Moments after Mayuko Takata had lost her last couple of big blinds, a far bigger pot unfolded one table over. On the A♥ 8♦ 7♦ 7♥ turn, Yoonseok Choi bet 20,000 in the small blind. Dongmin Kim then jammed for 42,500 on the button and Choi reluctantly called.

Kim's K♥ 4♥ needed another heart as Choi was ahead with the A♣ 2♣ . Instead, the river brought the A♠ and that sent Kim to the rail, too.

Following an open raise to 500 and one caller, Mayuko Takata defended her big blind. She check-called a bet of 700 on the K♣ 9♣ 4♦ flop and another 600 on the 8♠ turn. Takata checked the 4♠ on the river and her two opponents checked behind. She showed T♣ 6♣ for a missed straight and flush draw, which is beaten by the initial raiser's J♠ 8♣ .
