The poker world is buzzing with the recent release of the World Poker Tour Prime Cambodia Season XXI schedule. With the upcoming festival just a month and a half away, players are already planning their trip. Here are some of Asia’s best expressing their enthusiasm.
David Erquiaga, Season XXI WPT Prime Cambodia Main Event champion,
“WPT now offers a project for content creators so I am excited since it is the first time. I plan to produce content before, during, and after the event. Also, I am looking forward to the event itself. The turnout last year was great so expecting it to be the same this year.”
Justin Chu, Season XXI WPT Prime Cambodia Main Event runner-up,
“What excites me is that I’ll get to compete with all the top pros around the world and I am looking forward to hopefully making another main event FT and finish what I didn’t finish off last time.”
Zarvan Tumboli, Season XXI WPT Prime Vietnam Main Event champion,
“Playing a prestigious series like WPT is always exciting. Cambodia is a nice venue and I enjoy playing at NagaWorld. I look forward to grabbing another WPT Main Event title.”
Marc Inizan, Season XXi WPT Prime Taiwan Main Event champion,
“I am looking forward to playing the bounty tournaments. I haven’t had a chance to play many of them live so I’m excited about it. Also, I love to travel. This will be my first visit to Cambodia. It’s always a really good feeling to be in a new place and explore the local culture, food, architecture, etc..”
Chien Chih Weng, one of the Asia’s up and coming young female players and WPT Prime Taiwan Dice Championship winner,
“I am going to WPT Prime Paris and I’ll likely go to Cambodia too. I hope to be in the best state so I can run good. Also I am looking forward to back-to-back Dice Championship titles.”
Victor Chong, partner with the Asian Poker Tour and three-time WPT Prime Cambodia side event champion,
“I won three events in Cambodia over three series so I am excited to be there.”
Chan Lok Ming, WSOP bracelet winner,
“I am most excited to compete against pros from many different countries. I will use it as preparation before returning to the WSOP. I am looking forward to shipping something during the series and bringing home a trophy.”
Minh Anh Nguyen, Poker Dream Vietnam Main Event champion,
“WPT is a good brand name around the world and very much so in Asia. They’ve proven their success in various events in the past. WPT Hanoi in 2022 broke the Vietnamese record for the largest buy-in event. WPT Cambodia also broke the 1 million USD prize pool for the Main event. I attended both events in the past and I will be there this March. Last time, I secured myself a very nice looking WPT trophy from one of the side events, this time I am definitely aiming for the big one!”
Vietnamese pro Harry Duong,
“I am planning to be there as WPT always produces great events and has one of the best structures in Asia. Hopefully I win the Main Event trophy. The cash games are great during my spare time. And Danny, he adds some entertaining events for players.”
WPT Prime Cambodia
The World Poker Tour is one of the world’s leading poker operators, and in 2013, the brand made its mark in Asia. In 2019, the WPT held its first event in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The Main Event drew 1,050 entries for a prize pool of US$ 1,018,500. It was the largest and wealthiest WPT Asia open event in history.
Coming March 9 to 21, 2023, the brand returns for another WPT Prime Cambodia festival at the NagaWorld Integrated Resort Complex in Phnom Penh. The schedule has grown to a whopping 30 trophy events with a rich US$ 1,000,000 spicing it up.
