn, where the action went check-check.

The river brought the 3♦ , and both decided to check to a free showdown. Andersson turned over a flush with A♦ J♣ , leaving Zhai no choice but to forfeit and return his cards to the dealer, showing the K♦ .

Ho Ip opened the hijack to 1,800 and received two callers, Thieu Xuan on the button and The Naing from the big blind.

Chengbin Deng opened the cutoff to 1,200 and was called by Quang Ngoc on the button and Injae Jeong from the big blind.

Three players saw the flop fill out T♣ 7♥ 4♥ and checked through to the 8♥ turn, where Jeong and Deng checked over. Ngoc then bet 1,700 and only Jeong dropped in a call.

The river carried out the J♠ , and Jeong checked to Ngoc, who then shoved all in, forcing his opponent to snap-fold.

Gab Yong Kim opened to 1,200 from under-the-gun, and Alexander Charron, seated directly to his left, three-bet to 4,000. William Teoh, in UTG+2, called the raise, and Kim also called when the action returned to him.

On the flop, both Kim and Charron checked, allowing Teoh to take the lead with a bet of 8,500. Kim responded with a raise to 20,000, which forced Charron to fold. Teoh then went all-in, and Kim called, putting his tournament life on the line.

Kim hit top pair on the flop, while Teoh had only mid-pair with his eight. The dealer completed the board with the turn 5♠ and river A♥ , securing Kim's lead and leaving Teoh with just 5 big blinds.

The action was picked up on the flop of 2♥ 6♥ 5♣ with around 15,000 chips in the middle when Pham Nghia from under the gun and Salven Popov from the hijack check-called after Litasov Vladimir bet 4,7000 from the cut-off.

After Pham Thanh Nghia checked the flop of 6♦ 7♣ 6♥ , Slaven Popov fired 3,800. Nghia alternately stared at the board and Popov. After some time, he raised to 8,600 which Popov called.

Both players checked the turn 7♦ but on the 2♠ Nghia tanked so long, Vladimir Litasov, who was on the table, had to call time on him. Before time ran out, Nghia, at risk, announced all-in and Popov snap-called.

Nghia caught trips on the flop which improved to a full house on the turn beating Popov's aces that only two-paired with the board. Popov remained unfazed as he gave Nghia some chips for a double up.

The action picked up with Kunal Patni all-in for his tournament life. Wai Cheung Ka was faced with a tough decision—calling would bring him back to his starting stack. After thinking it over, Ka ultimately made the call.

The board ran out 4♦ 7♣ T♦ 6♠ 2♥ , giving Patni a set of sevens on the flop. Ka’s decision to call Patni's shove, quickly turned into regret as Patni’s scooped the pot, keeping him alive in the tournament.

The action was picked up on the flop showing T♥ 3♠ 6♠ with around 3,000 chips in the middle when Jia Han Lin checked the action from the big blind to John Perry on the cutoff, who bet 1,300. Lin made the call.

The 7♥ came on the turn, and both checked it through to see the 3♥ hit on the river, where the action went check-check again.

Lin tabled one pair with K♣ 5♥ and failed to best two pair from Perry's 8♣ 8♦ .

Deepankur Gupta raised to 1,200 from under the gun and Yulin Li called from the small blind.

Wattana Luangsuwimon opened the cutoff to 1,500 and received three callers, Chun Kit Ho on the button, Pearce Shane from the small blind, and An Binh from the big blind.

The flop rolled off 5♦ 7♥ 6♥ , and this was followed by a string of checks until Ho bet 3,000. Only Binh dropped in a call to see the 9♣ come on the turn, where both checked through.

The Q♦ landed on the river, and the two quickly checked to a showdown. After Binh tabled T♠ 7♦ for a flopped pair of sevens, Ho threw his cards into the muck.

Hsuan-Cheng Lai raised to 1,200 from under the gun and received calls from Kunal Patni on the button and Ka Wai Cheung from the big blind.

Three players read a flop of Q♦ 9♥ A♠ , and Cheung checked the action to Lai, who bet 2,200. Only Cheung made the call to see a 7♥ land on the turn, where Cheung check-called again after Lai bet 4,500.

The river carried out the K♦ , and the action went check-check. Cheung quickly tabled a pair of queens with Q♥ 8♥ , but it still couldn’t rival a higher pair of aces from Lai’s A♥ J♥ .

The river carried out the 2♥ . Souprayenmestry and Li checked the action to Wang, who then bet 1,500. Only Souprayenmestry called. However, just when Souprayenmestry was going to turn over his cards, Wang returned his cards to the dealer without showing, leaving his opponent looking confused while collecting the pot.

Angunsri Suchart limped from under-the-gun and got a raise from Mikael Andersson. Vu Tuan Khanh Truong called from the button but after the blinds folded, Suchart, at risk, shoved all-in for 13,600. Andersson called and Truong got out of the way for a showdown.

Andersson gave a smile knowing he was ahead but needed to evade an ace on the board. The flop dropped 2♥ T♦ 6♠ which was a releif for Andersson. But the turn A♥ dashed his hopes as he knew his eights were beat. The T♠ river gave both players a two-pair with Suchart still winning the hand.

Vladimir Litasov raised to 800 from middle position, and Slaven Popov called after the action folded to him.

The flop came down A♥ Q♠ 7♣ , and Popov checked. Litasov followed up with a continuation bet of 500, which Popov called.

The turn brought the T♠ , and Popov checked again, giving Litasov the opportunity to shoot out 2,500. After some thought, Popov folded, and Litasov claimed the pot.

Ka Wai Cheung shoved all in for 11,700 from the small blind and Nicholas Shane went all in for 10,500.

Shane held the lead with pocket tens and received a straight draw on the 9♦ K♦ J♥ flop, leaving Cheung little chance to win. The dealer soon delivered a dry runout of 5♥ 4♦ , sealing a much-needed double up for Shane and crippling Cheung after this hand.

On the flop of 8♣ T♣ 3♥ , there were 3,300 chips in the middle when Tien Phi bet 12,500 from the small blind, and Hye Park shoved all in after tanking for a long time. Phi made the call to put Park at risk.

Park picked up the picked up the lead with pocket aces, and Phi received a straight draw. The 7♥ came on the turn, improving Phi to a pair but it was still not enough to win. The river brought a bricky 2♥ , leaving Phi drawing dead and no chance to end Park’s tournament life.

Slaven Popov opened for 800 from middle position. When the action folded to the small blind, Junqiang Lyu three-bet to 2,700. Popov responded with a re-raise to 8,700, prompting Lyu to shove all-in, risking his tournament life. Popov quickly called.

Seeing the pocket aces, Lyu was nearly resigned to his fate but watched as the dealer dealt the board: 6♦ Q♥ 8♦ 4♠ 2♠ . Popov’s aces held strong throughout, and Lyu was eliminated from the tournament.

With such a short stack, Pham Thanh Nghia shoved all-in in the big blind after Kai An Chuang completed in small blind. Chuang made the call.

Chuang paired his king with the flop of 5♠ 7♣ K♣ . The turn 6♠ gave Nghia a bit of hope as it gave him additional outs with a gutshot draw. But the T♣ maintained Chunag's lead, eliminating Nghia from the tournament.

Slaven Popov opened the action from middle position. Juyeol Lee, at risk and seated immediately to his left, shoved all-in for 16,100. Pham Thanh Nghia, in late position, called. A bit surprised by the turn of events, Popov ultimately folded his hand, leaving Lee and Nghia to face off.

The dealer flopped Q♥ 3♥ 5♦ , giving Lee middle pair while Nghia hit top pair, leaving Lee with slim chances of survival.

Resigned to his fate, Lee watched as the turn brought 2♠ , maintaining Nghia's lead. But the river, J♦ , unexpectedly gave Lee two pair, sparking an audible sigh of relief, keeping him in the tournament.

The action was picked up on the flop of 5♦ 3♦ 6♠ , bringing flush and straight draw possibilities, with 2,200 chips in the middle when Milos Skrbic bet 1,200 from middle position and Changyu Zhai called from the cutoff.

The 4♣ landed on the turn, and Skrbic checked the action to Zhai, who bet 3,000. Skrbic stuck around to see the K♣ show on the river, where the action went check-check.

Skrbic tabled a straight with pocket sevens, leaving Zhai to muck his hand and forfeit the pot.

The 3♦ hit on the turn, where Shane checked over again and Gupta fired 5,000, sending Shane into the tank. After over 1 minute, Shane open mucked his pocket sevens, and Gupta friendly showed an A♠ for a flopped pair.

Chi Ho Yeung opened from the cutoff with a raise to 500, only to face a three-bet from Pun Si Ng on the button to 2,800. Not backing down, Vladimir Litasov, sitting in the small blind, escalated the action with a four-bet to 7,000. When the action returned to Yeung, he flat-called, but Ng immediately five-bet to 17,800, keeping the pressure on.

At this point, Litasov ended the preflop betting war by shoving all-in. Yeung went into a deep tank, shifting his gaze between Litasov and Ng. After several moments, during which the dealer even clarified the players' approximate chip counts, Yeung ultimately decided to commit his stack, jamming all-in, putting Ng in a tough spot. After a moment’s hesitation, Ng folded, leaving Yeung and Litasov heads-up for the pot.

Yeung needed an ace or a king to survive. The flop, however, came 2♠ 4♠ 4♦ , missing his overcards. With two cards left, Yeung silently hoped for help, but the turn brought the 6♣ and the river the T♥ . Litasov’s queens held up, sending Yeung to the rail in a dramatic showdown.

Deepankur Gupta raised to 500 from under the gun, and Bui Anh three-bet to 1,800. Gupta made the call.

On the flop of 7♠ J♦ 5♥ , Anh bet 2,800 and Gupta snap-called to see the 9♣ hit on the turn, where the action went check-check.

An A♦ delivered on the river, and Anh bet 4,900. However, this didn’t deter Gupta from shoving all-in for 33,500, sending Anh into the tank. After some time, Anh threw his cards into the muck. Gupta was friendly enough to show the 8♦ as he collected the pot. Anh asked, 'Eight-ten?' Gupta just smiled.

Li Ma opened the button to 500 and received two callers from the blinds, Hong Wei and Li Ma.

Three players read a flop of 6♥ J♣ J♥ and checked through to see the 8♥ land on the turn, which they all checked.

The river brought a 2♦ . They kept the pace and checked to a free showdown. Wei tabled K♦ 5♦ , Truong mucked his cards, and Ma flipped K♠ T♥ , which collected the pot for as her kicker ten held.

Action resumed on the turn with Nikolai Babushkin, in early position, betting 4,500 on a board of 4♣ 3♠ J♠ 5♥ . Victor Daccach went into the tank, deliberating his next move before finally calling.

The river brought the T♣ , and Babushkin bet 5,900. Daccach made the call, only to muck his hand after Babushkin revealed Q♣ Q♠ , securing the pot.

Lee limped in from the hijack, and Zhuoqun Zhang three-bet to 2,500 on the button. Lee called.

On the flop of 2♠ 2♣ 3♥ , Lee checked the action to Zhang, who bet 2,500. Lee stuck around.

The 5♥ came on the turn, and the action went check-check. An A♠ dropped on the river, Lee checked over again, however, Zhang fired out 11,000, leaving his opponent no choice but to muck his hand.

Jean Souprayenmestry opened under-the-gun with a bet of 400, and Nikolai Babushkin responded with a re-raise to 1,600. Souprayenmestry called, taking them to a flop of T♠ Q♠ 6♥.

Souprayenmestry checked, and Babushkin fired a continuation bet of 1,300. Souprayenmestry called once more. Both players then checked the 2♠ turn.

On the river, A♥ , Souprayenmestry led out with a bold 3,000, putting Babushkin into a deep thought. After a while, Babushkin declared a fold but held onto his cards, asking, "If I show, will you show?" Unfazed, Souprayenmestry smiled and replied, "If you pay me, I’ll show."

Maxim Sorokin opened to 500 from the cutoff and Yuriy Kim three-bet to 1,600 on the button, which only Favre dropped in a call.

On the flop of 6♠ 5♠ 7♦ , bringing flush and straight possibilities, Favre checked it to Kim, who bet 1,500, which Favre put in a raise to 4,500. However, Kim three-bet to 10,000, sending Favre into the tank. After a long time, Favre fired a four-bet to 25,000. With so many chips in the middle, Kim reluctantly sent his cards back to the dealer.

Andrew Ong opened the button to 300 and Changyu Zhai called from the big blind.

On the flop of T♣ 5♠ 5♣ , Zhai check-called after Ong bet 300. The 4♣ dropped on the turn, and the action went check-check.

A K♦ delivered on the river, and both players decided to check to a free showdown. Ong tabled ace-high with A♠ 3♣, which was not enough against the pocket jacks from Zhai.

Cutinha Nicholas Shane opened from the button with a bet of 300, called by both blinds—Jian Yu Chen in the small blind and Alan Turabayev in the big blind.

The flop, 4♦ K♥ 4♣ , was checked by both blinds, giving Shane the chance to fire a continuation bet of 500. Chen called, while Turabayev folded, setting up a heads-up pot.

On the 5♠ turn, both players checked. Chen then checked again on the A♣ river, prompting Shane to bet 1,200, which was enough to make Chen fold.

Vilcinskas Arvydas opened the button to 300 and received two callers, Kai An Chung from the small blinds and Daccach Victor from the big blind.

Three player saw a flop roll off K♥ Q♦ 2♦ and checked through to the 5♦ turn, which Chuang checked over, and Victor bet 500. Only Arvydas dropped in a call.

The river brought the J♠ , where Victor checked it to Arvydas, who bet 3,000. Victor snap-called. Arvydas quickly turned over a straight with T♠ 9♦ to best Victor’s rivered pair of jacks with his jack-three.

Action picked up on the turn with Kim Yuriy on the button, waiting for Alan Turabayev, in the small blind, to act after he bet 15,000. Turabayev eventually called. The board showed 3♦ J♦ 9♥ A♥ .

On the river, 5♠ , Turabayev checked again. Yuriy put his tournament life on the line, moving all-in. Turabayev carefully considered his move, especially given that it was the tournament’s first level, but ultimately decided to muck his hand.

Bui Anh opened the hijack to 300 and received two callers, Hong Wei from the small blind and Alan Turabayev from the big blind.

Three players read a flop of T♥ 7♠ 7♣ , and the blinds checked the action to Ahn, who bet 300. Only Turabayev called.

The 5♣ landed on the turn, where Turabayev check-called after Anh bet 500. The river showed J♠ , and Turabayev checked the action to his opponent. Anh bet 2,000 only to face a raise to 6,500 from Turabayev. Ahn quickly tossed his cards into the muck.

Alexander Charron opened under-the-gun to 300. Everybody folded to the small blind, Liu Jun, who three-bet to 1,300 which Charron called.

The flop dropped 8♠ 7♠ 9♦ which both players checked. The 6♣ was checked on the turn by Jun allowing Charron to bet 1,500. Jun called.

Jun led with 1,500 on the river 9♠ which Charron called. Jun showed K♥ K♣ and Charron flipped over the winning hand K♦ T♠ for a straight on the turn.

Alexander Charron limped in from under the gun, and Quang Ngoc three-bet to 400 on the cutoff and received three callers, Liu Jun on the button, Jean Souprayenmestry from the small blind, and Ilia Timofeev from the big blind.

All players read the flop of T♠ A♣ J♦ , and this was followed by a string of checks until Ngoc, who bet 700. Only Souprayenmestry dropped in a call this time. The 5♠ hit on the turn, and Souprayenmestry check-called after Ngoc bet 1,800.

The river brought the 4♣ . The action went check-check. Souprayenmestry tabled ace-high with Q♠ 9♠ , but it was no match for a flopped pair of tens with Ngoc’s Q♦ T♣ .

The excitement is building as we kick off this morning’s session with the first opening flight of VND 36,000,000 APT Main Event, with a substantial guaranteed prize pool of VND 25,000,000,000.

Play gets underway at 11:00 am local time. Hopefuls start off with 40,000 in chips and play through ten 60-minute levels. The blinds begin at 100/100, with a 100 big blind ante. A 15-minute break will take place after every two levels, with a 75-minute dinner break scheduled after Level 6 (around 5:30 pm local time). Registration remains open until 11:00 pm local time.
