2021 WSOP Online [International]: Lucio Lima wins first bracelet at the Superstack Turbo Bounty; Anson Tsang finishes runner up

The 2021 World Series of Poker Online [International] is in full swing at Natural8 [GG Network] with 9 out of the 33 coveted bracelets on offer now claimed. Locking up his first ever WSOP title and bracelet was Brazil’s Lucio “WizardOfAz” Lima at the Superstack Turbo Bounty NLH, outlasting a field of 2,229 entries. Natural8 player / Hong Kong pro Yan Shing “Anson” Tsang took second place, just missing a career third bracelet. Also running well was Russia’s Stanislav Kuvaev who became the first player to reach two final tables. With this win, Brazil gained its fourth gold this series. WSOP #9: $525 Superstack Turbo Bounty NLH – Lucio “WizardOfAz” Lima – US$ 91,204

The hunt for the ninth bracelet drew 2,229 entries to the $525 Superstack Turbo Bounty NLH for a seven figure prize pool of US$ 1,114,500. After 8.5 hours of play, Lucio “WizardOfAz” Lima was the last man standing, defeating double bracelet winner Yan Shing “Anson” Tsang at heads up to seize his first ever WSOP gold bracelet and the US$ 45,796 first prize. Lima also collected US$ 45,408 in bounty rewards for a combined US$ 91,204 in winnings. Based on his tracked online results this was Lima’s largest career score, topping the US$ 87,426 he shipped at the WSOP Online $365 Sunday GIANT side event just days prior.

Lima’s road to victory was no easy climb. At three tables remaining, he was down to just 7 bb after losing a three way. He recovered with a triple up on his next shove holding set against two players with overcards. Down to 12 players, Lima piled in more chips. He pushed his straight on a board that awarded him all of Andorra’s “Im44bet” chips after being tank-called with top pair. Lima entered the final tableranked fourth.

For the first time in this series, it was an all international final table with not one player hailing from the same place. Among them were 2x bracelet winner Hong Kong pro Tsang and bracelet winner USA’s William “BigCharles” Romaine. Russia’s Stanislav Kuvaev (8th place at the Limit Hold’em Championship) was also in the lineup, becoming the first player to reach two final tables, and bringing in the most bounties was Poland’s Krzysztof “ZryjGruz” Dulowski. Tsang was riding high up top having shipped a double up just before the table was formed with trips aces against Romaine’s two pair.

The final table ran for nearly two hours with action dominated by Dulowski, Lima, and in the later stages, Tsang, with each one taking turns as chip leader. Dulowski delivered the first bust with trips jacks cracking Romaine’s pocket Kings. This evened him up with Tsang until Lima railed Japan’s Daisuke “REDJOE” Ogita (8th) to take point for the first time.

Next showdown, Kuvaev enjoyed a triple up to climb out from the bottom, then sent Norway’s Yngve Hella “IAMWILLIAM” Steen (7th) packing with pocket Aces over pocket Sevens. However, Kuvaev’s rush was short lived. Dulowski shaved off a big portion with A7o improving to trips aces to dust pocket Kings.

Lima went on to claim a second victim after scalping Uruguay’s Joaquin Melogno in 6th place. Lima pushed top pair on a board , Melogno tank-called with . Up until this time, Tsang’s stack was only southbound until a double up off Lima with pocket Queens dominating pocket Threes revived him. Dulowski finished off Kuvaev (5th) and Jonathan “Resolve” French (4th) to bring the table down to three players.

Tsang came out very aggressive, pressuring his opponents with heavy three bets and four bets. This led to Lima dropping in chips which he then shoved with that held against Dulowski’s overcards. Plunging to 10 bb, Dulowski risked it all with but bricked against Tsang’s to bring about heads up. Tsang was ahead 54 bb to Lima’s 38 bb.

The more experienced Tsang quickly went to work, widening his lead to over 3:1 when Lima scored a lucky double up with trips jacks over on a board . This brought them back to par. From there, the lead exchanged multiple times. Still roughly even, the final hand arrived. Lima shoved , Tsang risked it with , the board ran for a set of threes to the Brazilian to capture the gold.
