Yun Chen How Biggest Stack of Day1B Final 9

Won Poker Cup Main Event #2 Day1B started late but ended early with Yun Chen How bagging 269,000 chips on top of the 9 remaining players moving into Day 2.


The day had a total of 58 entries and at the start of level 13, organizers decided to end the day once 1 player busts out. A all the remaining players all wanted to make it to Day 2, players started tightening up with action slowing down significantly. Short-stacked players like Kevin JR took advantage of the situation but continuously jamming all-in when he could. Eventually though, Anshu Zheng who was starting to get impatient, called him to finally end the second flight of Day 1 of the the Main Event.

JR Finally Gets a Caller and Ends Day1B

We come to the table with Kevin JR jamming all-in at the button after a raise from Anshu Zheng. A usual, everyone got out of the way except for initial raiser Zheng who decided to make the call.


JR showed 6 6 against Zheng's A Q. Community Cards showed 3 4 Q 2. A the river card displayed J, Zheng gave a cheer of joy, the other remaining players all gave a sigh of relief and the Asst. TD Jay barked the order, "Start bagging your chips!"


JR left the tournament and Day1B was at an end.

Anshu Zheng and Edison asked the Tournament Director something in Chinese which we couldn't understand. TD answered in English, "1 hour more to reach to end at Level 15 to end the day." Zheng gave a disgusted look at this as Edison just laughed.

Just prior to the hand, Matteo Brunelli offered Mr Gan a gin and tonic he ordered as a sign of poker friendship. But when it comes to tournament survival, gin and tonic were forgotten for an all-in heads-up action between poker friends.


In midposition, Mr. Gan raised the pot to 3,500 and Brunelli at hijack jammed his stack all-in for 26,000. Mr Gan made the call to show A 8 against Brunelli's 9 9.

Reaching the table we found Anshu Zheng, Kitsamon Srathongkdew, Jung Kyang Jin and Nick Woodward in a 4 way all-in in the biggest pot of the day so far. Players held the following:

Jin: A Q


Zheng let out a shout of delight when window cards showed 3 T 5. Srathongkdew, although hoping to get a one outer, was content on winning the side pot. Turn was a 4 and the river showed K.


Zheng celebrated his huge win, while Srathongkdew was motioning for the side pot to be given just happy to be alive. Jin's stack had been crippled by the hand and Woodward walked out the door.

Direly needing chips, AQ from small blind raised 2,400. Dao Minh Phu beside him won't have it and 3-bet to 6,800.


AQ jammed his remaining stack of 17,000 the moment he saw the flop of 6 3 9, and Phu called without hesitation. Tabling their hands, Phu showed A Q while AQ flipped over 9 2. Turn and river displayed 7 2 giving AQ a two-pair for the win.

Hands folded to late position, Wee Leng Seng raised to 1,300. Anshu Zheng in small blind and Seo Pyungsik at big blind called.


The dealer flopped Q T J. Both Zheng and Pyungsik decided to let Seng lead which he did by betting 1,100 to the pot. Zheng folded but Pyungsik came along for the ride to see what next. And T for the turn was what came about. Pyungsik continued to take a backseat in the betting to allow Seng to put 3,600 more to the pot which he called. River showed an unexciting 2. Anshu Zheng raised to 900 after Kitsamon Srathongkdew floated the blinds. The blinds folded and Srathongkdew, cool and relaxed, made the call.


Flop came down Q 7 5. The only lady in the field checked to the gentleman who fired 1,200. Srathongkdew calmly called.


The turn came 9. This time Srathongkdew led with 2,000. Zheng stared at Srathongkdew trying to read her calm expression and raised to 9000 which Srathongkdew snap called. The river showed 6 and Srathongkdew shot 20,000 into the pot. Zheng tanked and gave a time card. He finally made the call to find 8 6 tabled by Srathongkdew.


Shaking his head, Zheng said "I had a set on the flop."

Turn saw another A which Jin bet into with 1,200. Yew raised the pot to 2,500 to be called by the bettor. River revealed a 3 which Jin checked to Yew who fired 5,000. After considering his action for a few seconds, Jin folded his hand.

The turn was A to which both players checked. Then the river showed A. Sungjak being proactive bet 2,000 at the river which earned an immediate fold from JR.
