Since late in Day 2, Youngtaek Lim couldn't catch a break against Justin Ong to lose the lead he had for most of the day. Today, after Ong stole a pot on a bluff, they met again and still Ong prevailed to knock him out in 14th place.
The hand opened with a raise from Lim at cutoff that Ong three-bet 400,000 from the big blind, Lim flatted. When the board ran 8♥ 9♦ 6♦ 9♥ , Ong barreled 205,000 and 700,000, both called by Lim.

After twelve days of games at the stunning Cove Manila inside the world class Okada Manila, the 2025 APPT Manila has reached its final day. Kicking off on July 23, the doors open today August 4 with 20 players remaining at the Main Event, each one on the hunt for the lion’s share ₱14,800,000 (~U$ 254,390) top prize and the prestigious APPT shard trophy.
Leading in the pack is the hot running Justin Ong who championed the PokerStars Red Dragon event just before jumping in the main. At his heels is Christopher Mateo who finished as runner up at this event in 2023 then found redemption in 2024 winning APPT Cambodia. Third in the lineup is the recently crowned APPT National winner Youngtaek Lim who held the lead for most of Day 2 until Ong surged during the last few hands. Wedged in the middle of the pack is the 2023 APPT Manila champion Yuanning Wu, and will also be one to watch.
Aside from the decorated players hogging the headlines are Vamerdino Magsakay and Man Lok Chan both players with impressive records. Magsakay’s portfolio is littered with deep runs including a recent 4th place finish at one of the 2025 WSOP events while Chan has two big scores in Taiwan to be ranked fourth in the Macau All Time Money List.
