WSOP 2026 Day 27 Recap: Simao Wins $50K PLO as Mizrachi Busts PPC and Glantz Leads Field
Day 27 of the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas was one of the quieter days of the series in terms of volume, but the quality was anything but lacking - one bracelet was awarded and the $50,000 Poker Players Championship got underway with a field loaded with superstars.
Event #55: $50,000 PLO High Roller - Winner

Joao Simao claimed his fourth bracelet by winning the $50,000 PLO High Roller for $1,368,700, defeating Santhosh Suvarna heads-up. Suvarna, who had already won the $50,000 NLHE High Roller earlier this series, banked $912,940 for runner-up.
Event #60: $50,000 Poker Players Championship - Day 1

Michael Mizrachi , chasing a record fifth PPC title, was eliminated during the final level of Day 1 after running into trouble in a Razz hand against Chino Rheem and then losing the rest of his chips to Brad Ruben. Matt Glantz (989,000) leads the 87-entry field into Day 2, with Benny Glaser (826,000) second. Josh Arieh (652,500), Jesse Lonis (643,500), Jason Mercier (499,500), Gus Hansen (401,500), Eli Elezra (325,000), Brian Rast (276,000), and Daniel Negreanu (247,000) are all through. Day 2 begins at 1:00 p.m. on June 22 with late registration open until approximately 7:30 p.m.

Italy’s Alessio Isaia (2,200,000) leads the final 12 into the last day, chasing a first bracelet. Nick Pupillo (1,745,000) and Horacio Chaves (1,685,000) are the nearest challengers. The winner earns $161,313. The final day begins at 1:00 p.m. on June 22.
Event #50: $1,500 Millionaire Maker - Day 2d
Day 2d cut 1,228 players to 164, led by Jamhour Qasem (2,830,000). Notable survivors include Harrison Gimbel (880,000) and Eugene Katchalov (680,000). All 424 combined survivors return for Day 3 at 11:00 a.m. on June 22.
Event #57: $1,000 PLO - Day 1b

Day 1b drew 1,235 entries, with Stephen Hubbard (550,000) among the notable survivors alongside David Prociak (497,000) and Jeff Madsen (421,000). Day 1c fires at noon on June 22.
Event #59: $500 Salute to Warriors - Day 1
A field of 4,478 raised almost $180,000 for veteran charities, with 672 players advancing. Adam Brody (1,540,000) leads. The 2006 WSOP Main Event champion Jamie Gold (860,000) is also through. Day 2 begins at noon on June 22.
What’s Coming on Day 28 of WSOP 2026
Seven events on June 22. The Millionaire Maker Day 3 combines 424 players at 11:00 a.m. The $1,500 Triple Draw crowns its champion at 1:00 p.m. alongside Day 2 of the $50,000 Poker Players Championship. Two new events debut: Event #61: $1,000 Super Seniors (10:00 a.m.) and Event #62: $2,500 No-Limit Hold’em (2:00 p.m.).
