Lester Edoc Towers Over GOP Main Event Field Heading Into Day 2
All five starting flights of the Gods of Poker (GOP) Incheon Main Event have now wrapped up at Paradise City Casino , with a total of 356 entries generated across the KRW 2,200,000 (~USD 1,500) buy-in headline tournament.
Flight D produced the biggest turnout with 122 entries, while the turbo-format Flight E added another 99 runners as players rushed in for one final shot at the guaranteed KRW 700,000,000 (~USD 480,000) prize pool and the festival’s prestigious Black-and-Gold Gauntlet trophy.
By the time all bags were sealed, just 51 players remained standing. Every returning player is now guaranteed a minimum payout of KRW 3,840,000, while the eventual champion will walk away with KRW 148,280,000 (~USD 98,000) and the most coveted trophy of the series.
Lester Edoc Bags Monster Chip Lead

Lester Edoc has been one of the undeniable stars of GOP Incheon, and now the Filipino pro enters Day 2 of the Main Event with the overall chip lead after finishing Flight E with a towering 2,990,000 chips.
The stack gives Edoc an incredible 249 big blinds when play resumes, placing him far ahead of the rest of the field as the tournament moves into the money stages.
Edoc’s series has already included a third-place finish in the GOP Olympians, a victory in the Super High Roller for the coveted Gold Gauntlet, another High Roller title later in the festival, and now a serious run at the Main Event crown.
The Flight E run was classic Edoc. He applied relentless pressure throughout the day, repeatedly attacking shorter stacks and controlling the pace once the bubble approached. Although he did pay off a double-up to Kohei Suzuki, who woke up with pocket aces, Edoc quickly recovered before eliminating Masatoshi Akasaka on the bubble to officially seal the flight.
Sascha Manns Leads Flight D
Before Edoc’s late-night surge in Flight E, Germany’s Sascha Manns briefly held the overall chip lead after dominating Flight D with 2,030,000 chips.
Manns still enters Day 2 with one of the biggest stacks in the room and an extremely playable 169 big blinds, making him one of the most dangerous players remaining in the hunt for the Black-and-Gold Gauntlet.
With the structure resuming at blinds of just 6,000-12,000, even the shorter stacks will still have room to maneuver as the race toward the final table officially begins.
Main Event Day 2 Set as 51 Players Return

The remaining players return on Friday, May 22 at 12:30 p.m. local time, where the Main Event will officially move into the money stages.
Players can expect deep play throughout the day thanks to the slow structure, with featured table coverage and multilingual commentary also streaming live on the GOP YouTube channel.
