Sturm known by his on-line Poker persona “RUMUKULUS”, blipped into the live events radar in July 2022 at the World Poker Tour Venetian Deepstack Championship Series, when he finished fourth, cashing $327,000. The Poker wunderkind continued his success on the live felt in 2023, beginning with a deep run at 2023 Lucky Hearts Poker Open $25,500 High Roller for $83,100. The young German would also be one of only 5 poker players under the age of 25 to play in the €25K High Roller at the European Poker Tour Monte Carlo. In June, Strum made his  mark in the game, clinching his first ever gold bracelet after winning the $50,000 High Roller Event at the 54th World Series of Poker Las Vegas for the biggest payday of his career at $ 1,546,024. The German bested live high-stakes poker players in the world like Alex Foxen and Seth Davies en route to his bracelet win at the young age of 22.

Later in the year Sturm notched a series of deep runs at other high stakes tournaments like the Aria High Roller Series Las Vegas and the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in London and Monte Carlo banking five and six-figure pay-offs. In the Triton Series alone, Sturm earned 7 cashes amounting to $ 1,437,000, two of them coming in 2024.

Another major achievement for Leon Sturm would come at the World Series of Poker Paradise when he would clinch 3rd place at the Ultra High Roller Bracelet Event, banking his second-best live cash of $ 1,322,000.
