WPT Cambodia Championship ($3,500)

The raise of Adrien Berger is called by both players in the blinds including Supakit Anukoolpitaknil and Somashekar Nahadeva, after which Berger asks "can I see your stack" to Nahadeva.

On the K♣ 8♣ 7♣ flop, Nahadeva is the only one to check-call a bet of 40,000 by Berger and then jams his short stack on the K♦ turn.

Berger calls and asks "flush?" but Nahadeva only has the A♠ Q♣ for the flush draw with the queen. Berger's K♥ J♥ fade another club as the 9♥ river sends Nahadeva to the rail during the final hands of the evening.

Peteris Enders raises to 55,000 and then calls a three-bet to 175,000 by Dominik Nitsche in the next seat. Following a T♦ 5♦ 3♦ flop, Enders instantly check-calls a bet worth 100,000 and then leads the K♦ turn for 135,000.

Nitsche uses one time bank to call and Enders checks the 6♦ on the river. Nitsche bets, Enders snap-calls and wins the pot with K♣ Q♦ for the flush with the queen. Nitsche flashes ace-jack with the J♦ .

"I should have gone all-in preflop," Paul Hoefer sighs when he bet-folds the river for nearly half his stack and is left on fewer than 20 big blinds. He then adds it was a three-bet pot on which the board shows A♦ 9♦ 3♥ T♣ K♠ . Hoefer bets 190,000 and Sho Homma jams to force a fold from his table neighbour, with Homma exposing the Q♠ .

In the next hand, Jhon Hendri jams for 171,000 and Homma calls with the 7♠ 7♥. Hendri laughs as he exposes the dominated 2♥ 2♣ , which fails to improve on the Q♦ T♦ 4♦ 4♥ 3♥ board.

Four players contribute 24,000 preflop proceed to check down the board 3♥ 3♠ 8♠ K♥ Q♣ . Adrien Berger is first to show 6♦ 6♠ , Supakit Anukoolpitaknil has better Q♦ 7♦ and wins the pot as the rest fold.

On a board of A♣ 3♦ K♠ Q♥ J♥ , a big pot is in the middle and Adrien Berger tanks for two time banks before betting. Jhon Hendri does the same then shoves. Berger snap-calls and both have a ten card for the straight to split the pot. Bert Perry comments, "you won't get those time banks back guys". Hendri has 4 left and Berger has 6.

Jhon Hendri's open from under the gun finds two callers, hijack Adrien Berger and big blind defender Jiaxian Pan. At the flop 4♠ 4♥ Q♠, Hendri continues for 30,000 to lose Pan while Berger calls then both check the turn 5♣ . Hendri checks again on the river K♥ , Berger takes charge for 110,000 and wins the pot.

There is some uproar on table nine as a large pot unfolds between Yunsheng Sun and Dylan DeStefano. With some 175,000 in the middle to the Q♦ 8♣ 6♣ flop, DeStefano is all-in and at risk for 278,000 with the K♣ K♦ .

Sun has him barely covered and reveals the A♣ J♣ for the nut flush. Instead, Sun spikes the A♦ on the turn to take the lead and leave DeStefano on the verge of elimination very close to the money bubble.

One more twist to the story is to follow, as the river brings the K♥ and that is also the reason for the uproar.

Dylan Destefano from cutoff makes it 12,000 only to get popped by small blind Adrien Berger to 48,000. Destefano wants to continue and calls. When the flop runs 7♥ A♣ T♠ , Berger fires 25,000, Destefano calls, and the turn is 6♥ . Berger barrels for a third time for 75,000 and this time, Destefano let's go of his hand.

Kou Vang opens 11,000, Thomas Boivin makes it 25,000, then cutoff Adrien Berger drives it up to 52,000. After a bit of tanking, Vang folds and Boivin follows behind.

Adrien Berger opens the action with a raise to 8,000 and Rudolf Fourie jams for 63,500 behind. It folds back to Berger and the big stack opts to call, albeit with some hesitation.

The K♠ 6♣ 3♠ Q♠ 4♠ board improves Berger to the flush with his dominated pair, sending Fourie to the rail in cruel fashion.

"You folded a monster?" Adrien Berger asks Yuhan Liu while raking in a big pot. He sends Damir Zhugralin to the rail when his A♣ A♦ holds up against the A♥ K♦ of Zhugralin on the 9♦ 6♥ 2♥ 2♦ J♠ board and that may very well send Berger to the top of the leaderboard in the opening stages of Day 2.

There were 750 entries in the WPT Cambodia Championship, but only 242 have made it to Day 2, where we expect to burst the Money Bubble.

There were 347 entries on Day 1A of the WPT Cambodia Championship, and on the final hand of the night, Joshua Gebissa knocked out Daniel Neilson to catapult into the chip lead with 571,000.

There were 109 survivors from this flight, and the full list of official chip counts will be released later tonight. In the meantime, here is a preview of the top of the leaderboard:

Day 1B begins tomorrow (Thursday) at 11:30 am, and registration remains open with unlimited re-entries until the start of Level 10 (around 9:45 pm).

Last year's runner-up Joshua McCully from Australia entered not long ago and has not been able yet to run up a profit. He is involved in a heads-up pot with Adrien Berger right now and bets the J♠ 7♠ 4♠ flop for 2,000. Berger check-raises to6,000 and forces out the Aussie.

Also on the table are Peter Kiem, John "Bert" Perry, Kou Vang and Aliaksandr Shylko.

Three ways to the 9♥ 6♠ 5♥ K♣ turn, the action checks to Adrien Berger and he bets 3,600. Amit Kaushik is the only one to call and checks the T♠ on the river. Berger now bets 14,000 and Kaushik reluctantly calls for the French player to show A♣ Q♥

Kaushik has that beat with the K♦ 7♠ to win the pot with top pair.
