My journey in the world of poker (and later casino, sportsbetting) started more than 20 years ago, when I first attended a low-stakes live tournament. I’ve never looked back since, and have been active in several fields, including being a poker player, a live tournament director, writing online and offline articles about poker, and managing the localization of one of the world's largest online poker rooms. Poker is my home ground, I could never imagine doing a job that is not a part of it. I hope someday I’ll have more time to play live; that's something I've missed in the past few years. A game where luck meets skill - what would be more interesting?

WSOP 2026 – Moment of the Day

Let’s see what qualified as an interesting, shocking, amusing, entertaining, or stunning Moment of the Day on 6 June 2026 at the WSOP .

Everyone loves a nice, friendly family pot in a home game, but this was another kind of family pot, as Kristen Foxen and her husband, Alex Foxen , got heads-up in a hand at the $25,000 event. Since both of them are professional poker players, this might not be the first or last time they face each other at a tournament. After some poker action on the turn and the river, Kristen asked if he would show one if she folded, and Alex slid his cards over.

For poker-playing couples at a nice Saturday evening in a friendly game, it would have been a usual situation, and the little sneak peek might have gone unnoticed. But in front of the cameras, we all could see as she turned one up… then couldn’t resist looking at the other.

Alex immediately called for the floor as any loving husband would. It was obviously a joke from his side, and this little intermezzo hasn’t disturbed the flow of the game.

It is much more likely a couple gets seated at the same table in a high roller event, tho. At the WSOP 2025, the $25,000 NLHE event had 392 entries, while the $300 Gladiators of Poker had 24,629 entries.

We had been discussing the situation of professional poker player couples, but what if there is a whole dynasty sitting at the felt? Michael Mizrachi earned our virtual prize for the top comment under this video with the following:

Be careful, if you get to the same table as your significant other – or any family member – it can turn into a serious fight. This time, both had fun, but it could easily have gone the other way. If you play in any of the online poker rooms we recommend, your chances of such an encounter are significantly lower. Pick one site, hone your skills, have fun, and don’t forget to enter SMPBONUS for all the benefits!
