Marvin Cerbito was just crowned as the Manila Megastack 24 Main Event champion after defeating Gleb Ershov in a quick heads-up duel.

Cerbito was the last one with all the chips from a total of 848 entries, taking home the PokerStars shard, the top prize of PHP 5,750,000 and an APPT Manila Championship package worth 210,000 which includes a Main Event seat and some nights in Okada Manila.

Manila Megastack Day 2: PHP 33M Prize Pool, One Champion Awaits

Day 2 of the Manila Megastack 24 Main Event takes place today at the world-class Okada Manila. After three days and four starting flights, the tournament has drawn a massive 848 entries, smashing the initial guarantee.

With a buy-in of PHP 45,000 (~USD 770) and a PHP 20,000,000 (~USD 342,000) guarantee, the prize pool climbed to an impressive PHP 33,313,680 (~USD 578,670).

Only 127 players remain in contention and will return today to chase the biggest share of the prize pool, along with the PHP 5,750,000 (~USD 99,880) top prize.

In addition to the cash prize, several APPT packages will be awarded. The champion will receive an APPT Championship Package valued at PHP 210,000, which will be deducted from the prize pool. The 2nd and 3rd finishers will each receive an APPT Manila 2026 Package worth PHP 150,000, also deducted from the prize pool. Meanwhile, players finishing 4th to 9th will each earn an APPT Manila 2026 Super Qualifier Seat valued at PHP 9,000.

Ziqiang Shi - Main Event Day 2 Chip Leader

Leading the returning field is Ziqiang Shi with 753,000 (126 big blinds). Shi topped the Day 1C flight, which drew the largest turnout of the tournament with 316 entries.

The remaining field features a strong mix of local regulars and international players. Among them is defending champion Edilberto Gopez, who captured the Manila Megastack 23 Main Event title last year after a dominant run. Gopez also finished as the Day 1A chip leader and returns today with 438,000 chips.

Also in the hunt is Justin Ong, who enjoyed a standout performance at APPT Manila 2025, winning both the Main Event and the PokerStars Red Dragon. Ong brings 317,000 into Day 2.

Another notable contender is Minwoong Jeong, winner of the APPT Championship 2025, who bagged 401,000. Meanwhile, Leo Kamiya, who secured back-to-back APPT Open titles at APPT Manila 2025 and APPT Championship 2025, is also among the remaining players.
